  Apparently I can buy an acre for $3500 just off the main hwy . WOW.. All I need is a travel trailer , solar and water to set up and live. Damn, why do I keep wasting time . Heck I could set up and foodtruck and just get by with it and live a good life just getting by debt free.

  You can tell a hick town because they all want to "grow". They sell all the good stuff about living in a small town, e.g., clean air, no crime, friendly people, etc.. Then they "grow" and all the things that people moved there for are gone. If population growth was the cause of economic prosperity mexico would be rich and Marin County, California, known for fighting "growth", would be poor. Marin County is rich, rich, rich.

  Carlin is a kick ass little town. Go to the State Inn on a Friday or a Saturday night. Get drunk as fuck and get into a fight. Then go to jail. You will have the time of your life. I guarantee it or your money back.
