In his prime Peter Shilton was fantastic. As a shot stopper and organising his defence, he was peerless. In the air he was not so hot and, by 1990, when penalty time arrived he was terrible.

What a day, what a night. My first Goodison game. Stayed in a B&B and walked about a mile back from the ground before I could get a bus. Was frozen solid by the time I got back. Went out that night to a club on West Derby Road and met a rather mature lady, shall we say who thought it was far too cold a night to wander all the way back to my guest house as she lived just a couple of streets away ;)

Best compliment i can give Derby is what a grest side spurs had then. Was only about 7 yrs old and cant remember much about Dave Mckay but what a player even in his later yrs. M ot M. Read a few auto biographies and each one emphasized how great a player Mckay was. Now i know why. O'hare, Durban,Hinton what a forward line. Great times!!!!!

One hell of a Christmas. Went to Sunderland the week before and this result made up for the result up there. Pembridge might have had his critics but he had a great left foot and scored many decent goals. Can always remember a hat trick at Luton in the FA cup in a big win.

I don’t blame the refs, if they gave the right decisions they would “disappear” as it was during Franco’s reign and he is a Real Madrid fan (who basically turned Real Madrid into a monster and ni we was not a good guy
