Westerners can get by easily and earn much better thah local Asians. I don't know why you complained about working in Asia.
What’s the initial salary for a public school-is it a public school? Do you create your own lesson plans?
Unique window and neat view from your apartment. Seems cozy for 1-2 people.
Where you not having cpds or pds. This would help u grow in yr subject specification
Hubby speaks Chinese. 😮
He does! He went to school in Taiwan.
awesome advice, thank you. Im going through something similar right now and to hear your experience helps so much
I'm so glad to hear this resonated with you. Wishing you the best in your next season!
Gems were dropped, and seeds were planted! Your words of wisdom are always right on time, and your vulnerability and transparency are always appreciated. <3
Omg sisss thank you so much!! I was thinking about you earlier. I miss you my girl 💘
How did your job feel about your youtube and tik tok channels?
Not sure they knew about them tbh! I’ve been upfront about my socials & creating content moving forward though. It’s important I join a team/organization that shares similar values and wouldn’t have an any issues with it.
@@NneniaYasmeen That's it. And, if this is the name you use at work, they only have to google you to get here.
@@roundtwo3321 Right but it's important you read and understand any contracts you sign off on. You should be good as long as you're not violating anything you agreed to.
@@NneniaYasmeen Absolutely. And no one should judge you on your personal life, anyway. Fortunately, that's not my situation.
@@roundtwo3321 I'm sorry to hear that and absolutely agree you with you. I usually block people I don't want to find me and would rarely talk about it in the work place so no one grows curious. Lol
This is making me CRAVE waffles lolol
Rightttt? Now I want some! lol
I could you a management role within IT. No other way to say this but you would possibly need to modify your communication style to be a little more direct. You can be direct without hurting someone's feeling and consistency in treatment of staff is the key.
I’m an expat in Bogotá teaching English. I wholeheartedly enjoy my no stress, purposeful job. I never thought I would teach especially coming from a real estate career.
thank you for sharing your perspective! I'm currently in a similar situation, I'm feeling stuck in my country, with no job opportunities that excite me. I have considered teaching English because I would love to live abroad as an experience and have a decent job that won't be too demanding. but mainly, I'm in it for the travel. Even after one year, if I hate it I can come back, so there's no big damage.
Greetings from the US I just came across your video and I'm glad I did!! For someone who is considering moving aboard I was thinking of Taiwan!! This apartment seems absolutely perfect for someone just starting out and definitely would be on a budget!! I know you mentioned you teach but besides teaching what other opportunities are available for foreigners looking to make a New Start!! Any intel you can provide would be appreciated 👍🏽 as I would be leaving my home staye of Texas and moving there!! I enjoyed this video and again Thanks for Sharing🧡🤍🎇🤍🧡
How was experiencing racism in Taiwan? I'm in Thailand and I experience some racism, but its not quite like at home in the US. Do you believe that poc can lead happier lives more so living abroad or in the US?
I personally only had one blatant racist experience in Taiwan. I've heard incidences from other expats but it's a rare occurrence. I think it's up to the person to decide what makes them happy. I think that can be found in either the US or abroad for poc.. just depends.
6:41 We see you flashing that big rock. 😄👍🏾 Creeps, leave her alone.
Thank you for being so specific! 9:43 Does your husband do these videos with you sometimes?
Thank you for watching! He's been in a few of them but not usually.
0:16 That's an outstanding window! 2:09 Looks like a great place to do some stretching and meditation.

Sound spoiled...it's not a trap. It's a great opportunity
Sounds like a”Choice” rather than a “Trap” ???
An American can't teach English - impossible.
Essentially, the american dream is if you work hard you can own a home, start a family, and live comfortably. Not only are millennials and gen zers realizing that these privileges are no longer financially attainable in the US in these current socioeconomic conditions… they’re realizing that these things are basic human rights in other countries such as China and Vietnam. And instead of trying to learn from and implement their policies, the US media demonizes them and spews constant lies to suit the interests of the ultra wealthy. Working class people are not respected in the US and you can get way more out of life for significantly less money, time, and stress elsewhere. Hence why the new American dream is to leave.
The only things I'm really passionate about are languages and music, so I want to be an English teacher in China because I can speak Mandarin Chinese and I was born in America, so I can also speak English, I have litteraly zero friends I'm America, so I wouldn't be leaving much behind, and I just want to meet more people, to hopefully create a friend group, to hopefully get rid of my lonliness
This feeling is so real! Thank you for putting it out there.
