Like a day ago i was wondering why I don't see any new videos from David. And now bang KZread posted your video on home page. I have your channel subbed but for some time i didn't see any of your videos on front page.

A fave at our house is PB&J pancakes. Just add a tablespoon or two of peanut butter to favorite basic pancake batter and when done spread with favorite jelly or jam.

With all due respect, you went on vacation for a month. Then, you posted a video. I think your lack of videos has contributed to the decrease in video views. I also think your videos have become irrelevant. You have been publishing high school TikTok content videos since you started your channel. It’s old. Move on. Your material is irrelevant. I’d like to see how this works out.

The "Midwest salad" looks like a failed attempt at a real salad: spring salad. Made wjth shell noodles, carrots, celery, mayo, and a few other veggies.

Constructive feedback. David, my wife and I love your videos and have for years... Your last several videos have changed significantly in tone and spirit. You are way more negative and continuously sprinkle in comments on the business of KZread... We do not watch your videos for that, and I doubt others do. Please don't loose that spirit you had, that made your videos so joyful to watch. I hope you take this as constructive and not trolling. ✌️

My sense is that youtube is trying to kill the long format food videos. I suddenly realized I hadn't been offered any of my favorite cooking videos for a long time so I tracked you down--it was nice to be able to binge two months of videos but it would have been nicer. to have had them come through my feed the way they used to. Sorry it looks like they are going to force you to pivot soon. Thank you for your years of great content and inspiration.

Maybe it’s time to move your long form videos to Patreon or do a selection of both and just an extra one occasionally on patreon to boost your income

It’s interesting you mentioned that viewership is down, because for weeks, months even I wasn’t seeing any of your videos. I’m positive I had subscribed before, but maybe I hadn’t and had just seen so many of your videos that you kept popping up, but anyways suddenly you disappeared from my feed and I couldn’t remember your name (so sorry about that). So annoyed that I couldn’t find you for the longest time. I even thought maybe you’d closed your channel or something and lo and behold this week you popped up again, but yeah either KZread had unsubscribed me (which has happened a few times) or I just accidentally forgot way back when. So resubscribed or new subscribed, whatever I’m here for it

Candied bacon is DELICIOUS and yes, best made outside on the grill. The trick is to let the bacon sit in the brown sugar for 10-15 minutes until it's nice and soupy, and then put it on the grill. Worth the clean-up.

Meatloaf is simple. Two of these were over complicated. Some aromatics, some ground meat, a panade to bind everything together and a sauce or glaze to go on top. But the key to the whole thing is to not underseason the recipe. Use 1/2 teaspoon per pound of table salt or 3/4 teaspoon per pound for kosher salt. 2 lbs beef, half an onion, a carrot, 1 egg, plain bread crumbs, 1/4 cup of milk, salt and pepper. Glaze is ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Standard diner recipe.

Mood on the allergies. I've got Oral Allergy Syndrome connected to basically all my environmental allergies, to basically everything outside, so I go poison testing every so often. Can't do seafood of any variety, leafy greens, onions and their relatives, mint and its relatives, more than a few spices, herbs, and smoking woods, furry fruits, bananas, citrus, mangoes, pomegranates, avocados, grapes, possibly apples, and possibly grains and starches (I still can't figure out if the clogging feeling I get in my throat sometimes when I eat noodles, potatoes, and rice is me eating too fast or anaphylaxis. I have the same issue with bananas.). And I'm gluten and lactose intolerant, and have an inexplicable, inherited issue with processing foods high in iron and B vitamins that no doctor of mine has ever been able to explain, so most red meats are out unless consumed in small amounts and extended time. And I'm allergic to the cold. I can't eat stuff like ice cream unless it's melted enough to not have any ice crystals in it anymore. Otherwise it starts burning my mouth.

i will say, as a meatloaf fan, eating meatloaf by itself is cursed. That shit slaps harder with brown gravy over the glaze, with mash potatoes, and some type of green veggie. It’s the mixed fork/spoonful that hits.

I love my mom's meatloaf and I think simpler is better when it comes to meatloaf recipes. Hers is just ground beef, onions, torn white bread. Cook in the oven and glaze with ketchup. Serve with mashed potatoes. I could eat a whole pan by myself.

I watch long-form food videos all the time and I always jump on yours as soon as I see them! I'm also a big fan of meatloaf. I don't actually make it very often because of the work involved but these recipes are even more involved than mine! What is actually the difference between the mixture used for meatloaf and the mixture used for meatballs? They seem pretty similar to me!
