    My philosophy is, if I'm having fun, my body has NO idea we are exercising. So I lose more weight because i'm going so much farther and doing so much more work than I think. I've always wanted to go faster, but i've only done average 12-14 miles an hour but not for very long. Now i'm averaging 18 mph with pedal assist 1 on a Ebike.

    This video hit my like a mac truck on a 10% downgrade missing all the gears. i'm 6'7" 280 and getting back into mtn biking again and managed to score an out of this world deal on a 2020 levo sl and really enjoying the new geometry and my knees not hurting due to my 34" inseam. biking is fun again and really enjoyed this take on the current status of the community. Looking forward to more videos!

    Ebikes are nice for older people who cant really handle the ride or people who cant handle the ride in general because im heavy set and always used bikes that are either extremely extremely cheap or under sized and never had a problem keeping up if anything people had to keep up with me just gotta learn your rhythm and yes ebikes do wear out trails because especially when you get those people the rip through it with high powered ones and lets say it catches fire as well then the forest is going to be as well

  • @Battleneter
    @Battleneter7 күн бұрын

    No you are completely missing the point, E-Bikes are great for "anyone at any age" that is not hard core into traditional biking, allowing them to put in as much effort as they chose on any given day. You want to go hard then turn down or off the assist, you want an easy ride on a nice day turn up the assist. E-Bikes have wide appeal and get people out of cars, you should love them regardless if you want one yourself.

    @Battleneter again its nice and all for older people or people who are trying to get into biking but are to heavyset otherwise or if you are just flat out to out of shape or to lazy ride a bike normally and use a ebike as a way to possibly work your way up to or just for people who wanna lazy cruise around the beach or if you live in new york city or Tokyo but im pretty sure Tokyo you need license plates for them even

    I'm a food delivery boy the last four year's it actually pays better than instructing kickboxing in other people's gyms I thought it would keep me in shape it didn't now I can't go anywhere without my ebike,,I bought a levo in 2018 and made it a mullet it's actually the first bike i saw with that set up everyone told me that I fucked up the geometry two year's later they started selling them like that even same slackness ..sorry I got of the track yes training it feels like you doing it but you aren't i even adjusted it in the mission control so turbo mode is only 85 percent and added ten percent extra on the eco so the three settings are closer to each other it was good for making it last longer at work..yes i use a levo to deliver food here in Norway it's so much hills and long stairs and high snow etc after four years I'm in really bad shape and on the second battery and fifth motor.. So I bought a trail bike without motor and it sucks i have to lock out the damper and because im also a big guy it still moves so i have really slow rebound and it feels really stiff but it's like pedaling in mud and syrup it's only fun downwards ..don't believe the hype it's more training to take a walk on the beack for fifteen minutes than a five hour shift delivering food with a levo even im often running up to fourth floor to give the customers their food..I lost muscles and gained fat so fast after a year I had to buy new pants the three year's after that I been struggling but a accident did so I lost a lot of mobility..but I love bike's and can't live without a good Enduro style ebike/emtb it has become kinda like my wheelchair.. You aren't not fat by the way it just looks like it because your legs are massive probably from climbing with full suspension mountain bike's I'm pretty sure you will look slimmer after three years on the levo but won't have strong legs anymore..anyways you should learn to pump on flat ground if you doesn't already do it it's a fun way to train your legs I started doing it when having low battery and when I became kinda good at it it became really fun and now I can get up to cruising spped just by pumping but it's tiresome after a few minutes.. It's probably a lot of other things you can do to use more muscle to but just bicyng an ebike is almost same training as using electric wheelchair for me and has become exactly that..I don't have video's of how i look now but I have video's of me from before the virus hysteria in my two different work places...maybe it will get better when my injuries heal..anyways I'm a big fan and aren't trying to be negative it's just honesty also you are a better mountain biker than me ,I was never really into it but wanted a easy way to enjoy our Norwegian mountains i love the mountains..

    Your comments are encouraging. I'm 63, used to ride a lot as a kid so bought a regular bike a few years back as a means to get more exercise. We have lots of interesting trails around here I wanted to explore but it tired me out so badly it wasn't enjoyable so I quit riding. I bought an ebike this week, waiting for it to arrive and plan on getting back into riding. I've had people call me out saying I won't get much exercise with an ebike, but I feel with just that little bit of assistance (and safety net to be able to get back home if I wander off too far) that a little exercise is better than none at all. By the way, I'm a big guy too, and due to the squared-cubed law, the bigger you get, your effort goes up exponentially. You've heard how strong ant's are, but if they were as big as us, they would collapse under their own weight? Same principle. your effort is disproportionally greater to propel yourself on your bike, than your smaller friends, so if their effort for their size is 100 percent, for your proportional size you will have to expend 120 to 130 percent. I hope that all makes sense. Cheers!