Glad you could resonate. Thank you for watching!
Lol 😂😂Currently opting digital skills or teaching English in china when I move there ...and am scared as hell .
I'm 19 yo guy studying English in uni. I've got this idea of moving to another country and became an English teacher. There is very big BUT, I don't wanna be a teacher itself, my purpose is more in entrepreneurship and I would like to create my own online school. But living in Russia, war and etc. like pushing me to leave this place by any chance... Well, I'm confused. Btw I want to move in Spain, but that is so hard to find work there as English teacher because It's my second language
Traveling is such an important thing. Really builds a different perspective mentally. I traveled to Canada for Uni, I'm originally from the US, and I currently feel a little of that "starting all over" from a career perspective as I moved back to America. This is a completely normal feeling for human beings. Nothing is given to you in life. Life can be lonely and scary at times. But get back up, focus, and build something!!
It's only a trap if you go into it for the wrong reasons. If you're feeling stuck in life, feel like you have no purpose or direction, it can help ground you. I did it when I was 35 and it was the best decision I've ever made. Was it a career move? No, but the idea of a traditional 'career' these days is becoming less and less mainstream. I would prefer to teach and enjoy what I do than grind away in a job that doesn't respect my time.
I agree!
I agree. I got stuck near Shanghai with COVID, for three extra years. When I returned to America, I couldn't get back to my Los Angeles because I had been gone so long, my driver's license, bankcards, technology all had to be replaced, this took months and was expensive and almost dangerous. Then I imagined that teaching online would be OK, and it's terrible and low-paying. Schools in America all seem corrupt or just uninspiring and low-paying. I finally have an idea to do corporate training in another industry I know about, but who knows if that will work out either. I've tried to go to other countries, but each country has some problem or other.
Does a English teacher really Needs a bachelor's degree.
Yes!
I am studying to be a teacher I wanna go to Korea for 1 yr and Colombia for 1 yr then come back to USA to teach Spanish
I’m actually teaching abroad after graduating with my masters, I’m not concerned about the timeline of my career path, everything will work out the way it’s suppose to!
Thank you so much for your video, im really considering Taiwan. Ive watched different videos from different teachers in different countries, i feel like Taiwan is the best. I was thinking of Thailand before i found out about the cost of living. Thank you so much from South Africa
Above all you stated, there is tips to eat out, bills to pay, parking and toll fees.
Omg yesss! Parking fees & tolls add UP in Jersey. Whole new expenses
i like your energy
Thank you!
I was really unsure how I would go about teaching the students. Thank you! This video gave me an idea. ♥️🌸
Glad it was helpful!
Your version of "stuck" doesn't actually sound so bad compared to being stuck in a dead end job in America. Thank you for making this video! It is helping me as I contemplate if I want to live/teach abroad :)
Yes it was just a figure of speech but stuck can look different for everyone! It's an extremely fulfilling career if that's what works for you. No right or wrong way to decide what's best for you. :) Thank you so much for watching and hope my channel can be helpful in your decision. 😄
Gurrrrrl wow😂
Right!! Lol I miss it
Do you have to have a degree to teach English in Taiwan? I've heard different things, that the bigger schools require it, but you can teach private students without one?
I taught in public school with a degree in Biology. To get a higher paying position in an international school I believe you need a degree in education (not sure of these requirements). There are also the private institutions known as cram schools. They have the most lenient qualifications & requirements.
@@NneniaYasmeen Thanks for the prompt reply, I had just discovered your channel and watched the first two videos of after you moved to Taiwan. I see you've had some big life changes since then. I want to binge watch and catch up with the new developments in your life, and since it's so cold here in Michigan and I'm staying inside, now is a great time to do that, haha. I love the relaxed and nice pace of your video style, and thanks for being open and real in describing your life's adventures!
Thank you so much for the support! I'll be uploading more vids & life updates soon too. Lol stay warm!!@@doninmichigan
For me it’s safety. I’m doing okay financially but if you live in a major city in America fun violence is real. I lived and taught in the Middle East and I felt quite safe.
not just the cities, the entirety of America is unsafe. The only time I took a road trip in America resulted in me almost being carjacked at a Conoco in rural Oklahoma. The carjackers were hiding INSIDE the gas station and the surveillance system was "under maintainance" (aka criminal employee aiding and abetting their criminal buddies). Do not underestimate rural crime. Businesses literally working with criminals. You never hear about it because it doesn't grab the headlines like urban crime.
