Always funny to hear 100% biased opinion from KZreadr, who is fanboy of some brand, and don't give any facts or measurements, to backup his words.. Just talks, talks and talks😃

I bought it in December of 2009. Although for the past 3 years I have been using the Zfc, I will never sell it! The build quality is great and the quality of the images amazing! You can't tell the difference between the Zfc and the D90.

Yes, it does matter, 1000 percent. Everything else being equalled, a full frame camera is always better than a small sensor camera.

I agree that it is not necessary to have a full frame. I have a full frame an apsc and a micro 4/3. All of them are awesome for what I use them for. Each one has their benefits and disadvantages.

I absolutely matters, if you care. If you don't care, then of course it doesn't matter. But there is a big difference. I have shot APS-C, FF/35mm, and now MF (GFX). And this whole "equivalent" focal length between sensor sizes is also a myth, a 50mm lens is a 50mm lens, regardless of the sensor size that's behind the lens. But to the untrained or uncaring eye, then carry on with this obfuscated nonsense. And there is no "argument", only fact. So saying the argument is over is like saying we're done arguing that 2 doesn't equal 3, it's an invalid argument to begin with, therefore it was never factually correct for there to be a valid argument. Sorry, nothing against this channel/KZreadr, I just happened to run across this video after see one-too-many of these nonsensical debates, arguments, etc. And no, you can't "fix" this in post, just like you can't make 2 equal to 3 in post.

The way I look at it is this: pick up a camera and take photos. I couldn't care less what 'you' shoot, let's see what you've got, shall we? There's so much, quite frankly, bollocks spouted about this is better than that, mine is better than yours etc etc - and nine times out of ten we're looking at on paper specs, and nothing else. Personally I look at a photo as a photo. Do I like it? Yes, or no? I'm not even considering what it's shot with. You can balls up an image with any camera, any size sensor, and any lens combination you can put together. The only constant is it'll be the same person pressing the shutter release. I've settled with MFT because I love the small form factor and lightweight lenses. Am I right? Nope. Is the person that shoots FF wrong? Nope. We've just chosen a different path to the same place. I quite fancy adding an S5ii to my setup for certain situations, but have also concluded, as you have Grant, that that'll require investment in a whole new set of lenses, and quite frankly, I don't have the energy (or the finances). I read somebody yesterday commenting on an OM System video saying that because the OM-1 uses a smaller sensor than full frame, that it should be priced lower than a full frame camera - as if sensor size is the only thing that governs the image that comes out of a camera. Unbelievable! Until the photographer is better than the camera, there's no point in convincing yourself that a different camera will yield better results. I know for a fact that my camera is better than I am, and I'm pretty sure that also applies to the majority of people commenting on photography videos on KZread. If you really have cash burning a hole in your pocket, spend it on tuition, not more gear. Subscribed.

I have MFT since 2014. I still have the same lenses and during the years I’ve been changing different cameras bodies, from the Olympus to Lumix. I’m still using them even I returned to FF again. There is always advantages and disadvantages in every system, there is no perfect camera or lenses. But, invest in good quality lenses, there is when the MFT has better results.

I started with a GX9 in 2019 and the 15mm Lumix-Leica that came with my DJI Inspire at that time. In the meantime I did build up a small camera collection including full frame systems and even a medium format GFX 100S. Combined with the Leica-Lumix lenses and cameras like a GX9, G9 and G9M2 (these are ones I am using) MFT is of cause great to use in 2024 and also in the future. If you put the Lumix-Leica 35-100 2.8 on the GX9 it is such a small and easy going system, that I am gonna sell some larger lenses like my ff Sigma 2.8 70-200 because this is so bulky, that I never did like take it with me on a photo walk or on a bicycle. The MFT combo fits in a small bag that I can fix on my gravel bike and this is like the perfect combo for this purpose… Even the L-L 0:06 50-200mm fits in there, with just some 400-500g of additional weight compared to the 35-100.