    I loved riding my KTM 520 on forest trails. You can really rip, have a total blast! I did have to kick-start it, the first one I had but later I got an Estart 520. It allowed me to.....oh, nevermind. Still, if ebikes get universal trail access, motorcycles should have it, too. Yes?

  • @dhanso928
    @dhanso92810 күн бұрын

    E bikes are motorized bikes. I get that ebikers want to say otherwise, or like spin it somehow to seem like they are really just like regular bicycles. But they're motor-assist on those that you're supposed to pedal. Motorbikes. I have seen friends put away their bicycles and switch to ebikes and do a lot more miles, get leaner, spend more time outside. And I certainly get the "being slow on climbs" as well. But I'd say don't fool yourself by saying ebikes are the best bikes... they are motorbikes actually...Yes, you can pretend, but they do have motors and they'll haul you around... The issue of where they're allowed? I hope they're restricted to everywhere motorized travel is allowed, as they are motorized.

    I would buy one if I could afford it, lol. The only argument against them that sounds legit is the fact that you can get so many more laps in. 5 guys on normal bikes might put 25 runs down a trail in a day where those same guys on ebikes can put 100 runs on that same trail in that same day. Not worse wear, just a lot more of it.

    În my 20s, I used to be the weirdo that doesn't dismount for getting up the hill and yapped about huge pinions and tiny chainrings while being ridiculed by the folks that were choosing a taxi up the mountain. I admit, now I ride ebikes because I can ripp thru the climbs trice that fast.

    @Battleneter Idiotic, I don't use a car for mountain bike trails, that's like comparing mountain biking to an electric toothbrush. If you want to use one, have at it. For me, I think they are cheating and undermine the point of mountain bikeing, which is why a lot of people sell them. For some people they are great as they get you out and onto the rails rather than not riding at all, but its not for me

    I recently purchased a mountain e-bike and love it. I've not increased the amount of miles I do on my e-bike compared to my normal bike but I'm now doing cycles that involve lots of hills and going to areas that I would have normally avoided because of the amount of hills. In Scotland, legally e-bikes power assist has to cut off when the bike reaches 25km ph but not an issue as I mostly use the assist of go up hills.

    It's the best thing to happen to cycling as a whole. It has opened up cycling to everyone and getting more people into shape. There is nothing negative about it. I applaud people who ride traditional bikes but if you have health issues like me I never would have jumped on one. The ebike has made it possible where I can ride 30-40 mils a week and get fitter.

    Great video and wondering if that is a tuned rear shock? I tried 3 shocks (coil and 2 air cans) and bottomed out multiple times every ride with the right spring and over-pressured air cans. RS select +, 2024 Fox X2, and RS Ultimate Coil 650 spring. 225 lbs geared and cannot get anything to work. The X2 is the closest with 290 PSI (40 over recommended PSI) and 4 spacers (max vol spacers) and still bottoms out in the open position. I move it to firm and it does not bottom out, but feels like a hard tail cause its maxed everything (PSI and spacers).

    One more guy here who tesrifies that you get e better and longer workout on a emtb than on a push bike. The descent is even faster and more confident. You ride more often. It is better. I burn per hour same.calories as in the cycling session inside the gym. At least on Garmin.

    What I realized very quickly is, I get double the work out on any given ride descending a trail multiple times in a row vs getting completely exhausted & resting at the top for a good chunk of time. Time well spent having fun and less sitting and chugging water!

    Im glad u pointed out the fact tht riding an ebike has allowed you to become more efficient on a regular bike. The bike shop i work at we are also a specialized dealer. My coworkers and I got e-bikes. I had the levo expert carbon. It was amazing how fast I was able to go and I developed sort of a muscle memory once I got comfortable on the ebike that translated very well once id go back to riding a regular bike. My coworker and I actually discuss this often comparing the effects riding the ebikes gives to pur riding as a whole. And definitely riding a 50lb bike trying to be as fast and nimble as you would on a normal bike is a serious workout! I wouldnt be as exhausted but my whole body after riding enough would be sore and in a way becuz I was able to go so fast so effortlessly I develop better riding techniques and control as well. Id def recommend anyone that can get an ebike to try it. Its definitely worth it!

    I agree with everything you said. I personally don’t have an e-bike yet, my daughter won’t let me get one because she’s worried that she won’t be able to keep up with me 😂. But one thing that I find frustrating is you’re allowed to ride horses all over the mountains and they do more damage to the trails than an e-bike ever could and I own both horses and mountain bikes and love riding both so I’m not being biased. If you want to see a rough torn up trail watch a pack string of mules go down the trail while it’s wet.
