Playing guitar at home… on two…
This channel I want to represent that part of my musical day where I do not play at the limit of my ability, no rules, no expectation, just goofing around and having fun. Creative development relies heavily on this part of your musical day.

Lovely sounds you’re getting there. I’ve got my eye on the UAFX Galaxy cos I miss the sound from my old tape delay. I have the Brigade on my board and it is an exact emulation of my old CE1, but gives out a stronger signal, so I keep the level right down on it. What’s your take on the Galaxy?
I think it is really great, and in addition to getting the sound right which actually isn’t too hard. somehow does impart that mojo that the space echoes have. If you look at my videos leading up to when I bought it once I bought it I stopped and redid my entire board around it. Lol.
Great! I’ll check that out.
Lovely Soundscapes..Mood 2 is amazing.. Onward on the way this week.. can't wait...
Amazing sound. This is what I hear in my head. Please help me understand how you’re achieving this. Is this all from the guitar only?
Yeah maybe I’ll do a breakdown video of this setup. It is basically a combination of looping, micro looping set up to react to my playing
Is it the microcosm doing everything? Tryna understand what’s going on
digging the tones
Ok I had to go look at what I had going on for this one. The Mood and the Microcosm are doing the background stuff. Stretch is set to latching and to slowly fade and the Mosaic just does what it wants. Personally I prefer to record loops dry so mono early in chain is fine for me. Oh looks like I captured a loop at the end with the Count to 5. I am recording directly into my iPhone from the 276 into the Shure Motiv video app. This whole setup is built around getting in and out quickly, I can turn on/play around for a few/ and get out quickly. I have been really resisting getting into a home studio or tracking setup only because it would suck me in for hours lol
Nice sounding chain! I see the Microcosm (look's to be set) very low in the mix... nice idea - is that the gentle ambient tones in background? Is there another pedal contributing to this? I have never used Blooper but would love to try, alas the mono has discouraged me from buying it and I've already got Aeros LoopStudio - BUT - I would love some of the twisting and changing of the loop's it can do! Also - I have never used an interface for recording - I started using the Zoom H6 as a 3 stereo channel recorder then moved to the Zoom L12. I am getting great sounding recording's then dump the files into Logic later on. It's nice having the computer for software synth's and playing track's in layered song's and not worry about computer "crapping the bed" during a recording but I guess crashes and glitches are probably a thing of the past? Anyway - nice tones and playing - Keep it up - Pedal's and exploring sound is my Prozac!
Amazing sounds. Keep this passion going
Thank you very much I appreciate it!
I liked it. Very good setting.
Lovely sounds
I farted.
You got some really nice layers going there. I have a question on your setup. How are you using the JHS buffered splitter?
Thank you! The signal chain is: Comp>gain>eq>loop>micro loop>splitter Splitter out 1>(currently)Digiverb>Wash>iridium Splitter out 2>ir200>then stereo effects loop>mod>delay(currently) I think I have this layout dialed in. My next video will probably be the final signal chain this video I was still trying to figure out what works.
gaze on
Lovely to listen to in the background! Excellent work!
nice😊
Awesome channel. Glad I was recommended this today.
That's an interesting board and nice to see a mixer on there. I run several parallel signals and have the 8ch version. I see more and more of us with mixers on our pedalboards and I'm looking forward to the day when Mackie (or someone) produces a pedalboard friendly mixer. Good video, I've subscribed. Cheers.
I had a home studio from about 1986 through about 2012. Home studios are a rabbit hole that make pedalboards look silly lol. I think my board is slowly just turning into my small home studio but more like a sketchbook studio I guess? Thank you!
I have the same mixer!! I love the set up my guy!!!
Thank you! I am having the high pitched squeal issue with the Joshua pedal, gonna have to try some alternatives tomorrow
Can you please talk about what other pedals you used apart from the blooper to create this sound? Sounds great!
Im gonna have to look at this video again and see what exactly I was doing!
Ok the main contributor aside from the Blooper is the Zoia. I was running a granular patch I made with pitch shifting, LFOs, filters delay, vibrato. If you own a Zoia go to Patchstorage and look for Interstellar EVA. Theres also the mood, DMM, and cloudburst but I think it’s Zoia that really made that one different.
Brilliant
Your strings are louder than your plugged in tone. Nice setup though man.
If you mean while my microphone is live yeah it’s a super cardioid pattern, but it’s still picking up my acoustic tone
@@athomeontwoI was having a hard time hearing the pedals, just thought I would let you know.
Ill have to go revisit this video with some headphones on and see what you’re talking about? I did not think it was that exaggerated.
@@athomeontwoI am not sure, but it sounds like there is a parallel clean signal, making it harder to hear the pedal.
Bro do a vid on tuning
Hmm interesting, I might have to actually practice to do a video on it. Lol.
Ohio
Tone 😊
diggin this. what's that pedal you have on the bottom left?
Empress zoia
Yep Zoia!
☕️
I'll be damned for watching this. And what are "Flatwounds", Supposed to differently; opposed to round or whatever?
kzread.info/dash/bejne/l4h13JqwfK3ccbg.htmlsi=3eXsHtET_SwmNbbz
There’s a number of reasons I think people use flat wound strings in all honesty I never really used them. Slide players use them. I know jazz players use them it softens up the transient if your finger picking, which is why I wanted to try them on this guitar.
What an easy like and sub. I just booped 🎉
Thank you!
