I watched your video before I bought same fridge hoping that mine will be fine. Nop same problem as yours and service guy came to my house and after inspection of freezer door he said. That is the way how they built them. Nothing wrong. He said right track is primary with rollers and left one is secondary without rollers and I should not be opening freezer doors from the left side. that's not glue... it's plastic protection film that is stuck to the stainless to protect it. It is removed (probably by your delivery man) after delivery. Sheesh. Razor blade!

Appreciate that but the protection film is blue and yes when peeled off, alot of it gets caught in the creases which I use a a plastic scraper to remove - very easy. This stuff was brown and extremely hard - similar to construction adhesive - it could not be scratched off

Seems like the ones with bells and whistles are really sounding the alarms to the questionable workmanship & quality issues, these days. Im totally okay plopping down 4k for a refrigerator, but if i have to fix it and or replace it, might as well buy a 1k refrigerator if they are all crap...

They sent a new door for the wrong size of fridge and when the service guy came to install it he pulled out the fridge, dismantled it and then discovered it was incompatible so reassembled it and when pushing the fridge back in place, he dented the face to both upper doors. Service call number 3: came back with two left upper doors and bottom drawer. Service call number 4: they agreed to send a brand new fridge (win for me right??). Movers opened the box on my driveway and said something sounded funny so the y opened the doors and all the glass was shattered (I took pics for KitchenAid to see). Finally after close to a year they gave me new fridge that was fine cosmetically and after about a year of use the fan in the upper fridge is making a clacking noise when it starts. And every time there was a service call I had to take the day off work.

Good ol American quality. I wanted their 5 door/drawer model, which is a fantastic looking unit but it’s considered probably the crappiest fridge out there. Saw the same insulation and poor fit as you showed on a floor model. My new house is coming with this garbage..gotta see if I can swap it out somehow

If it had cosmetic issues, should’ve rejected it and request another one. Kitchen aid is the best out there hands down
@6.2ltrv854 жыл бұрын
Best by or compared to what? Its a middle class income family refrigerator. WOLF and or SUB ZERO are the best you would want for any upper kitchen and any upper class family would have. Kitchen aid is a whirlpool refrigerator, that is who makes them and they only have a few cheap add-ons like drawer liners as you can see don't fit and a couple gimmicks and maybe a longer warranty which they just put in the price. Otherwise they are identical motors, interiors etc.
@dylanr12004 жыл бұрын
6.2LTRV8 Thanks for the history lesson but I already knew all that. Without going with non main stream options kitchen aid is a very high sought after product. Whirlpool also makes Maytag which makes high quality items.

@faust4515 жыл бұрын
My understanding is the KRFC is the counter-depth version and the KRFF is the standard-depth version of the refrigerator. I believe the doors themselves are the same, regardless of which depth cabinet they are attached to. As such, I am betting it is possible to get a KRFC version with the same quality control issues. A shame really, as KitchenAid is a subsidiary of Whirlpool and pitched as a step up from the Whirlpool line; the fit and finish should correspondingly be a step up.
