The clips disappeared on October 26, 2009 when GeoCities (host of the TVYVR files) became defunct.

Looks like CHEX & CKWS News will now air at 5:30 PM & 6:30 PM similar to Global Montreal format. Sad to see that they got rid most of their employees in both PTBO and Kingston.

I don’t have access to Durham atm, so I can’t tell, but I doubt it. There’s nothing left to cut but to axe the newscasts there. I feel like it’s more likely for CHEX and CKWS to resemble CHEX-2 in terms of news output and how it’s presented.

Good god I miss BCTV. I was 10 when this was going on and wasn't paying any attention, but looking back at the quality of journalism is just wild to me. My dad still catches the News Hour today, but I watch with him when I'm visiting and while I like Chris and Sophie, it's constant rage-baiting and sensationalising. Shameful and basically unwatchable. I've switched to paper delivery.

It's been almost nearly 5 years since PBS had recently debuted that updated logo in electric blue on November 4, 2019, and my local PBS member station WHYY-TV in Wilmington/Philadelphia had recently rebranded as "PBS WHYY" that same day, replacing the previous logo from June 2000.
I like how they reminded us every 20 seconds that we're watching NTV, I would have surely forgotten

As a Black individual, I will never understand why they chose the title "Basic Black" for a series that aimed to document the negative and detrimental impact that prejudice and discrimination and hate crime has had on us Black people and our culture. :P
The Shaw family are the controlling shareholders of Corus Entertainment, but they have failed in their fiduciary duty to act in the interests of all shareholders: they have acquiesced to the looting of Corus by Rogers, & will benefit from this (their holding in Corus is immaterial compared to their major position in Rogers), but common shareholders will be gravely injured. The Shaw family have flaccidly presided over the destruction of >99% of the equity of Corus' common shareholders, & the Corus board & executive management (past & current) is subservient to the Shaws & similarly not acting independently & in the best interests of common shareholders. The Shaws have their tax ducks in a row & are planning to let Corus go under, but this is an unnecessary tragedy for the common investors who do not want this. The CRTC must demand that the common shareholders be given a voice by their shares immediately being converted into voting shares _pari passu_ with the Shaws. The CRTC must investigate the circumstances of Rogers purloining the WBD channels from Corus, & the Shaws' failure to advocate in any way for the interests of the common shareholders under their care. A new, independent board & executive must be elected & appointed forthwith, & a plan to set Corus on a path to profitability with the goal of becoming the "Netflix of Canada", it being the only asset-light broadcaster/content producer in the country (with the exception of TVA, which is however a subsidiary of Quebecor).
