I'd love to own a lot more of Snap-on. But I'll never understand the sense of overinflated arrogance "some" of these tool truck guys have. If it's a tool you feel you can depend on that does the same thing in real-world use, get it. I've been using tools for around 40 years now, ever since i was a kid with my dad's Craftsman and SK. I'll never hate on tools that'll do the same job in a skilled persons hands because they didn't cost 400% more.

I have snappy metric and sae wrench sets, and Icon metric set, just went and picked up 2 more Icon metric and one Icon sae set since the price was $70 each. I have not had any issues with the Icon and at $70 a set they are the best bang for the buck by far. I also picked up the new Icon Master Ball Joint kit, for $200, all I can say is WOW

Limited lifetime warranty for the orginal purchaser. Tried to get some slides warrantied on a icon box i got on FB marketplace. They wanted my phone number and saw i didn't have a tool box to my name. Several stores told me to pound sand the warranty was for the orginal owner its not like lowes and craftsman. Traded my box in for my current Cornwell Platinum cart and side cabinet . You got your own walk out music like Goldberg!!

Haha, you're absolutely right! The Snap-on vs. Icon debate is hilarious because, at the end of the day, it's about the skill, not just the brand of tools you use. Those seasoned mechanics with their 🚬 dangling, grease-covered hands, and a lifetime of experience can fix anything with whatever tools they’ve got handy. It's not about the price tag on the tool, it's about knowing how to use it! Old-school guys don't need the flashy stuff to get the job done-just pure talent. 😂👍🏻

Those are OK, have the Milwaukee version(same taiwan manufacturer). I prefer the stanley version of anti-slip(not rbrt). They gor some nice grip, also the wrenches are nicer on the Facom 440xl(mac precision torque). The test is old, basically outdated. Size does matter, specially when its supposed to be a grip test. Regardless, the better test is with actual bolts, and torque test channel science back tests. Anyway buy what you want, snap on does make some great wrenches. I particularly love they angle wrenches.

As are the Milwaukee’s (outside of the groove along the bar) AND the Channellocks which you can get through hardware stores associated with Do It Best. The Channellocks are by far the least expensive (assuming they still make them). The OEM is Infar.

When I was a sophomore in high school the Snap on rep came in to sell apprentice tool sets. This was back in 1984. He demonstrated how Snap on wrenches were better than all the others using the nylon nut. At that time Snap on used it on the box end to promote the first generation Flank Drive which came out around 1963. After hearing what the price for the tool set that included a top chest was, most of us went with Craftsman. A lot of guys bought the 250 piece Craftsman set that came with a bigger top chest than what Snap on was offering for a fraction of the price. Only one guy got the Snap on set. Someone put a scratch in his brand new box and he took it home. Since the Snap on Flank Drive patent ran out, most wrenches nowadays have a form of off corner loading on the box end. The open end of a combination wrench has always been a week point. I rarely used the open end in high break away torque situations. Guys who do a lot of alignments will tend to use the open ends frequently. Now other tool manufacturers are putting some type of Flank Drive Plus on their open ends. When I went to work for the dealer I bought Mac combination wrenches. Never had a problem with them rounding fasteners. Since those wrenches were stolen I've been using a set of Husky USA made wrenches. They have been good. $70 is a great price for a no skip wrench set with a lifetime warranty.

I use cheap tools at home. But I dont have the time t9 drive to Harbor Freight every week to replace a ratchet. Snapon comes to me. When the ratchet wears out, it skips a tooth. When craftsman (made in China now) and Harbor Freight breaks it blows out and busts your knuckles. If you keep your appearance neat and professional and use professional tools, eventually you become prpfessional and give professional results. Been turning wrenches for 30 yrs. I dont hire Mechanics that show up with cheap tools.
