    Great video man! Definitely subbing cos you're doing a fantastic job of explaining the necessary procedures. I service and maintain my own reels at home so this is invaluable. Small tip I picked up from the RC hobby, if an o-ring or seal has expanded slightly after cleaning, just pop it in the freezer for a few minutes and it will shrink slightly, making reassembly/fitting easier. Keep up the great content!

    SKF LGGB 2.0 synthetic grease. Not cheap and you have to buy it in 400g cartridge but compared to other reel grease, its pretty dorn cheap and it smells like coconut and vanilla. Dont eat it. However this grease soft and its only suitable for reel size 6000 and below..

  • @solunaranglingconfidante417
    @solunaranglingconfidante4172 ай бұрын

    Well...... Its shimano's hagane alright but every reels hagane are different material and quality. Hagane is just another marketing gibberish by Shimano. But still, the material is good enough for its price range. Same material as saragosa but the reels design is just a touch different from saragosa. If you turn the reel under pressure, you can feel the gear grinding. However, after thousands of fish including quite a number of sailfish/marlin and double digit cobia, the gear on my reel is still running good ( 3kg of drag, sometimes i do 4kg on sailfish, marlin). Utilize the reel within its optimum range (2-3kg drag) and with good maintenance, this one will last pretty well.

    There are plus and minus of this greasing style. Most of the reels will be abused until who knows when my customers will send them back for servicing, so this much grease will be needed. If the reels are used by recreational anglers who fish maybe once or twice a month and the do good maintenance, then I will use half the grease in this video. However, based on my experience servicing thousands of reels by now, good maintenance rarely happens😂. These much grease, unfortunately, are necessary. One more thing, for countries with 4 season climate, lesser and much thinner grease will serve them reels better.

    Every production of any brand is different. Some will have some will not. It will be even more confusing when some brands did not provide schematic diagram. When that happen, the next best thing you can get is schematic from another brand which is never the same but then they are usable because they are from same factory. If you've enough reel, you will realize this fact very fast. Also its important to mention that because this reel is the same thing with other brands, people will tend to add some parts and remove some parts, most of the time its the bearing and bushings. If your reel have or not have or replaced or changed, not really a huge problem.

    Correct. All 3 three reels you mentioned are one and the same reel with a few parts differences here and there. All parts are all interchangeable with each other. Unfortunately replacement parts of all three are becoming increasing difficult to obtain to the point I no longer recommend ppl getting them, unless ppl are willing to treat them as disposable reels. Although these reels are not great reel but for the price they are sold in SEA region, its hard to beat. I would stay away from komodo nowadays, its better to get used tranx.

    6000 and 8000 are different reel and different size. Both reels parts is not interchangeable with each other. 5000=6000 and 8000=10000=14000. Parts availability in every region is not equal but usually not too hard to obtain compared to other brands.

  • @solunaranglingconfidante417

    Its not a problem. This reel have 2 clickers. The spool clicker and LL clicker. If the LL is too light, the LL system might not engage. What you're hearing is spool clicker. Same thing happen when the LL drag is higher than spool drag, the LL system will not engage as well (meaning if you set the spool drag at 1kg but the LL drag is 1.2 kg, then the LL might not engage or it might go on and off).
