  I tried this with an SSD months ago, shame that we can't skip the buffer. A Samsung T7 Shield is more than fast enough that we should be able to write directly to it but I guess the camera has to go through the buffer before it writes out to a card/SSD. This would be game changing with a 24FPS option and direct to SSD.

  Wow...nice to know. I did something similar with my old Canon t3i with Magic lantern and I was able to record raw, until 20 secs in 720p. I have a S5IIX now and consider tha the SSD prores or even one of the All Intra formats are good enough to any production...so I don´t think I´m going to need to shoot in RAW this way, but I´m going to test it just for fun and to see how deep is the color space in that way.

  Yeah, the All-I codec is perfectly fine. I wouldn't bother to shoot in ProRes, unless an agency requires that specific codec. The internal RAW video is fantastic in case you need more dynamic range and more color information 👌🏻

  On p122 of the S5iiX user manual, it says, "The color depth of RAW images recorded with this camera is 14 bits. This is limited to 12 bits during burst recording, however."

  Thanks for the correction. Probably the Adobe DNG is changing the metadata info from 12bit to 16bit during the conversion. Cheers!

  Maybe this indicates that this camera might be able to shoot internal linear raw, if panny decided to let the Cdng format happen? This is unlikely to get them in trouble with red's "patents" since there is zero compression, and technically it's not one video file. Likely limited to 10-15 seconds in the highest res but it would be insane to have it. CDng is another level, especially 16 bit. That's unreal.

  It would be amazing to be able to record cDNG on the external SSD...but I don't think lumix will enable this function in the future

  also this method is working with Lumix GH6 however, has a maximum burst rate of 75fps which it can maintain for up to 200 RAW frames (8 seconds of RAW video )

  I’ve had a XF10 since they first came out. Despite having had loads of other Fujifilm cameras including at the moment an X100VI (which has a fault - and it’s a replacement for another defective one) and an X-T5, it’s the XF10 that I take most pictures with, because it’s always with me.

  I'm impressed... I don't see a front variable diopter for the anamorphic. and the call out of the system looks heavy for hand held, I have the same setup except a Band H instead of the Isco..... and S1H for camera ...the visuals speak for themselves. Bravo

  Thank you! The Isco Ultra Star is easyer to use than the Kowa B&H when you film in dual focus (it has a locking system for the focus). Cheers!

  Hi Luca, I love your work and video’s. I would like some advice. I Own the Zeiss classic’s 50mm f1.4 and 28mm f2 and love these lenses although manual focus means I mis shots sometimes and it is allways a surprise what I get. So my question is, as you say this lens should not be your first short telelens, what would you advice for 85mm f-mount that is autofocus but still has a bit of the Zeiss magic (micro contrast and color)? Or should I just buy this sexy Zeiss :-) Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

  Thank you! With your kit the 85mm f1.4 makes sense if you plan to use it only for portraits. But, if you can find a cheap 100mm makro, I'd get that one instead 🙃

  I have owned this camera for several years. It is always in my bag. It is so very dependable with excellent image quality. It is my go to camera when I want a little wider field of view and not in a hurry. It does hunt but there are ways to adjust to that. The quick shot capability works just fine for me when needed.

  It depends on what you're going to film. If it's a personal project, I would simply keep the same distance from the subject I'm following. For pro work, I would use a gimbal with a dedicated follow focus motor. Cheers!

  Works good with my EF 14mm 2.8 II L lens. Surprised everything with that lens worked, like aperture control and sends the lens information. Works fast and great with my S9 and the s5iiX even doing video.

  Can you actually do this with the S5 II? Because I've been digging in the menus for hours and I literally cannot find a way to enable this. When I touch the screen it just moves my AF point. When I click the joystick it just moves the AF point. HELP ME PLEASE

  I just got a used almost mint eos m. Paired it with a 24 2.8, 50 2.8 and the standard 18-55 all with an adaptor. Am just blown away at the image quality. Its got such nice colors and has a dreamy feel to it espscially closeup shots. Very very sharp. Even the 18-55 has such great sharpness. Truly amazed at what this little tool can do. So much better than what my phone or my sony rx100 m3 could take. I dont know if the colors are the same across all M series lineup.

  Yeah, you are right. I just checked on the S5IIx, that I recently got. You can't film in BRAW at 24hz with this camera, you should switch to NTSC or PAL :\

  Back button focus works pretty well in manual mode, then you can easily set your preferred focus distance decoupled from the shutter actuation. Reduces the pain a little.
