    People need to have a balance with how much time they consume the internet. Go outside, read a book, learn something while you're at it.

    oh THANK YOU SO MUCH for the recommendation of extensions. I almost didn't use Twitter because it seemed like there was too much information attacking me at the same time. And I didn't want to watch KZread shorts either. They are really useful to have a clean, less stimulating page <3

    artist alleys have become my favourite part of conventions besides cosplay. i find so many amazing pieces of art and merchandise of my favourite things which are sometimes really nieche and most of the time have no good official merchandise if at all. these artists are the one's that really know what the fancommunities like and want and they never disappoint. also having a chat with the artists and fangirling about the characters you are buying a keychain of is such a fulfilling experience. if i ever get to have my own small collection and booth, i'll probably spen all the money i earned right back at other artist's booth lol thanks for the insight on how a convention as an artist can look like!

    I went through this a few years ago. Getting off facebook, twitter, Reddit, and instagram did me a WORLD of good. I’m on TikTok and considering dropping it because of how much it sucks me in. Twitter is so bad now too. The algorithm is broken and all it does is peddle entertainment news no matter what I follow, mute, or block

    There's a local con for me that has a similar problem of having waaaay too many vendors. It is a growing con, but they had artists packing up early last year (from poor sales) AND STILL thought it was a good idea to add even more tables THIS YEAR. I think some conventions just need to reduce the artist alley and stop trying to expand. It feels like they don't actually care about anything except the money that comes from selling more and more tables. I hope someone who works with Awesomecon sees your video and tries to learn from it.

    If a position opens again in the future, you can always try again. The time you have between now and then would help you getting further through. Regardless of what happens though, good luck 🙂

    I like a lot this video, but shouldn't the title be "How handwriting *can* help to improve your drawings"? I think the reason for that is because in handwriting you use your fingers instead of using your elbow or shoulder. By the way, I think the real takeaway from this video is that there are many handwriting exercises that can be adapted to drawing. Which I agree and I have done a lot to improve both my linework.

    I have an issue with my writing. I'll start writing on a story for like a week then I'll get "burnt out" of that story and move onto a different story, then another, then another, untill I'm back to the first one. Throughout all of this I want to get feedback because I want anything I'm writing to be as good as possible, but then my brain constantly feels like no one can give unbaised criticism. I'll go to friends who just say they like it and the ideas it presents even when I try to push further they can't give much detail (Also I let some of them co-wright once but it felt like they had a fundamentally different view of the story I thought I was putting out), so I check online for places I can post it but feel like it's either too negative or too positive for new writers which leads me to never actually getting my story out there and making me feel like I've written far too much for it to ever be good again if there is a problem with my writing.

    the advice was really good and also YOURE SO RIGHT ZUKKA HAS THE BEST FICS. ive been obsessed with fics that take place in the royal palace in caldera with like zuko being firelord and servants and arghhh! sokka and zuko are just so perfect either as bros or as boyfriends. im a teenager rn and ive been drawing my whole life and have absolutely no other plan other than art and ive been really afraid lately whether that will be possible bcs of AI. it would be easier if i lived in america too but i live in buttfuck serbia where there are no major studios and no respectable art unis that would teach me about industry jobs other than an animation in engineering major at a more IT focused university. that means that ill have to work really hard but im sure i can do it if i put in the effort. im similar to you in the way that even though im an artist i struggle with being creative a lot, the art i draw looks good, but its so hard to make it tell a good story. im so jealous of how easily storytelling comes to some people when i struggle so much at it but i hope thats something i can work on since one of my dreams is to be a comic artist ;-;

    Could you provide any studies that demonstrate a connection between handwriting and artistic ability? If such studies exist, please share them. Otherwise, it seems like this might be your opinion, which is perfectly fine, but I initially understood it as being backed by research. This all sounds like your opinion. There are many art styles and it feels like you are putting art in a box.

    I watched this video around when it came out. 6 months later and I’m now a commissioned artist, I sketch almost everyday and I make my own creations. People ask me about how I do it and in the end of the day I realized I need to create. It’s that simple, I hope you are doing well and thank you so much!!!

    Honestly this video made me tear up. Like I've had all of these thoughts in my head and hearing you vocalize them so clearly and with so much understanding and empathy made me really emotional. I have been pushing art to the side because I always feel frustrated when i want to start again because I don't know what to make and everything i draw doesnt feel authentic, genuine or fulfilling. But this video really did give me some of the courage back to try again and be patient with myself and keep working on my problems instead of ignoring them. Thank you for being so honest and kind. Lots of love, Habibah <3
