Welcome to Daniel Roberts Music
This channel uploads video recordings of pieces of music.
The recordings of the hymn videos are embedded with onscreen verses/lyrics/words; some are embedded with scores, too.
The recordings of the psalm videos are sung to plainchant of the Gregorian Tones with the score onscreen.
The recordings of services are sung to plainsong and are usually Compline and/or Evensong for times throughout the year.
The recordings of organ pieces are here for personal enjoyment and are from use as preludes/voluntaries during services. Some are embedded with scores.
The recordings of recorder music are here from my own teaching and learning of the instrument and contain scores. Hopefully, they are help for beginners like myself.
The recordings of piano music are from my own time of learning the piano, from beginner to advanced.

Do you have a notation of this?
It is listed as ‘Thaxted’ in most hymn books. Let me know if you need any further help finding it.
@@DanielRobertsMusic. Can you send me a link so I can download it?

Thank you for posting this, I’m going to try to use this hymn for the Evening Prayer Service for the Sunday after Ascension. I just hope I have the lung capacity to chant this. Thanks for the Chant notation as well! Many Blessings!!!
You’re very welcome. I hope your Evening Prayer Service goes well.
This is lovely! ❤😊
Amazing! ❤
Beautiful! ❤xx
Thank you Daniel
You’re very welcome.
Lol, I found this in a Ukrainian book for learning sopilka. I had to check if John Pitts is a real person.
I had never heard of the Sopilka before, but I can confirm that John Pitts is a real person.
@@DanielRobertsMusic. We're both learning. :D Btw. I recommend the sopilka! It's a Ukrainian national flute/recorder. Pretty well standardised and taught in schools in Ukraine, this way I managed to obtain a textbook to learn to play. ;) Also you have a variety of sopilkas from soprano to even bass.
Awesome, lovely playing! Xx
Thank you xx
Amazing! ❤🎶
I’ve been looking for this! This is the setting chosen in the St Bernard’s Breviary!
I’m very glad that it’s been of use!
Thank you for playing that so beautifully. You are so lucky to be able to play like that. I really enjoied it very much. Thank you, and may the Lord richly bless you and grant you a special place in his holey heaven playing the Organ.
Thank you very much for your lovely comment. Blessings to you, too.
Hi, thanks for posting - I'm looking to use this hymn for our Ascension compline. May I ask where the chant/text is from, please (ie. which hymnal)? I'm having trouble locating a suitable copy online.
Hi there, If you use this link singtheoffice.com/year/2024 and find the Evensong for the correct time of year when this hymn would be sung, you could export it as a word document and use it from there. Let me know how you get on.
@@DanielRobertsMusic. Brilliant! Thanks so much for your help... and for posting the hymn in the first place!
wow!
Thank you.