There are benefits to both, but there are definitely better tools for different jobs. When I'm shooting indoor in smaller rooms, FF is absolutely critical. I am unable to get the shallow depth of field that I desire to separate my subjects with m43, even at 2.8 everything is just too compact. Shooting exclusively primes is unrealistic for my subject matter which would leave the PL 25-50 1.7 as the only lens up for the task, and really not a perfect solution. However, when I'm outside shooting wildlife, the idea of purchasing $12k 7lb 600mm lenses and carrying them with me on vacation is hilarious when I can get a half dozen options at a tenth of the price and a sixth of the weight for m43. Not to mention the massive difference is stabilization from an m43 system. There are also occasions in low light in which I may want more depth of field that are not ideal with FF as it has to be wide open to gather enough light. They are just tools. Don't use a tack hammer for pounding railroad spikes.

I have a few m43 cameras, and they are great by 2005 standards. I have no idea why anyone would buy a new one in 2024. Virtually impossible to get ultra wide, useless separation, poor low light performance and even with phase detect focusing added 10 years too late, rubbish autofocus. I, too, own quality m43 glass, but I really must get around to selling it.

I’ve loved my gh cameras over the years, no doubt about though; there have been times when I’ve needed more light gathering capability, sometimes you just need more, now I’m on a s5iix and it’s epic. Sure it’s heavier and bigger but after a few months I’ve just got stronger. No downside.

Honestly speaking its usually people who've never used M43 which keeps on making these bigger is better comments. I used to be one of them until last year when I got an original four thirds DSLR and a Sigma 30mm f1.4, The photos coming out where better or on par with my APSc cameras. and they print beautifully. I then got a few Olympus EM cameras and I cannot remember when last I lugged my FF or APSc gear with to any event. The benefits and features of M43 far outweigh the slight DOF characteristics you might get from bigger sensors. Life time convert here.

Ok grant. I'd say yes and no to your conclusion. Yes for most everyday shooting its not a problem what sensor you use. But I shot a lot of astro stuff. Moon, aurora, noctilucent clouds and milkyway stuff. On these subjects without tracking the most I'll use is 10 seconds. Therefore I need a lens with a large aperture. On the g85 and the g9 I've used the leica 10 to 25 at 1.7. Nope it's just not a clean enough image. A lot of software used to make ot work. But my s1 is such a different girl. Shooting at iso 4000 and an aperture of f4 on my 28 to 105 the images are clean. Very little noise and only a light touch up. Also in the shadows I can pull up even more detail than with the g9. The maximum I shoot the g9 at is 800. After that the noise gets harsh in a raw file. A bit of a niche subject astro but that my interest. Thanks for the video though. All the best grant.

Hello Mark. I agree with you and I have Micro four thirds G9, GX8, LX100 plus Olympus EM1 mark III, Canon R7 and Canon R6. I just found an amazing KZread video by MARK WIECZOREK titled “Micro four thirds cameras are better at low light (busting the full frame myth). For a start at the same aperture as full frame Micro four thirds lenses are the same amount of light on each sensor, providing both cameras are using the same ISO equivalent and the same shutter speed. for Micro four thirds f2.8 would be F5.6 at the same shutter speed on the Full frame camera and Micro four thirds camera. He goes into the science of light and cameras. I think this is a must read.

I've had this camera for a few years. My biggest gripe is the autofocus. Sony cameras lock the autofocus perfectly on you and never seem to go fuzzy. The G85 loses autofocus when shooting moving video.

Agreed Grant. Sensor size nerds remind me of wine snobs!! The vast majority of us cannot distinguish between a 16mp sensor and a 24FF mp sensor. Unless you’re a basement dwelling pixel peeper, we like to look at composition. Does the image appeal to me or not? The sensor size is somewhat irrelevant. I have shot M4/3rds for years and I have acquaintances that continually put down M4/3rds, with absolutely no good reason, except their snobbish affinity to FF. Look at the art and not the equipment. Great content Grant keep up the good work.
