Such a powerful message.... on pollution and how it should be governed I wonder if councils and the EPA monitor current stormwater systems? How much of local councils budgets are allocated to fix outdated stormwater should one fail... and are they replaced by this new technology? Will our government listen to this because as much as I'd love to go to space I really love a good swim here on earth 🌎 The price of one coffee a month is a small amount for our future generations to enjoy our oceans and have clean water 💧 I watch alot of Sir David Attenborough and even he said stormwater systems are the main contributor to our polluted oceans and when Sir David says things..... we need to listen!!!!! Seems like these guys heard the man!!

Congratulations! Very good content! I am preparing myself to start a Master of Science by Stormwater Researchgroup at University of Sunshine Coast and speeches like yours motivate myself a lot! My challenge now is to find the right project for my master. [email protected]

Great concept for Local Government to consider. I saw a presentation from the City of Philadelphia Water Department on how they incorporate the cost of treating stormwater runoff which is included in the monthly water bill. Residential customers pay a standard amount based on the average surface area of impervious cover on residential properties and the average square footage throughout the city. For commercial customers, the cost to manage stormwater is based on the specific square footage of impervious area covering the property and the total square footage of the property. The city also has stormwater grants which provide financial assistant to non-residential property owners who desire to build green stormwater infrastructure to manage private property runoff. This is a completely different perspective when considering stormwater management compared with that in Australia. I think we still have a way to go before this becomes the norm...
