Molly Parker | Voice & Accent Coach
Hey,
I'm Molly and I'm a Voice & Accent Coach based in London (niche, I know). My time is split between training actors, leaders and anyone who feels as though they need a helping hand with commanding a room and feeling confident in communicating again.
The nature of my work means that I literally learn something new every week about how to make coaching, accents and actor training more accessible and after some comments on my instagram I thought I would expand my content onto KZread too!
Anyway thanks for hopping on and I hope you gain some insight :)

"there are Two levels" the sound of T in "two" is what I am trying to learn.. I always make mistakes when it comes to intonation and pronunciation 😢
Jackie Kennedy had the most cringy baby-talk voice ever.
What a beautiful girl you are! ❤❤
The most ever useful video! Im from Russia and these sounds Im really struggle with. Espescially the long sound 'o'. Idk why this video isn`t as popular as it useful. Thanks very much
I have this sort of bi-dialectal thing going on, as well, but instead of it being two dialects/accents, it’s multiple because of the varied social interactions I’ve grown up with and the influence of family members in my life. I swap a lot between my northern English Mancunian accent (Dad’s side of the family is from there). Irish accent (because I have grown up with a lot of Irish family friends since I was a baby). Scottish accent (because both sets of godparents are from Scotland and I grew up hearing it all the time). German accent (because I have German family and learned to speak Deutsch fluently. Hallo, deutsche brüder und schwestern! 🇩🇪) And a typical Midwestern US accent (because I have a lot of very close friends and work clients from the Midwest US and I speak to them every day). For me, I don’t even have to think about it. Whoever I’m speaking to, my accent changes and falls more in line with whoever I’m interacting with. I’m like a vocal chameleon
So i uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh think that maybe uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i might uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i maybe ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yes know i remember uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh oh yup i disagree.
They are probably southerners who are extremely lazy
Exi’ed ?? Bo’em ?? Your slipping Molly
This is great advice! Thank you!
Reminds me of nara smith...
I just came across your channel and love the videos. It would be great to hear you react to Emma Stones British accent in Poor things. ❤
Molly, could you do a video about Miriam Margolyes? I find her sounds and speech patterns(I mean her real accent) are (almost) exactly the same as the descriptions given in my phonetics textbook, which is kind of fascinating.
How much does it cost to learn RP Accent?
Her voice changed more masculine
She’s my voice teacher at uni !!! So glad I found your KZread channel 😍😍
Great content!
❤❤❤
I’ve just subscribed to your channel and I can assure that you’re such a wonderful, amazing and brilliant teacher. I just hope one day your channel will be the famous channel ever .
Wow you’re amazing
Wow
Have you watched this yoga instructor prepping the viewers for the day's content with this Zen Master thing? It was mesmerising! Molly: Hold my mic.
You spent too much time talking than showing the different voices.
Love your contents ❤
Would you guys say that this (fake) phone conversation qualifies as RP English? kzread.info/dash/bejne/f3mXmsFrfqTfZKg.html
I needed this advice, thanks
Great vid 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks for the advice
❤❤❤
Where you are educated . the people you work with and where you end up living all have an influence on your accent...
Thank you Molly. That is an interesting topics. As someone learning English as a second language, I found the differences all so subtle until you pointed that out. Would you also do a comparison of the accent of the Late Queen and King Charles please. I also wonder if it is easy for native speakers who grow up with say northen accent to speak with the royal accent like that of the King Charles.
I’ll add it to the list! Thanks for the suggestion 😊
Hi! If Harry and William don't have SSB or Modern RP accents, could you show us somebody who does? I mean, what features do they need to have to be considered SSB 🤔
Great question! On paper they have a lot of features- I would say the ‘near’ sound being a monophthong rather than a diphthong is SSB… I’m really also speaking from my lived experience in the south of England- Harry and William’s accent resembles one that is less modern and more poised… will make a note to put a video down!
@@mollypvoiceaccentcoach hi, Molly! Thank you so much for replying. Would love to learn more about this ❤️
❤❤
Could you please recommend few vloggers with modern rp accent?
I would say people like Molly Mae and Ali Abdaal are good places to start!
Hey Team! Hope you enjoy this week’s video :) what do you think of the musicality differences? Would love to hear your thoughts 💭
❤
Hello @MollyParker - I just tripped over this video, and I thank you for it! Have you done anything similar with John Barrowman's bidialectal-ness (?? If that's not a word, I just created it!) His propensity to switch between a Scots accent and a mid-Ohio accent is pretty interesting. I'm interested mainly because my parents were both English but met in Ontario Canada, where I and my sisters were born, and mum and dad both sort of ended up with a blended version of their accents.
Interesting! I’ll add it to the list, thank you :)
Wonderful 🎉
Absolutely right!
I love your arms! ❤❤
Great video! Love accent videos...keep at it!!
It's true. Listen to how female Mormon missionaries speak. They do it intentionally.
Big up Erin Barty
In Japanese culture the women are taught to have very little soft voices almost childlike and the men should have more gruff voices.
I don't like modern rp sounds boring
I know where I've heard that sample before... : kzread.info/dash/bejne/hmh50NapgrWqpbQ.html
Hey Molly, super informational video, i have a question. How do you pronounce 'here/hear' word? People who speak in rp accent pronounce it like 'hee-uh' but I can see at 4:53 you're not pronouncing it like that. You're pronouncing it like 'hee' , like how you would pronounce 'there'. I'm patiently waiting for your reply
Good question! There is a merger with this sound “ie the near sound”. More traditional RP has as you say a diphthong whereas I tend to speak it as a monophthong which I recognise as more modern but it flops and changes :)
@@mollypvoiceaccentcoachthank you for a quick reply. I see. Its a new concept for me so I don't quite get it. I like your accent, especially when you pronounce the word 'here'. Could you do a short video on it explaining how to make those sounds and how to do the merging sound? It'll really help me out. Have a nice day!
Are you beautiful.☺
