I had the 560s. I couldn't find one thing to like about them compared to my AKG 712 Pro. They have more bass then 712 but at the wrong place. They still have the infamous Sennheiser veil. Maybe a little bit better vocals. For the rest: details, timbre, sound stage, positioning etc, the 712 is waaay better (and very eq-able). Got rid of the 560s after 2 days

I love using headphones and have a high end pair and an upper mid range pair. In comparison these for the price compare very well. Bluetooth sound quality is very good, great amplification. To up the quality further I use wired or into my Fiio BTR7 or ifi Gryphon. A very good buy for traveling with. Great value and well built. Pleasing, musical sound.

I know i am late, can you please tell me how to drive these perfectly with a macbook pro which comes with high impedance headphone jack. I want to make it as simple as possible, what are all the extra products i need to buy? ( Macbook comes in a 3.5mm jack - 150 ohms with 1.25 volts RMS ) And big thank you for this wonderful video

Isn’t 660S as in S1 improvement on HD600, it has maybe less bass (but better quality) and more smooth treble (but with more detail retrieval)? The timbre vs HD600 and mids remained intact, the added soundstage, imaging and dynamic performance of the driver is the result of newer modern HD700 drivers being used. I pretty much consider HD660S better Hd600. Meanwhile HD660S2 felt like its separate model, more in line with HD58X or with Momentum 3 headphones. The HD660S still has vocals in more forward position. Meanwhile HD660S2 vocals are more inline with instruments. That’s my take on it. So ended up keeping that.

I got and tried extensively - Philips X2HR, X3 - Hifiman Sundara - Sennheiser HD660S2, HD650, HD660S, Momentum 3 - Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X, DT1990 Pro The headphones I kept, -Sennheiser HD650, HD660S2, Momentum 3 - Philips X2HR (side by side, Sudnara felt unimpressive in comparison), just EQ down the spike if you need to, I did not.

nice review. I have the same comment to you as I did in Resolve's review last week of the 6 series... 70Hz is not subbass. 60 Hz is not subbass. 50Hz is not subbass. get where I'm going here?? the 600 drops below the bottom of the bass preference curve at 80 Hz. The 600 doesn't lack subbass... it lacks bass, period.

I love these and have used them a few time per week since 2017. The sound works for my mixing and reference needs. Everything is still intact after 7 years of use. They are certainly broke in and not secure to my head like they were when new. I find myself adjusting them occasionally for best comfort. I feel the earpads memory foam becomes flat pretty fast and they need to be replaced more frequently than other headphones. I bought these over the Sennheiser 600HD reference because they sounded better to my ear and were more comfortable for long sessions. Great Video Thank you!

I got 660s and 660s2 to test them against my 650 with Ifi Zen Dac v2. I can confirm the upper mid range can a little bit, overpower/hype the vocals. Could not crank up the volume to hear vocals better due to that in some tracks. There is more detail in 660s2, I could pick some stuff from background sounds or background vocals that you did not notice on HD650. The HD660S have more detail too, but due to lowered bass they have bigger soundstage. Overall they are almost 1:1 in mids to HD650. Sometimes in vocals and guitar they sound little bit more tiny than HD650. Overall I think I prefer HD650 for music, pop, hip-hop, edm and rock. But due to gaming and me wanting all round headphones, I will keep the HD660S, as if you don’t have them side by side the 660S still sound very good for music 97% for mids and vocals to HD650. But 660s have better soundstage, imagining, detail, perfect suit for gaming.

my eq for the x2hr is almost identical but i also slightly boosted the majority of the midrange because i feel like the mids can get a little drowned out by treble and bass in a lot of the music i listen to (mostly metal and rap)

14:08 I have the newer revision of the hd560s where they toned down the treble a bit and I can hear the claps change position just slightly though it's more noticeable when they get further away, if I move the drivers forwards of my ear holes then it loses a lot of that positional detail.

Strange comparison, but for the other hand - most iconic dynamic vs variation of the most iconic planar... BTW, i have new revision HD600 (no marble painting, different acoustic panel damper, etc.) - it does stretch over time, but without additional effort (like living it stretching on something) - it takes pretty long. If you don't wear it regularly - it stiffens back)

Coming from a Steelseries Arctis Pro (lol), anything talked about here will be a big upgrade. It's sounding like the Sennheiser HD800S and HiFiMAN Arya Stealth are quite a bit similar... I don't have any experience with audiophile level headphones. Both have an MSRP that cover around $1700ish. Looking at current prices I can snag an HD800S for about $1400 or Arya Stealth for $690. Presumably, with such a vast price difference I'd be better suited getting the Arya Stealth? Also, considering I have no other gear, what else should I look for - an amp and DAC? Which should I consider? Cheers!

Can you review one of the old Sony headphones which seemed to maybe be inspirations for the HD800? Such as the Sony Qualia 010, Sony MDR-SA5000, Sony MDR-SA3000? Also could you review the ES Lab ES-R10?

Do you just not believe in the Harmon target or anything? Look up the frequency response, there’s a huge dip in the upper mids (I think between 3-6k) that most hi-Fi headphones would boost.

11:05 at the end of the video you really just took away the most value for money type of headphones and just stayed with the more expensive ones which is fine but i still think the ananda and deva are great headphones cause deva and he400se are like a cheaper version of the sundara and ananda is a cheaper version of the arya to be fair i do think the arya obviously is a better headphone but i dont think by long shot compare to the ananda. The ananda i think also sound like a very expensive headphone and not only said by me but by other reviewers as well. And in frequency response i do have seen the arya is one of the most neautral ones of all but the sundara i also do have seen in other reviews that are warmer in sound.

12:01 besides only doing more of a experience comparison i really would it enjoy see a graph comparison of the frequency response so you can kinda just objectively also compare what you hearing with what the actual thing the headphone is trying to transmit. I think would it be More visual and prob even easier to understand.

Hello guys! I am looking to buy new headphones. I currently have X2HR with oratory EQ which are sufficient, but I am looking for something new, mainly I would like something with best detail and technicalities in general. Currently I had a look at HE400SE which are 130 euros, Sundaras which are 350 euros, and HD 600 which are 330 euros. Also I am used to the wide soundstage which X2HRs provide. I am not worried about the tuning since I am probably gonna run oratory's. Also I do not own an amp or a dac, so a suggestion for that is also welcome. My budget is upwards 400 euros (not including amp or dac) Different recommendations are also welcome, however I am looking only for open backs. tl;dr: Looking for new open-back headphones with great detail and technicalities, currently considering HE400SE, Sundara, and HD 600. Budget is upwards of €400 (not including amp/DAC). Prioritize wide soundstage and open to other recommendations.

There's no possible way the bass can be different because of the shape of the magnets. The wavelengths are simply too large to be affected by them.
