Love the “people find it easier to empathise with those who cooperate with them rather than with those who are in competition with them”. Makes a lot of sense followed by the concept of rational compassion! New perspective on focusing on deliberate compassion instead of only relying on the feeling of empathy when in conversation with someone!

That’s wonderful, because this tells me that they like to keep their clients informed, which is also indicative of respect in a tangential way. Thanks for sharing your experience. And your opinion. We value it 🙏🏽

Well I don't like asking for help because growing up my parent insisted on helping me do everything that. Even things that were easy simple or things where a helping hand actually made it harder and I'd get yelled at if I didn't want the help.

Thank you for sharing, Carolina. It’s never easy to talk about these things, and before I respond I’d just like to take a quick second to commend you for the courage you have shown with sharing this troubling memory. Sometimes parents inculcate dependency in their kids because they like the validation that comes from somebody relying on them for the smallest of needs. Ironically though, it may look like they are fulfilling your needs, when in fact its quite the opposite.

I think I know why, emotion and thought aren't needed for survival. So when your doing good, with everything meh. You don't really feel anything

Thank you for your comment. That’s certainly one way to look at it. Evolutionary psychologists may however argue that emotions such as fear (amongst others) were instrumental in ensuring survival of the earliest humans.
