After soooooooo many crazy crashes and injuries, I was glad to see Albertyn win the series. I was at this race, but left during the second 250 moto because the gf was hot 🙄. I thought MC had it but then found out he fried his clutch. I've raced here, and it looks much different these days from what I've seen. Back then, it was mostly hard packed and blue grooved, with some loam here and there. Put it this way: how it looks in this race was not how it looked on a regular basis, lol

@@GoZipper Yep. I was there in '97-'02. Got a great pic of MC flying his Suzuki in '97 and had him autograph it in '98 at the Chaparral Open House when he and Button were there. It's framed and hanging up, along with the '98 Men in Blue poster signed by both MC and Jimmy, plus an autographed MC jersey. Now from the videos I've recently watched of MXA doing bike tests, it looks like Mt St Helen is part of the track all the time, but back then, it was only used during the National. Local guys like myself couldn't ride that hill because it wasnt part of the everyday track. My last race was at GH in 2003 at the Fire & Police MX Nats, but I recently got back into racing, so that's going to change

@@JokersWild70 That is awesome! Yeah, I hope to get back into riding and maybe racing. I still have my 1998 YZ 125 that my parents bought new. It was the most exciting gift ever! Loved racing it. I also met Jimmy Button at the Hard Rock hotel in 2008. I was there for a wedding and it just happened to be the supercross finale. Carey Hart had a music venue at the Hard Rock but I don't remember the name. I just wanted to go see the venue and saw Jimmy sitting at the bar. I just chatted with him for a minute. It was awesome to see him.