Thank you so much for all of your information!!! ❤
Which website did you use to find your job ❤😊?
Omg. Sound like a teenager. What dont u want😂😂😂
I just commented on your Bustle video and realized that wasn’t your KZread. So, if you gave a work visa you can stay in Taiwan so long as you’re working? How long was the process? What was the cost? Thank you. Do they mostly like non-Asians for teachers? My kids are mixed Taiwanese Americans and want to live in Taiwan. Thanks for any info.
Hi! Glad you found me. Your work permit will be valid for the length of your work contract. It took a few weeks to come so I flew in on a travel visa because it's valid 90 days and applied for the working one once I got there. I think it was around $100 USD . They prefer native English speakers from US, UK, CA, SA.🙂
@@NneniaYasmeen thank you! You have a new subscriber. Very informative. My mom is a citizen but I am not. Just learning more about this process.
I’m starting my TEFL course in January. I have already lived in Spain for a year on a Study Abroad programme. This video is very helpful so thank you for sharing 😊
Really the title is just click bait I hate videos like this literally didn't explain at all why its a trap you just talked about yourself for 10 minutes. That's fine but label the videos accurately so people don't waste 10 kin of their life listening to you talk about yourself
I just waiting on brics so i can be under asslyum status and leave
Where are you leaving from?
Simple find Jesus find contentment. If you have food and water on your table, clothes on your back, and a shelter over your head. You are bless. And let’s face it a lot of us have way more than that we just fail to see it because we are to busy looking at other peoples blessings therefore fail to see our own. 💡. Don’t get lost chasing the dream live for the day and enjoyed what it has to offer. So many people forget to live while chasing that they end up breathing but not living.
I can definitely agree there's room to assess what's a necessity vs luxury and comparing oneself! There's a lot to be grateful for too but room for improvement on all sides. Thanks for the comment. 😀
If you talk to the International community (people who moved here from other countries), they will tell you that the American dream is alive and well. The problem is most people are trying to live a very convenient lifestyle. Convenience is the new currency 💴 here in America, meaning they don’t want to do much. If you’re not hustling here in America you’re going to have issues. You’re living in the best country in the world and giving up privileges that many people all around the world would die to have. Plus you don’t know what the culture of the politics are in these countries, the cost of living is very high in these other countries. Work hard, become educated, network and you should be okay here in America 🇺🇸
I'm familiar with this take from the International community! I think it's true there are people outside their means and wanting unnecessary things for little output but. I can say there is a lot that can be improved for the ones showing up everyday "hustling" and still struggling. You're community & the privileges it has access or knowledge to have an affect on these opportunities as well.
Immigrants from Venezuela literally are moving back because they don't think the American dream still exists
I am International lived in the Europe for 10 years now in the US for 2 years! Yes American dreams are dead! Only people from Venezuela or Haitian the American dreams are still alive!
It depends on who you’re asking, I personally know people from the International community whose getting their college degrees, working, starting new businesses and jobs, and buying homes. That’s the text book definition of the American dream folks. You have to work hard for it, nothing is going your way be given to you here. And they’re still receiving government benefits on top of that. You got to network and take advantage of every opportunity that’s out here. Complaining is not going to get you anywhere.
Whatever you are saying is the story of the past!! If you are offended with my comments then I don't mind! Because the US is fucked up now with illegal immigrants and I can see the inflation, safety, and discrimination at the highest level now! I have a PhD and working as a scientist! Get in reality, dont teach me the textbook definitions! I have read textbook books more than Yku have ever read in your whole life!
Hey thanks for sharing this video. I appreciate your thoughts on the subject. I think the American is to be debt free. If the American people didn’t have so much debt, I think we would be better off. We could definitely save like adults should. Also I think the American dream seems out of reach because most of us don’t really understand the corporation we live in. We have been told so many lies as a people which got us to this point. But I agree with the fact that the journey to wealth in America is Exhausting. Especially when you have a lot of debt. Not gonna lie. I’m considering teaching English abroad for a more easier way of life. SK, China are my top 2 countries.
Debt is a great call out too! & the opportunity to go abroad is a great option imo. Somethings (like debt) can't be ignored though even if you're abroad. 😩
@@NneniaYasmeen yea I agree unless you get citizenship somewhere else and never come back lol. I want to teach abroad. I’m considering it. But I’m 32 so if I do, I should probably stay abroad. I saw your video about making the transition depending on where you’re at in life. It made me think twice lol
