Like any relationship if you want a certain type of client you need to be the type of photographer that client would hire. Some care about style, some care about gear. We are essentially in the catering business and you have to cater to the type of clients that you want to have.

My favorite is giving a price and the response is “well I was thinking this” clients don’t set prices. It’s not, not negotiable but stay firm in your pricing.

About the gear. Yes it's nice to have new and shiny but take the experienced photographer and give him an iPhone and on the other hand complete novice and give him the best Hasselblad and see who will take the better picture. 100% of the time it will be the experience that makes the picture great not the gear. In my experience, not sending the final photos is your best piece of leverage. Wait on final payment before you deliver anything.

Could you please provide photos of the item(s), even if taken on your phone, so I can get a better idea of what I'll be working with? 3. What are final images do you need for each item(s)? 4. Do you have examples of what the final images should look like? 5. Where are the images being used? 6. When do you need the final images delivered by? 7. What’s the budget for this project 8. Are there any details about this project I should know about? Ill the give them the next steps , once I have the info I'll put together an estimate if that get approve I send a contract and get deposit. Ill change and customize questions if needed. Hope you friend enjoys LOL.

It can be hard attracting the right clients, I’ve had clients who nitpick at every image you’ve taken and they are never pleased and the images can only be as good as the venue they have chosen for their event as cheap venues have old crappy decor with horrible led lighting but they want images out of a Hollywood movie set! And some clients want to pay nothing but bare minimum and want you to produce hours of highly colour corrected images which takes days to edit

Other photographers may disagree, but I believe you do. Credit in a magazine or a social media post is different, but it’s not like I’ve ever seen a watermark on a Billboard before. If someone wants to find out who shot it, they will figure it out. If someone wants to crop or edit out your watermark, they will too.

Love the long format, for sure, but I'm lost when you do some stuff (I guess I need to learn things to understand what you do) : on the gaussian blur part, you're selecting things but I don't understand what you do ; on the frequency separation part I don't understand why you're keeping empty grey masks ; and on the first part of removing things, I didn't get which tool you used... That's why I guess I'm too much of a beginner to get all the stuff. But thanks for the share, it's really nice to watch and learn ! Take good care, Sergio !

I am a street photographer here in Toronto. I use the smallest/most affordable stuff I can get away with, nikon apsc/35mm prime and 17-70 zoom. Finding interesting moments in this city is hard...very hard lol. It's not like new york or chicago...its boring when comparing histories and city created cultures.
