Hi, I love learning and creating new recipes. In my channel, I will share with you Steamed Buns, Dim Sum and Easy Chinese Cooking Recipes.
I used to watch my Dad cook in the kitchen. So in the early days, I learned cooking tips and tricks from my Dad. Now, I learn from recipe books, KZread recipe channels and attending cooking classes. Then I just do loads of experiments and practice to get the right recipe.
I hope by watching my video, you will learn something new and cook delicious food for your family and friends!

Simple yet yummylicious. Thank you for sharing with us a lovely recipe. Can you pls show us how to use the bamboo steam basket please. I always wonder how much water do you pour in to start the steaming process.
Thank you for your continuous support! Will show you how to use the bamboo basket next time!

Yes very yummy 😋
My brinjals always turn brown after cooked. How to keep it purple?
Hi, its the type of brinjal. If you use the long brinjal it will turn brown, try to use pearl brinjal. Also, try not to steam on too high heat.
@@ruyiasianrecipes i see. Will find another type. Thank you
Ok 👌 great
Made it yesterday and it was so good! i added some vallina extract as well it gave it a nice flavour, i feel like i added less sugar in the custard but it got balanced with the caramel thank you for this amazing recipe! 😋
Hello 👋 so so happy you like it very much! Haven’t had much reviews for this recipe so was kinda nervous 😬. Really appreciate you providing this excellent feedback!!!
Hi I'm trying to make this recipe today just wanted to know how many cups of pudding does it make cause I'm just trying to make 2-3 for my small family. Also can I use powdered sugar for it? Will the ratio of sugar still be the same?
Hi I used 10cm/4 inch ramekin. About 200ml each. So you can make 2 cups for this recipe. You can multiply the ingredients by 1.5 to make 3 cups. I have not tried with powdered sugar but it should be ok. Can use 40-60 grams powdered sugar.
@@ruyiasianrecipes i will be adding condensed milk I'm only switching the caster sugar. So, will it be the same?
Oh I see, then use 25 grams
Can olive oil be used in place of butter for the biscuit layer?
Hmm not sure cos the butter hardens when cold so it holds the biscuit base together
This pau recipe I have try few days ago, the skin turn out well. I like it. Tqvm
Hello again! Thanks for trying and I’m glad it turned out well. I have quite a few pau recipes. Do have a try when you are free!
I’d use some rice cooking wine (“hua diao”) and a little water or chicken broth to simmer for a few minutes - (can pour 2 tablespoons of cooking wine into that oyster sauce cup to rinse it clean)
Hello yes good suggestion!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
☺️
How come my bread didn't turn out well, after cool still hard not soft😔
Oh no. Hmm…could be a few factors. May I know type of flour used ? Try to knead softly. Let me know if this helps.
Sry late reply...I'm using high protein flour ,maybe the yeast or the kneading part. I dono why I will never get that soft like yours or some other recipes.
@nacylim4442 did you mix in corn starch? The flour plays a major factor. I used Japanese bread flour. Sorry if I didn’t mention it. It’s give the softest texture when making bread. As for the kneading, try to knead as gently as possible. I also use mauripan yeast. I just realised recently it has a softening agent in the yeast so that could also be the reason.
@@ruyiasianrecipes yes I did add in.
Ok 👌 try to get the Japanese bread flour if possible
Yummy
Thank you 😊
Yummy 😋

Hello again! You are welcome 🤗
Simple yet delicious ❤
Hello again! Thank you very much
Hi no problem other than that can i use full eggs , i dont come right to seperate my egg so can i use a whole egg
I see yes I use whole egg for some of my recipes too. Happy it went well. Thanks for feedback
Looks yummy.will try this today❤
thank you, did you like it?
Hi, I would like to enquire how many teaspoons is 9 grams of agar agar powder. Thank you for replying.
1 teaspoon is roughly 3 grams. So you can use 3 teaspoons
Thank you for yr prompt reply. Appreciate yr time taken for responding. If I am not mistaken the Swallow brand Agar agar powder comes in a 10 grams packaging. Would it be alright if I just use all the 10 grams in the packet? Tks again.
@sharonlee7064 yes you can. The texture will be more firm since it’s 1 gram extra
@@ruyiasianrecipesThanks Ruyi.
Hope it goes well
I'm confused about thelooks great! I'm confused about the baking powder I missed it somewhere along the video
Hi the baking powder makes it fluffy
These look so lovely! I have two questions out of curiosity: why white, brown AND palm sugar? Why not just one type? And second question, why both yeast and baking powder instead of just one or the other? I'm entirely new at this!
Thank you! Hi I like the combination of the 3 types of sugar. You can use just palm sugar or brown sugar based on your preference. You need both yeast and baking powder to get the fluffy texture. If you have other questions, feel free to ask.
An also can i make this eggless
Hi, I've not tried without egg. So I can't advise
Hi i never made out in video if biscuit is tooooooo tiny or medium, i need big / medium ( but not tooooo small an not toooooo big) how wil i do that an also i see you mentioned a person could use either custard powder or milk powder & i could not make out which one u used whilst baking your biscuit an which is toooo more yum , custard powder or milk powder
Hi you can add both if you like. Both makes it fragrant.
Looks sooo good
Thank you ☺️
Can I use Lotus flour
I have not tried. Does it say for steamed buns
you are an amazing human being who share a lot of good recipes to people!
Thanks dear 🥰
ahaa... corelle plate...
😅
Is 20 ml of vegetable oil correct? I tried that and I had to throw away everything
May I know what flour you used?
@@ruyiasianrecipesit is an italian flour for pasta making, the lowest ash content i could find...thank you for your reply
@smj2015 hi I’m not familiar with Italian flour but if you use the lowest protein one it is similar to cake flour. For this recipe cake flour is not suitable. When you add oil to it it will tend to be very sticky. You can try to use similar to plain/all purpose flour.
@@ruyiasianrecipesno it is not a cake flour but one to make noodles and dumplings. Minumun protein content is 11% which shouldn't be low
@smj2015 I see maybe you can let me know what effect the oil has on the dough
Sory miss Takde ke resepi ni dlm bahasa melayu

Is there another alternative to alkaline water?
Hi I’m not sure. The alkaline water give it the amber colour and chewy texture.
thank you for this superb recipe Ruyi ❤❤❤
Happy you like it !!!
粽子 not 种子
Yes typo 😅
I can't believe a rice cooker is hot enough to cook bread. Crazy
😅
Wat wl happened if it’s boiled longer than 1 hour 45 minutes?
Hi it’ll just have a softer texture
@@ruyiasianrecipes thx

Hi Ruyi, where can I get the bamboo leaves you used in the video ? I appreciate an early response. Tq.
Hi you can buy from here s.shopee.com.my/8KTgyWIQdw (Malaysia) amzn.to/4bGLdCE (US)
hmm I just checked the link for shopee, looks like all the big bamboo leaves are sold out. You can try other online sellers.
Instead of hong kong flour what can we use ???😢
Hi you can follow this recipe for the dough kzread.info/dash/bejne/nJajxNVqlNqZmZs.html
How to prepare the mung bean?
hello, sorry instructions not clear in the video. Wash the mung beans until the water is clear, then soak for 2 hours. Don't need to cook.
@@ruyiasianrecipes OK. U need to add salt, oil to it?
@Jtsh706 hi don’t need to
@@ruyiasianrecipes think most recipe seasoned it.
No sugar in the fillings??
Hi 110 g sugar, in the sugar syrup prepared at the beginning of the video
Thanks
