If you're bored of tutorials repeating the same things over and over you're in the right place my friend! I make high quality music production tutorials about a variety of topics. This channel is devoted to simplifying obscure and complex ideas down into easily understandable and intuitive explanations. My videos cover both beginner and advanced topics such as EQ, compression, distortion, mixing, mastering, production, arrangement, song writing, composition, sound design and more. So let's dive deep into the world of music production!

What is this creepy vocal fry? Are you trying to teach me about EQ or get me in bed?
I know this video is old but u have such a talent for explaining things. Incredibly video brother🙏
Your music is great. I need some tips
Huge porn collection💀
That's way too much distortion. Phonk producer: NO IT IS NOT!!!!
stop moving your haND.
1:40 Abbey Road curve 👀
so hes saying hedge trim anything poking out from the master... get everything flat then compress the heck out of it.
Thanks, bro, there are so many useful things in one video. but why is there no more new content on the channel, I appreciate it
Is your vocal fry symmetric or asymmetric distortion?
@3:00 a convolution is the integral of the multiplication between two waveforms (one shifted by some time). Not the multiplication of waveforms. To convolve a kernal (eq filter) with an input signal (your sample) shift the input signal backwards in time by a constant time period T then chop up everything into equal length segments with length dT. Finally multiply the kernal and shifted signal for each segment and add up the result. Keep a running tally of all additions and there you go the sum total is the convolution. Sounds convoluted
Damn I have been using it wrong 😂I was peaking all the ugly sounds n taking them out
Please get back to recording other wierd topics, your videos are so interesting!
I used to think that I could deal with the theorical part, but I couldn't BUT, I can AFFIRM I have a life before this video and another after watching it. Amazing work!
I dig this. But I was trying to figure out what differs waveshapers from compressors on the DSP level? Why compressors can't waveshaper even if they have 0 attack and release and 1:inf ratio. What does prevent them from clipping the audio?
Sublime explaining! Congrats. Suscribe!!
Gimmie the nerdy stuff!
fun fact: every distortion plugins are remakable with a wave shaper plugin
Boy forgot to EQ his voiceover, to loud and saturated
I'm glad to find another puppy muffin fan.
Some vocal de-essers are using simple static EQ. Sometimes, this seems to emphasize or smear them more if chosen badly. Any advice and tips on improving voice recordings with lots of S and stuff?
You were too good for KZread...
Amazing video. Thank you Sir!
Just so I'm understanding this... Is this why shelve eq sounds better than the LPF on my subs?
Fascinating stuff here… I bought my first IR”s as recommended by several folks from Ownhammer. Plunked them into their respective places in Apps like Helix and wound through them. Yes, I liked the Greenbacks best… but the CB (Curiosity Bell) got wrung when I saw the IR File types were musical and playable so I started listening to the IR’s. Your description above finally makes sense of these little dig bites, these finite harmonic pops. Now to listen for their saturation… maybe I’ll “record” one and slow it way down. There’s a world in a drop of water- there’s a universe in an IR. Thanks.
wow...can u please define different types of tubes and potential warming curves...
Drop the compression video
Man, I love this channel so much!!!!
Please do a video talking about gain staging and general output levels and industry standards
As a graduate student from a degree in music tech. This guys channel and daily practice will be just as valuable as a degree in aspects of tech.
Just combined a new distortion trick for my vocals with this concept thanks 🎉❤
yess we love the digital world 😏 and our beloved pc's
This is all super fascinating. I am hardly a pro when it comes to audio mixing or anything of the sort. I only started learning this stuff because I wanted to get better sounds for streaming-no one wants to listen to grating audio for very long. While your video talks a lot about EQ for a mix, what about things like podcasting or streaming? How do you EQ for an isolated voice? There are lots of videos out there, but I don't think many of them get as technical as this, and I LIKE technical. Even if I do not grasp every grain of concepts being thrown my way, it gives me a springboard to further research and understand.
bro you are like the 3blue1brown of music production, this is incredible. I have been looking for something just like this, that's some university level quality shit. Perfect to actually learn and improve, thank you so much!
Dude THIS VIDEO IS A GOLD MINE!!! I've learnt so much!!! I just hope i remember everything XD
I love your hair, it looks so soft and fluffy.
Thanks a lot for these vids man, such high quality and detailed. Very much appreciated! 🙏
I want to understand the basics of recording like this. Panning, EQ, compression, saturation, all of it. I'm flying blind out here😅 doing alright but don't fully understand what I'm doing or how to achieve certain outcomes.
15:18 not after 2000 Hz human can hear. so low 20 Hz
Honestly this is the perfect video a lot of people don't go in depth to wat eq actually does and is
Hey man at least make a patreon lol
All this time I thought “Eq” was just short for “Equalizer” 😅
The folder names 🤣🤣
