    All good points. The traffic in Cebu makes me nuts and I've driven in the heaviest traffic around in the US.

    It’s hot, but I’ve lived in places in the US that’s hotter 😂😂😂😂 But I also have to say that Manila and Mindanao are hotter than Cebu city

    Just a little bit of history regarding the use of spoons. Way back when the Philippines was colonized by the Spaniards, when they were teaching the native Filipinos dining etiquette knives were removed from the dining table because they were afraid that the locals would take the knives and use them as weapons. So Filipinos had to adjust with the use of the spoon .

    I tried talking to foreigners my age and older than me. I'm in late 40s now but even then when I was in my mid 30s, the guy who were 50s and up wanted the 18 to early 20s. I wasn't after money or a green card but it was hard for me that time to find someone until I eventually gave up. Love is a lottery for older filipinas.

    If you are working abroad and send 85% of your salary .2 yrs later you decided to go home and want to see your family of course.. They think , you have full pocket of money , expect gift from you. No sense of appreciation for the past yrs you accomodated their needs. This is my experienced and heard a lot same stories.. Our main point is to keep our parents financialy stable ..

    If one is in abroad or OFW this is the culture of filipino I don't like..more depends on the OFW and even asking more for their wants even his or her brother is married still depends on their OFW..so they're just counting the stars,sleep well,eat what they want go to parties but that person is so tired.

    Great video brother. Leans more to your perspective on city living and in relation to the guys living on 600....... you couldn't be further from the truth. Just like you, I'm still working age. From 2 businesses in my own country and a property rental business in spain I have just over 400k/month and the farm here is bringing in another 200k. We own our house and car here. I would actually be hard pressed to spend more than 800/month. We have a 3 bedroom house in the province and when I say the province, its in a first class municipality. I renovated it myself. It would put most expat rentals to shame. Its a far cry from living under a rock and using another as a pillow. From what it was when we bought it to what it is today with my own bare hands doing 95% of it..... I am proud of it. We eat mostly food produced on our own farm or nearby. A monthly grocery bill of under 5k. People come here in the hopes of changing their lives and yet cannot let go of their old lives. Yes, you can live reasonably comfortably here on around 600. You should try it sometime. You might surprise yourself. Now. If a guy is fresh off the boat then 600 is not going to cut it but as time goes on he will learn how to live here. Would I recommend coming here with just 600 monthly? Certainly not!

    Spoon is enough to cut even opening a can haha. . . The sign in crossing road or in between with other people, and that pasalubong thing. Well people here just know how to be courteous thoughtful polite unselfish and respectful. Karens will definitely rot alive here.

    I agree with you about all of it except for crossing the road. Drivers are not at all respectful or polite to people crossing the road. In America drivers are far more respectful and polite in this regard.

    ok then how other people do it then? if for example your boss is talking to someone in a hallway and you need to pass through them. how other people do it? just pass though like no one cares? I thought it's a global standard and not just filos do it.

  • @WatchCaliforniaExpat
    @WatchCaliforniaExpatКүн бұрын

    In other countries I’ve lived like the US or Australia people just walk by and it’s understood they just need to pass by people talking, nothing rude or disrespectful is happening to simply walk past two people talking. The people talking of course also understand the person needs to pass don’t stop because they are talking. In some cases the person walking might say the words “excuse me” and then the people talking would maybe say no problem

    There’s this study published about “pasalubong”. According to that study, giving pasalubong is a way of expressing “I remembered you during my trip, and I thought youll love this”. Or something like that. They also said that filipinos are not very verbal so we express our love better through these small gestures.

    Saying kamayan is weird is like telling the Chinese or Japanese that chopsticks are weird. What’s weird is Americans trying to eat rice with a fork instead of spoon. After all do you dig a hole with a spade or a shovel?

    lots of reasons behind those. but not all filipinos are weird re rain. and the spoon thing, yes, if you eat rice and soupy food, knife won't do. we do have weird things the west does, too - like how sensitive you all are with car horns. and stopping at pedxing when there's absolutely no one around. and how you wipe with just paper, eww.
