Glad to see you're living and loving life on SV Pilar. Beautiful islands! Thanks for Sharing - Larry
They are indeed. Too bad about Hurricane Beryl. They won’t be the same for years.
I’m glad you left before the hurricane arrived.
I'm going to change my AGM to lithium on our L48. Do you still think 1200 amp hours is enough?
Another great video, I really enjoy your channel. How long are you going to be in Grenada? I am headed down that way from the BVI in Aug.
Thanks! We are home in South Carolina for now. In October we will head south again!
Haha! We will try this.. Need to be in fairly good shape..
Not really. It takes less muscle power than trying to get in the “normal” way
Sandy is an awesome place. Nice you visited Paradise Beach Club, miss Allison is a good friend of mine and I helped out building several structures there.
It is an awesome place. All the boats look forward to it!
Our Biggest beautiful island 🏝 In the Grenadines Bequia St.Vincent 🇻🇨❤
Thanks for posting this informative video. I'm currently going over my generator and found this helpful. BTW I'm fortunate that my exhaust elbow is made of stainless steel
Glad it helped
Great video 🎉
Thank you 😁
I became rich here
Beautiful place to spend a few nights on anchor.
The aerial footage rocks!
Sail balance
I will have to try this. Nothing graceful about getting in the dingy from the water the 'usual' way! I usually end up laughing so hard that it takes me forever to get in!
Yep! I was a little anxious trying it at first but then it was so easy!
Great advice
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Very cool!
The Grenadines were our favorite area of the Windward Islands of the Caribbean. Plenty of small secluded anchorages. Beautiful beaches and great snorkeling.
Not a bad place to be marooned!
what happens on union island stays on union island!!!
Moonhole was built by Tom & Gladys Johnson. We used to go visit them often. Really nice people.
Absolutely right. I have the 1st reef in the main most of the time. My L50 sails better. This is partly because the genoa gives better drive because the slot between it and the main is a better shape. It also allows you to pull the boom down harder for a better leach shape. The battens in the main sould be parallel with the boom for best drive but you see most cats sailing with the upper battens far off to to reward (an open leach). This greatly reduces the forward drive of the main. With folding props, good sails, and good trim a Leopard can keep up with (and sometimes walk right by) many so called "performance cruising" catamarans. And going upwind I can see 7kts with a 32AWA and a 110 degree tacking angle (the angle read of the chartplotter so it includes leeway).
Nice explanation. What boat are you on?
Union Island was one of our favorite stops in the Grenadines. Lovely anchorages, beautiful waters and vies and friendly people.
as bad as most sailing channel,,, pathetic,, cheers
What’s your channel?
Mayreau is great! And you included a shot of Robert Righteous and de Youths World Peace Bar.......an institution! Cheers.
the best time ever!
such beautiful waters!
Tobago Cays are some of the best Caribbean islands all around. Beautiful water, friendly people and great anchorages.
You had me at Teal Blue waters🩵💦
You didn't really show "lubing the anchor windlass". More, "how to disassemble a windlass". You didn't even fully disassemble.
We showed enough to give you an idea
Canouan was a great stop, especially the Sandy Lane Marina yacht club and Scruffy's!
Bequia was a great stop for a more versatile island of the Grenadines. Fresh fruit and vegetables, upscale provisions at Doris's and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Fuel and marine supplies readily available.
LOVE Bequia!
You don’t know anything about st Vincent plus these boats you are talking about it’s tour boats blue Lagoon is private plus you don’t have a proper anchor
Don’t really understand your comment. We paid for a slip at the marina.
@@SailingPILAR should it be for free??
@@joylynfrederick3773 of course not! 🤣
Nice video, love the content! Climbing up to that fort looks scary
Did this solve the high pressure faults?
Not completely. We also had to adjust fan speed to automatic.
U must asked people about there Island, 5 to 6 whit sand beach not 1
Hmm. That’s what the tour guide told us.
We got the best out of St. Vincent for the short time we spent there. Blue Lagoon was great for getting a sorely needed boat wash, fuel and some good meals in the restaurant.
Hi …. Your are not anchored … you have picked up a mooring ball .. there is a big difference between anchoring and pick judo a mooring
of course we are on a mooring. but we don't hear alot of people calling it that. anchoring seems to be the term everyone uses whether technically they are on a mooring ball or using their own anchor.
The pitons were spectacular. It was especially awesome to be anchored between them for the night. A special place for sure.
Very cool video. looks like a fun hike. Glad the rope was tied tight you wouldn't want to fall and hurt yourself!
Whops video switched, nude sun bathing? I do that at home too Stephen good move, good for the body.
Do not buy ice cream from those places. I can almost guarantee that it has melted and refrozen several times due to unstable electricity. May your friends rest in peace.
Noted
Shame on the monsters
Agreed. Senseless. They should have taken the boat and left Kathy and Ralph alone!
These 2 lived their lives to the hilt. God BLESS THEM
Yes they did! We are sure glad we had some time with them!
i enjoyed your vid
What? No speedo suits?
another pathetic , borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring sailing channel,, like most of them,,,
Unlike Portsmouth there's no beach area in Roseau. Sorry you missed out.
Maybe next time!
Excuse me that has to be a small fishing area away from Roseau obviously fishy. You couldnt have moored in Roseau where it is even deeper right to the shore where the large ships dock at the two deep water harbours. The higher the mountains at the coastline the deeper the water.
We moored where the SeaCats mooring balls are. Are you saying the main city area is better?
Portsmouth I think is the best it's a bay. Roseau is Deepwater harbour. Ask Tourism.
Im currently choosing between thr Paradailir and a Symetical Spinnaker for our L48. What it the max air speed you can run ut downwind? I have heard some ripped at 15 knots.
We really are careful and try to take her down when we start seeing anything over 15. Depends on the wind direction and the wave height as well.
When you say orings, is that the large gasket between hatch and frame or is it a different part?
They are the small o-rings that fit behind the actual handles.
