    Is ceteareth 20 endocrine disrupter?

  • @janbenham
    @janbenham2 ай бұрын

    It is a possiblilty. However there is very little used in the end product not even 1/4 % as it is mostly stearic acid that is used with a tad of ceteareth 20. Frankly the most problem common product as an endocrine disrupter is perfumes and scents that are used in most products including scented candles, soaps, laundry soap etc. the perfumes are much more dangerous than ceteareth20 (i am not talking about pure essential oils here!) I personally make my creams and lotions with OlivOil avenate which is more expensive but has a lovely texture to the end product and natural. I teach how to make creams and lotions, hence this video, so we explore all chemical avenues and look at how emulsifyiers are made with many different emulsifyiers that are on the market. Then the students can make an educated choice about what they use as an emulsifyier.

    I'm uncertain if you'll respond to this comment, but if you do, could you please advise me? I'm attempting to create a hair wax using carnauba wax. is this a wax to apply to the hair to keep the hair in place? Also, are you wishing to mix water into the hair wax?

  • @SkanDasz
    @SkanDasz6 ай бұрын

    This is a wax I'm creating as a styling product because many pomades and commercial hair waxes contain carnauba wax. After researching its ability to hold hair for extended periods, I opted for it over candelilla and beeswax due to its superior strong-hold properties. However, I'm unsure whether to mix water or take another approach. I'm seeking guidance on creating a pure carnauba paste without extra additives, allowing me to easily apply it to my hair by rubbing it between my hands. I'm hesitant about adding water as it might affect the consistency. Could you advise me on how to achieve a paste-like texture and suggest a suitable method for preserving it in a container?@@janbenham

  • @janbenham
    @janbenham6 ай бұрын

    @@SkanDasz if you are not adding water, then you dont need an emulsifier . However i would suggest adding stearic acid to make the carnauba hair wax more pliable otherwise it will be too brittle and you should also to mix in oils such as jojoba which should give you the right consistency

  • @janbenham

    there are different strengths of GSE . the one available at a health food store is not strong enough! Myrrh is antifingal which at the beginning of my journey i used it along with a strong GSE but then one has the same smell in the finished products. I personally now use leucidal max as it is natural and i have never had an issue with mold growing in my creams and they have also passed all the cosmetic tests in the EU.