Really great 🙌
Thank you 🙌
Sounds Awesome! Is this available for download by chance??
Interesting, I never really thought about having this available for download. Something to think about! Thanks!
Mate I was thinking about your last vid wet wet wet. Do you think the beam splitter would be good for that ?
It looks like a very cool pedal. Ultimately, you’ll end up with three outputs that’ll have to be sent somewhere. In my case, yeah one to the iridium the two stereo outs to the IR 200 but those outputs would still have to go out through a mixer or whatever source you want to send them to. You’ll also have to like the gain stages they chose. I find that old blood noise, endeavors pedals dominate whatever signal chain they’re in. I’ve always had a hard time integrating them.
Side chained process is the future, great sounds! I'm using a stereo rig powered by a Peavey classic 50x50 st, tube rack amp and an old Yamaha keyboard rack mixer. My pedal board connects via DB-25 to TRS to the mixer. Connections are easy with the cable interface, no way to screw it up. It incorporates stereo delay / stereo reverb / stereo side chained synth channel / +send and return for a mic preamp located in the rack. ,,so it's a rack with a Peavey Classic 50/50 stereo amp, Yamaha MV802, ART mic preamp. I can set up for a live show and be tuned up in about 15 minutes. Synth channel is a Superego+ and a BlackHole reverb, I can actually send it elsewhere if I wanted to, like another amp or to the board. The mic is for when I switch to flutes through the pedalboard and amp.. cool stuff. MIDI automation for the switching is so useful that I have embraced the inevitability of it. = Parallel process is worth every hassle and trouble for the glorious sound of it. We are on the right track with it all. Consider some rack gear, especially the mixer part ,it makes it easier in a way. Build your own TRS or DB-25 interface for the pedalboard. Just ideas to kick around.
I actually did that in the 80s lol it’s funny how I avoided pedals for probably 15 years finally started dipping into them when my home studio became too much of a beast and somehow I’m slowly returning to a home studio outboard gear set up. I was the weirdo in 80s. I had a stereo digital amp, gallien Krueger 2100 SEL with an ART SGE controlled via midi with a rocktron controller. This is the golden days for buying vintage rack gear most of it you can get for under 200 bucks save for the few legendary pieces.
How are you liking it? Any chance you’d do a full review?
You know I’ve thought about doing a little more in-depth but the only reason I bought this one is because it’s the only one I’ve seen that does a JC 120 model. I own a JC 120 from 1985 so I guess I’m a little bit of a snob for that sound but I’ve finally started to get it to sound similar. I’ve been a little dismissive on the modeling stuff. I still prefer amps I just can’t in my new environment.
Oh wow! Signal chain? Process flow? DIP switch settings? Please share. My ears did a doubletake. The algorithm was just auto cycling ambient videos and I had to stop what I was doing to subscribe and take it all in. Thank you!
OK compression gain EQ out to volume pedal back up into sonic maximizer Analog delay into IR 200 Effect loop Joshua delay microcosm mood mkii cloudburst generation loss back into IR 200 Out of IR 200 Roland Pro X mixer directly into my iPhone with the shure motiv video app I probably recorded a loop into the microcosm with the volume pedal and built up the micro looping through some overdubs, microcosm looper pre-effects
I loved my MKII even more once I got a full understanding of the dip switches, the hidden features, and hooked up the MIDI sync option....................great upload.......
I just ordered the Analog-man Sunface 2SB171. Can’t wait! 👍
You should do more pedal demos 👍
I thought about maybe doing one per week or something the amount of time I have to spend on increases a lot if I want to do it I the way I envision it. I like the idea of doing a live stream more, but I gotta get to I think 1000 subscribers first
Oh, the third mod was the delay time modification
Ok, just checked out your other vids for the signal chain. Way cool man
Thank you I appreciate it. Part of me resists getting more involved with the videos because it takes a lot more time to do them.
Super smooth. What’s the signal path? you have a CT5 next to a Habit. . impressions?
I love the count to five and the habit for me is similar to the mood. You’re always finicky with It comes and goes, but you always miss it when it’s gone. The stereo stuff is in the effect loop and the mono stuff is running directly in
Very soothing sound my friend 😇
like to hear just the pedal on dry signal
I typically don’t do out of context stuff. I always debate whether to showcase the pedal solo. I’ll do a quick video of what it sounds like on it’s own with my settings this week.
Sounds beautiful. 👍👍👏👏 Mood Mk II is one of my top favourite pedals 🖤
This is my second mkii and also owned a regular Mood. I always pull it for space then end up missing it lol..
Beautiful. How do you have the dip switches set up?
I only have the latching switch engaged. With the hidden options I also have it fading out on the looper side fairly quickly as well as I turned the balance to the looper side. I don’t know maybe two 3 o’clock
Ahhh. Dream pedal.. you got the limited edition ❤❤
I liked that build before the guitar chords came in & a sweet ending. Very nice. cheers
Yeah, that’s kind of the way it goes with improv. You just gotta kind of dive in sometimes it works great sometimes it’s not so great lol
Very beautiful. Are you on the ambient fam discord ? I think you would like the community if your not.
I dont typically use Discord, maybe I’ll check it out!
Very cool
nice review. so basically if you have a pedal that can run stereo, you have to plug 2cables in the two left jack in the Mixer?
Yeah the input on the left side is two 1/4” L+R
Yes please, would love a walkthrough..
Awesome DH
