This channel features video about places, mostly in the Washington D.C. area, that are of importance and of interest to me, because of their history, beauty, and/or context of life in the area. The channel is named after a major ocean current system in the western Pacific. The Kuroshio Current is the sister current of the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic ocean.

I have a question is the park itself free and the gardens and museums cost money ? I was looking to take my partner on a picnic there and wanted to know
Hi, The gardens are not free. If I remember, there is timed entry. Parts of the museum are free. Check the website for more information.
This video provides an excellent overview of the National Museum of the Marine Corps. I showed it to a group of people when we were en route to the Museum and they found it to be a great introduction. My only suggestion: turn down the volume of the music so we can hear the narration more clearly.
Hi, Thank you for your comments and suggestion. I appreciate both. I had to visit twice to get all the video and information needed for the video. It is a very well done museum.
roses are red, violets are blue there's trains and trams in my playlist two there ya go, that somehow rhymed :))
Is it easy to get into Fort Belvoir?
This is crazy nothing about the history of Georgetown university? Crazy.
Thanks for your comment. You are correct that the video does not mention any of the historic universities within the boundary of Georgetown. Clearly, there are several. I regret this shortcoming.
I had just passed by the museum yesterday! Thanks for the mini showcase 😮
You are welcome. It is worth a visit.
this video is great sir! thankyou for your content and information
Thank you for your comment. The Kuroshio Current channel has several videos on military museums which might be of interest. kzread.info/dron/jonnI_eqDGvu15sO6wC-rg.html
Since May 24, 2021, Taps is sounded each day at 5 pm
Hi, Thank you for your comment. I did not know that Taps is played a 5pm. I will have to check it out.
Beautiful memorial video about those who sacrificed so much for our country. Thanks for posting. Merry Christmas and
Thanks for your comment. I wish you a happy holiday season.
Thank you for showcasing beautiful Dumbarton Oaks. I will make it a point to visit before the year is up. Ashamed to say I have been in the area for 20 years and haven't visited.
Thanks for your comment. The Gardens are a special place with a very rich history. They are not visited as often as they should.
Excellent video!
Hi, Thanks for your comment. It is most appreciated. There might be other videos on the Kuroshio Current Channel that you find of value.

Hopefully, this new tourist line will be able to get more rolling stock. I mean, it's great to know of another new tourist line in the US, but knowing it's already growing in popularity, they're gonna need more engines and rolling stock for when it gets busier with time.
I've heart that 611 is supposed to be there in the fall, it was leaked but I don't think it's there anymore

Hi Jeffrey, Why not, it is a great day for a visit to the zoo!
Super cool! I need to get over there and check out the bird house
Hi Matt, Thanks for your comment. Definately worth a visit.
Their intelligence is amazing
Hi Laurie, Thanks for your comment. I never realized how much desterity they have with their trunk and how that desterity and intelligence combine to make such interesting viewing.
Love this video. So beautiful.
Hi Nancy, Thanks for your comment. There is a story behind these famous horses and I was lucky to get a chance to tell a part of it.
Beautiful horses 🐎 ❤️
Hi Maggie, Thanks for your comment. It was a delight to see them at the Rock Creek stables.
They so beautiful❤❤❤❤
Thanks for your comment.
So majestic. Thank you for all the info. Be kind to one another. Stay safe. Love to all
Thank you for your comment. It was rare treat to experience the horses up close. They are truely gentle giants.
@@kuroshiocurrent Don't you think they deserve to have there long majestic tails and not little stumpy amputated tails?
Now that the information is all out there concerning the disgusting inhumane practices of cutting off these beautiful tails! I really think unless they Budweiser stops lopping off the little colts tails they are not going to survive this scandal and this is inexcusable!!!
That is FALSE. The horses tailbone is NOT docked. Only the horses tail hair is trimmed off for the look necessary. Horses that are not presented before the public retain their natural tails. Stick to raising cain about dog breed tails and ears docked and cropped and stop spreading misinformation!
But I've heard they taste great.
@@David-ev2oo A tad to boney for me, I'll pass but I DO like deep fried Rocky Mountain oysters!
Thank you ! I am so sick of people pretending they love horses and thinking this is ok!

Hi Cindy, Thanks for your comment. I was lucky to get to see and film the Clydsdates.
In 1968,my vacationing family was locked in at ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY......We were too long freshening up at the "comfort station"adjacent to the CUSTIS-LEE MANSION having arrived there too late to see everything....When we tried to exit the Sheridan Gate,we found it was locked.....an Army Jeep from the Army post at the rear of the cemetery eventually arrived and the soldiers let us out.......
Hi Anthony, What a great story! Thank you for sharing. It provides context for video.
@@kuroshiocurrent thank you......I sent you a longer reply, but for some reason,Google/KZread declined to print it although it had NOTHING WHATSOEVER that would be deemed objectionable by ANYONE......
The most beautiful horses. We had Arabians.

This was an amazing video ! The level of detail and the narration were top notch ! You sir have earned a like and a sub! Great work
Hi, Thank you for your comment. It took several visits to the museum and additional reseach to produce this video. If you even get a chance, the Muesum is an impressive place to visit.
Awesome video!!
Hi, Thanks for your comment. The video was shot with a samsung cellphone on a DJI gimbal.
If you play the video in reverse, it's the assembly of two tower cranes!
Really well done! I've lived in the DC area most of my life and wasn't aware of a lot of the things in this video.
Hi MattsCats, Thanks for your comment. I learned a lot making this video. Georgetown has a more interesting history than I expected at the start of the video project.
@@kuroshiocurrent I actually filled out a volunteer application at Mt. Zion cemetery last night because of your video. Thanks!
horses are gorgeous the money could have gone to a more needy cause.
I guess you can say that about any business.
These horses are a treasure.
I rather seen these horses perform than a lot of no talented actors!that think they can sing!
Thanks enjoyed this; I have to add it to my museum bucket list. "This We'll Defend"
Hi, Thanks for your comment. The museum is very impressive and well worth your visit in the future.
Awesome video just visited and wow it was beautiful
Hi Coaster Crawl, Thanks for your comment. It took a few trips to the gardens to gather the information, take the videos, and do the reseach. The gardens are a little overwhelming and I hoped this video helped provide some context.
Thank you so much you did a great job of explaining everything I’ve been there I’ve seen it makes you want to cry
Thank you for your comment. As with all my videos, I try offer the viewer a story about familiar and less well-known landmarks. As you point out, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is memorial to a compelling National story.
Cool great vedio
BORING. SLOW. NOTHING HAPPENING.
And what 😳 are you providing for the world?
Thank you to all of the individuals who were responsible for the construction of this museum. And special thanks to all of our nation's soldiers both past and present!
Best cared for and loved horses on earth.
If you love your cat would you declaw it ? If you love your dog would you cut off his ears and tail ? Then why is it ok to cut a horses tail bone off?
@@farrierette5216 My cat has not been declawed. My dog's ears and tail were not cut off and my horses tails were NOT docked.
What a super video! Love these horses! Beautiful Gentle Giants 🐴❤!
Hi Birgit, Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed the video. It was a rare treat to get to see the "Gentle Giants" in person.
