Hello, my name is Mick and this is my 2007 VW T5 Camper van, Casper...
So what's the channel all about ? Well, this is my first ever VW camper van, which I'm very excited about and I hope to document any modifications I make to the van here. Along with all the new adventures I hope to go on, in the future.
I hope you will join me on this journey and I look forward to hearing your comments, advice and words of wisdom.
Thank you.

Thanks for this video it was very helpful, I've just lubricated the fan bearings with spray grease and very pleased with the result, no more squeaking and rattling, long may it last!
Hya. Nice video. I have a 2012 vw t5. But. When I have looked for twin usb port for mine. I draw a blank. Slight difference in size. Amazon have loads. But say it's for 2003 to 2009. Any idea. Best wishes
Thank you friend for this advice, I hope I can solve my problem... greetings from the Canary Islands, Spain
I'm going to have nightmares tonight. Be checking first thing. 😬🤣 Great job.
Hi I think you put the cover over the plastic wrong way
Nice Job
Hi.... I watched your video but it mentioned no passenger air bag. I found another video showing how to do this from underneath (it didn't mention air bags). I did mine from underneath in 20 mins.... if you do have an air bag then search for the video and its just as easy, if not easier. Here's the link to fix the T4/T5/T6 from underneath ....kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqGjvNSEiKi-is4.html
the foam bad idea will hold water and give you moor rust
My van is 2013 - is it still fuse 19 please?
super video thanks
Really useful. Thanks.
Brilliant. I’m trying this at the weekend as I can’t be having that noise when I drive to Italy in August! Thanks for this and all your videos
Fucking gold. Thanks mate.
Really really helpful, was so easy following your video to do my own, thanks ever so much
I've got the same base have done for 6months. Only used twice for longer stays. Today I learnt I Can face out the door 👍🏻. I presume there is no way of securing it in this position? Just thinking if on uneven ground it may was to slide towards the front of the camper
Is the fixing of the spare under the van the same on a T6?
Please keep them coming
👍
thank you, fixed it in 30 min!
Great creative modifications. You could snip off the push in plug for the rubber grommets. As you said, the cable won't come.out so no need for them. Given me some good ideas for our van.
If you look to the bottom left of the oil filter casing, you can see a lot of oily residue along the edge of the valve cover (cylinder head). Could that be attributable to the worn seal on the old oil filler cap or is that an indication of a valve cover gasket leak?
hi, did you buy the things you used to attach the net with ( 'nuts/knobs') separately, what are they called and where did you get them?
I had thought of doing that but a friend said that in theory the fridge should have some space above it for heat that comes from the fridge to dissipate, otherwise it would overheat, and the drawer takes that space. Thoughts please?
Very nice storage! Actually I'm thinking too to do it myself instead of paying hundreds euros/ pounds for this little pockets)
You can buy a slot in usb for your cigarette lighter which sits flush so very simple mod
An additional storage idea for the steering lock is to leave the mechanism open and hook it over the Back of the twin seat via the top of the seat belt cover.
Thank you Carl pilkington 😂😂
I’ve got fat arms but managed to do it this way too. For those with crap toolkits a 7/32 works on a 5.5mm.
Hope all is well with yourself. Looking forward to some more videos or some updates 👍
Looks bang on 👍
Blimey he likes glueing carpets.Gave me more ideas in my Bongo.Especially love the bin
We have one but once it’s swivelled around I want to be able to fix it in place but there no hole. So it feels unsafe as the seat moves around a lot. No good if you an to climb into roof and could also dangerous. Not sue our fitter has this the right?
You have around the same skill set as me, thanks for doing the groundwork. 🤙🏼
Intro too long imo
I agree, I have since shortened it 👍
Brilliantly simple! Thank you. Need to measure my T25
Thanks for your feedback Stewart, glad the video helped 👍
Are you still alive Mick? Have you still got your T5 van? I have a 2008 T30 which I converted 13 years ago and am still tinkering with storage ideas. Half man - half mega stretch carpet like your good self. Cheers, J😊😊😊
I am Jimmy, thanks for asking, had a bit of a ‘life’ change, so not been active on YT. But hope to be back soon with more outings and vids 👍
Had mine for 13 years and take it off once year to check the tyre, repaint and grease everything up. I installed a locking securing stud back then as t5 spare wheels were being pinched on a daily basis. Fortunately, I've never had a puncture in all that time so have never needed to drop it in anger at the side of the road. ( touch wood)
Nice idea 👍 no, I’ve not had to either 🤞
Brilliant m8 my fan stopped working in my caddy lot easy to get out I sprayed it up with wd40 now all working great
Great to hear Andrew, thank you for your feedback 👍
Lets have less chat and more action 😢
Watch out when it drops down .crushed my hand.
Yes,definitely worth being aware of 👍
Cringing for your Apple watch on that floor 😬
I know 🫣
Worth doing your pollen filter when your in there!
Great feedback, thanks John 👍
Mine does it,and there's no screws in it
Perhaps the WD40 will sort it 🤞
I have made the panel for the roof which acts as shelf to get stuff out of the way when the bed board is up. But have been thinking of an alternative curtain hanging arrangement as I can’t use the pole as the. Shelf is in the way. You’re idea of a baton across is ideal. So I’ve. Snaffled that one. Ta!
More than welcome Jenny, glad it solved your issue…👍
My t5 is doing this constantly, have cleaned contacts, havent got screw forcurtain rail there. How difficult is it to take the door card off? Lock works sometimes, not others, and won't open from inside either with handle.
Peter, taking the door card off is easy enough, albeit a little time consuming, but worth a look behind if it’s a simple ‘WD40’ fix etc…
Thanks for this, there is a lot of rust I've found in the bottom gully for the sliding door just below where you did yours, I've brought some rust treatment so hoping that will help, probably no point me actually painting it as the rollers will no doubt chip it off.
You’re welcome Helen, hope you get yours sorted. Thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍
Love your ideas, thanks for sharing 😊
Ah thanks Helen, really kind of you to say 👍
How do you remove the step panel? Thanks
Brute force and ignorance I’m afraid, but with a bit of care thrown in 👍 it’s just plastic clips on lugs, so just do a bit at a time moving round the edge of the panel…
The white boarding you used for storage. Where did you get that from? I have the same type of bed in my t5 and the bit where you have the shutter is just wasted space for me as I currently just have a "worktop" kind of setup. I love this idea to store all my things
I had a proper giggle when you realised you got it wrong. Love the fact you kept it in the video.
😂every days a school day…keeping it real 👍
