Hi and welcome to my channel🌻
My name is Germaine and I live in Switzerland. All the videos on my channel until 2023 are from my first garden. We relocated within the country in summer 2023 and my new/recent videos will be about my new garden in the Kanton of Berne, in a gardening zone 6.
Happy Gardening👩🏾🌾🐞🌻

What is the last plant of the video? With the red it’s gorgeous😍
'It’s the red Lucifer Crocosmia; a South African perennial. It really is gorgeous💚
@@theswissgardenvlog3189 i had a feeling thats what it was. Ive been contemplating getting it for the last few weeks but im definitely sold now. Thank u for your reply 💕
@@yvonnecortes_ Their blooms are captivating. I’m planning to transplant the ones in my garden in a more structured area.
Alot of work went into the making of this garden. It is amazing! Great job
Beautiful 😮 The transformation of this garden is amazing!
that can't possibly be enough soil right?
The arborvitaes seem to be doing quite alright in the containers. They have put on some growth since I planted them last fall. But they would be bigger if they were planted directly in the ground.
Beautiful items. I wish my local antique store had most of these things.
How tall will these get & how long will they last in that small container? I ask because I am planting arborvitae in a narrow area & am worried about their root health, as I understand they like to have their roots spread out.
They cannot grow as tall in containers as they would in the free ground. However they will increase in height and volume in the containers if they are fed regularly and given adequate water during the summer season. These containers have enough room for this plant size.
@@theswissgardenvlog3189 Great, thanks for the answer. For perspective - I'm in Colorado Springs & will likely go with emerald green. My planter is more of a raised bed & rather narrow (3ft) but long & will contact the earth. Thanks again.
A bountiful blessings 🙏
Adorable 🥰 And gorgeous harvest too 🫛
Love the Verbena Bonariensis behind the hydrangeas. I'm going to do that. It looks amazing!💚💜
Beautiful garden. What plant zone are you in?
This area could be the equivalent of a zone 6. But I don’t know for sure. Zones are not a thing over here, so it’s hard to say with certainty.
Welcome back! Nice garden ❤
Your garden is absolutely stunning. I love that you used the fallen trees to make the garden boxes. You are really getting to have a food forest now. Those that drive or walk by are greeted with such beautiful flowers. Take care, Annette 🌺
Thank you Annette💚💚💚
Good morning, Germaine. Your garden is looking great❤
Incredible transformation in only about 12 months. Fabulous job! 👍🏽💪🏽

You did a miracle to that garden 🌝👍
It’s a real blessing for us as a family to be in this new area. The outdoor space around the house adds a lot to our family life and I’m very happy to be being able to grow food and flowers here like I did at our previous location💚👩🏾🌾
Wow. Beautiful things. I could use a lot of these figurines. Lovely
Very nice onions 😍
Очень классный лук
😋
Nice harvest 😊
Hi Germaine. It looks like you got a great harvest nevertheless. Yours is ahead of mine this year--I've still got 2-3 weeks to go!
Asyik nih panen sayuran....❤❤
It’s a good looking harvest 🧄
Can you post what you used in the containers and why?
Great harvest nonetheless Germaine! Lessons AND food--- win/win🤩
It looks like a good harvest thanks for sharing.
Beautiful flowers 🌸🌹🌱👍🏼
Beautiful
Where did you get the containers?
About 15 years ago at a garden center in Switzerland. They haven’t changed at all.
Hello, Bee! 🐝 And those alliums are beautiful!
OMG, this garden is beautiful ❤❤❤. I love anything that has to do with plants 🌱 🪴. Gardening is very therapeutic. New subbie here☺️
Welcome and happy gardening🪴👩🏾🌾
Thats what I'm talking about. Nice
Thank you for the idea to use bamboo stakes, I have some, .always trying to use what I have! Don't the birds go after your berries?
Wow amazing
Those trees are huge and with these continius storms they are dangerous. I had to trim mine as well. Your garden is huge now. Enjoy it. Greetings Heidi not from Switzerland 😉 but close by 🌝💕
Hallo Schwester Heidi von nebenan😉 thanks for your comment, indeed our new garden is quite spacious and we can’t wait to see all the beautiful things we planted this year start to grow. Wishing you a blessed week ahead💕💚
Aww they always look really nice especially when they are 50% off 😂🫶
Hi, I see you having a little trouble with your raspberries. When nurseries pot up their raspberry canes for sale, they gather 5 separate canes and bunch them together using the brown/green tape that you see around your plants. The idea is that when you buy them and get home, you are to cut those tapes and plant your 5 individual canes separately. They are not one big raspberry plant! I hope this helps and saves you money too 😁
Thank you!!! I was about to rip it all up because it was falling over, but your video was very informative!! I will be transplanting to another area now! :)
Thank you😊
Wow amazing work cutting the trees.. wellcome to ur new home❤
Thank you so much 😊 it’s been quite a journey but we are very happy at our new place. I do have to start from scratch with this new garden but I’m exited to unleash my creativity on the space and watch it transform slowly😅
Efficient work 👌🏽
Always😉
Wow! Congratulations on your new home, Germaine. I hope it wasn't too hard leaving the beautiful garden you'd built at your other home.
Best
Thank you for the info! This will be my first experience with sedum period. I’m happy to know that dividing them is simple.
Absolutely. They grow so easily and barely require any care once established.
I love your hydrangea hedge! Absolutely gorgeous! 3:39 pretty 11:35 lovely 13:50 nice pumpkins Lovely garden, Germaine! TFS
Omg 😱, beautiful hydrangea ❤ Beautiful garden full color of flowers, thanks for sharing
Your garden is always so beautiful, thank you for sharing. I hope you get some pumpkins! Why did you take down your greenhouse? I was in Japan for 2 weeks recently visiting our son and our garden did suffer some even though my husband was home, he was really busy. Take care, Annette 🌺
Hi Annette🌸 hope your trip to Japan went as planned and that you had a great time visiting your son. I hope you were able to get your garden back into a healthy state. We are relocating to another city which is why I’ve taken down my polytunnel. Wishing you a great rest of the summer season💚
Wow, your garden is fantastic , its really filled out with beautiful blooms, the Annabels look fantastic, how many did you plant, ive started a hedge of them and wonder if ive planted them close enough together
Thanks. I spaced mine out very much when I was planting partly because I didn’t have enough plants at the time. And the first year, they looked like they could have been better closer. But now the hedge has filled out and looks great. I will be planting a new hedge of Annabelles in my new garden and will share the process so we can track the development over the years.
