    I did the same and disconnected the hose coming for. The converter , I turned on the engine in intervals of 3-4 seconds and making sure to keep adding so it doesn’t run dry

    "bottle jack that comes with the car" nope, it is a scissors jack. My small bottle jack is too tall for the usual jack points.

    Yeah I had a real hard time getting the oil bolt loose. The mechanic also made the oil filter really tight as well. I had a tool though that fits over the end of the filter but even with that it was hard getting it loose. The new filter has a rough surface on that end so you can grip it good for a hand tight. That surface won't allow for the tool.

    I know it's a older video but man I was pissed today. I just got a 2012 and was going to do the trans fluid. There's so much plastic under this car it doesn't even make sense. I really miss working on my Cobalt SS already. On the balt there are tons of very safe jacking points all over from the K memeber up front to the frame rails and rear sub frame. I've never had a car fall off of a jack and this is the first car it's happened to me on. Lesson learned on this car for sure. Now what I do is use that little spot at the front to lift up the front wheels then I put my steel wheels and 2x4's and sit the car down on the pinch welds there. At least then it has no chance of moving. A bit scary working on this Honda. If I had it my way all that plastic would have to go as well. Anyways thanks for the video.

    After filling and going to all the R,Nand D like you did. When checking the fluid correct level. Does it need to pass the x x x range? Like does it need to be on hot area of the dip stick?

    Never use the jack stands he uses. They have all been recalled for catastauphic failure. Only use the kind that has a solid pin holding their height.

    Just an extra tip I learned from my 300zx that sits low. Get some 2x10 by 3 feet boards (like decking board) and drive the car onto the boards before jacking. This raises the car and makes jacking and inspecting underneath much easier.

    This video was literally more clear then the dealership and my user manual 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Been jacking this car up for 10 years and didn't know about the arrows haha. Usually just use the jack points on the sides, but I needed to get both front tires up at the same time....damn directional tires lol.

    Should've filled up the oil filter with oil before installing it. Because now when the oil pump tries to pump the oil then there will be a lapse where the oil pump could be damaged. Also you should've left the drain bolt out and let it drip longer while you changed the filter. New filter goes in first before the drain bolt.

    Thank you! Made it super easy to take care of my oil change and figure out where everything was. Super clear instructions My 2012 civic oil pan bolt was a 14mm tho

  • @carlovanrijk4039
    @carlovanrijk4039 Жыл бұрын

    jessicamessica, typically the drain bolt for the Honda Civic is a 17 mm if it was from the factory. But an aftermarket drain bolt may have been purchased at an auto-parts store, and that could be why your drain bolt is a 14 mm. Just a thought.
