Hello Brother, Karna's bow was the superior one. Because that bow was the only left bow used by Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu during a Battle between them. One was broken by Lord Rama in Ramayana. Other was with Lord Parasuram. Karna got that bow from lord Parasuram as a gift. Karna's Bow is the only bow that has capability to hold the Most Powerful Weapons of Lord Vishnu, Bhramma and Lord Shiva. Arjun's Gandeev was Created Later inorder to Defeat Karna. the Oldest and Powerful Bow was Vijaya Dhanush.

First of all the weapon Ashwathama used according to the OG Mahabharata was Brahmasheer Astra not Brahmastra and 2ndly Ashwathama didn't killed the Pandavas son mistakenly he killed them being fully aware that they were Draupadi's five sons and not the Pandavas. They were killed when the 5 tried to attack and fight back Shiva possessed Ashwathama back in the camp on the 18th night.

Vijaya dhanush is given by lord parshurama to karna and it was given to parshurama by lord shiva where as gandiva was given by lord bhrama. Both weapons are equally powerful
