    I need to express my thanks for this video. I did the same installation on my car last week. The only difference is that I did not have access to a lift so I removed the front bumper cover and did the assembly on the ground. It added more time but it was really only 14 pop connectors. That 10mm bolt will be tricky if you’re working from below. I would advise that you use only genuine Subaru right and left brackets. The aftermarket ones are junk. I ordered the lens assemblies form Amazon but used the real Subaru brackets and hardware. This video covered it all and gave me exactly the details I needed. I suggest a flashlight to help find the clips since if removing the pop clips.

    Would this generally be the same way to perform this on a 2017 forester ? My air flow knob is stuck and can’t turn left past the foot air flow option !

    Common mistake at 3:10 would be final torquing that bolt until the car is resting on its tires (or you've jacked the hub to the equivalent of ride height). Otherwise, the bushing becomes twisted upon lowering the vehicle, which shortens its life.

    The seat track covers on mine were a 🤬to remove. Definitely disconnect battery and pull the airbag fuse. Let it sit for a while just in case, the last thing you want to do is have to replace airbags also.

  • @ts4143
    @ts414328 күн бұрын

    In the driver's side seat removal video he says you can wash or pressure wash the seat. That's a bad idea. Due to the airbag(s), and sensors (detect a passenger sitting and enable the airbag), and the heating "element" for heated seats - which looks pretty fragile - soaking the seats is a bad idea. A really bad idea. Seat have had to be removed and repaired, at great expense, because an adult or child in very wet swimwear got it wet.

    THAT IS THE INCORRECT WAY TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE. ALWAYS DISCONNECT NEGATIVE FIRST TO PREVENT VOLATGE TO COMPUTER. DONT OVER TIGHTEN THE BATTERY HOLD DOWN OR ELSE YOU WILL WARP THE BATTERY CASE AND BREAK THE THIN BATTERY PLATE INSIDE. NEVER OVER TIGHTEN THE BATTERY CABLE.THERE IS A PLASTIC SPACERS ON THE TERMINALS TO HELP YOU HOW FAR YOU CAN TIGHTEN THEM

    to remove the electric buttons panel, there is a screw under the rubber pad in the bottom of the dip/grip area then it well pop out. also remove trim piece around inner door handle or it will break when you pop the door card free.
