HERE FOR THE #BLACK_TOP_HAT
I just received a Tilley as a gift, love it!
Thankyou.
les tilley LTM5 sont fabriqués en CHINE !!!!
and let it be known the Rough Rider is very comfortable to wear.
I have many of those you had mentioned....love wearing my Akubras! They are a hit here in Canada! I get compliments anytime I wear mine!
Kinda of like the Leisure Time hat I have....gotta love the Akubra.
Been looking at this one for a while. Not many people offer this version Akubra so it's nice to see you have it up again. Thanks
Thanks Andrew!
I need some advice. I have a Byron that is now 4 years old. Bought it from one of your competitors (😢). It’s a size 62 so has the thin woven head liner rather than the leather that all of the smaller sizes have (not sure why as I think that effectively changes the size - at least for the first year). The outside hat band is leather - and that leads me to my problem. My head sweats, it passes through the woven band and into the leather and the woven hat. The result is a greasy stain on the hat itself, quite brown as it passes through the leather. I’m reluctant to have a go at cleaning it as I’m not sure what to use on the leather, woven .reed and woven liner that would be safe to use on all three. From the feel of the hat, that seems to be coated so might be protected from a cleaner, which is my primary concern in cleaning the whole thing. Will I end up with a bigger mess. I contacted the seller two years ago and they couldn’t provide any advice. I contacted the makers a few months ago but couldn’t get a response. Does anyone in your firm have any advice that can point me in the right direction? Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Rob Ennor Ottawa, Canada
What about adjusting the band (if that’s the correct term)? My head is longer than it is wide so I can’t find a size that fits. If it works from temple to temple then it’s too small the other way and gives a red mark on my forehead. If I size up then it’s too wide and looks ill-fitted. Can you reshape the fit?
What material is this hat made of?
Its made of Rabbit Fur Felt , spun here in Australia.
920 👍🏽
I sexually identify as a picnic table and like this hat. Thankyou
Happy for you . Thanks !
love my barmah hat . great for kayaking
Thanks for the feedback !
I have the Territory but will be looking at a Colly next because I have a long oval head and the Territory sits a little too low for my liking. I still love the look of it, though.
The Territory hat is the same as the Cattleman hat but bigger brim. Its a low profile hat, so the Colly would suit you more if you want a more comanding crown.
I bought mine probably more than 1 size too big. Let's wait till the Summer and I'm sure will try to "cook" it in the hot car. Filler is still not quite fit for me :(
Yes, very easy to make it smaller in a hot car ! Just don't make it too small !!
I have owned khaki Territory for years and I still have it. I love wearing it. Being a Wyoming cowboy who traditionally wears a cowboy hat, I personally think the Territory by Akubra gives me more style and protection from the summer heat. Best hat to wear without a doubt.
Very informative! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I love both these hats one for work and one for dinner If I measured my head and get 60.5 cm will I get the 61 or will I have to go to the 62 to allow for 1 size shrink thanks
Try the size up , should be fine. Buy fillers to make small if you need.
I’ve been waiting for this color to come out. Just bought one tonight and can’t wait to get it here in Texas.
Hope you enjoy it!

Bit bigger is good. Fillers make the hat smaller if you need but hats don't get looser or bigger, they tend to shink so better to get a touch bigger if that is an option.

I love this style hat. I have the cattleman and riverina (amongst many others) and think this falls inbetween. It looks like it sits a little deeper like the riverina. I find I keep pushing my cattleman down...I think I should have gotten this one first hahahah...it's on my list to get now!
Love it i definitely want it.
It's so good!
I bought mine in Port Douglas and have made very good use of it, even though I live in the UK! I wear it in the sun and rain. Didn't want a leather one as I'm vegetarian so got this canvas one and my goodness, I love my hat. It's foldable for travelling (watch a squishy burmah hat video) and even though it isnt a squishy it does work, don't store it like this, else it will loose it's shape. I do wear sunglasses with mine but only because I'm light sensitive. My BFF doesn't with his
Thanks for sharing!
I have the Plainsman in santone and I love the colour. I was struggling to decide on a colour that both suited me and that was practical in a very dirty outdoor environment. I love the sand and bran options, but a pale work hat would end up dirty and discoloured in no time at all. The black and browns and greys were more practical as far as potential staining, but didn’t suit my complexion. The santone has been a perfect option, being a lighter fawn and almost khaki that gives me the best of both worlds. It seems like an underrated colour in my opinion. Am very happy with it!
Nice hat with a flat brim
Nice take on Seratelli, Stetson, Resistol or Smithbilt styles, well built in full fur felt at a decent price. I like seeing what they've done with North American styles. Akubra doesn't just do the Aussi look.
The Territory’s ventilation holes are so large, and they seem to really stand out. I wish they had used eyelets that had been painted to match the felt colour so that they were slightly more subtle. The stark contrast of the brassy-coloured eyelets against the black felt of the hat makes it look odd.
First time Akubra owner here! I recently came to own a second hand Akubra, a santone coloured Plainsman that needed a little bit of TLC to really bring it back to looking it’s best. The pork pie crown and the flat brim didn’t suit me, but with a bit of steam and patience I was able to give it a downturned brim and a teardrop crown that really smartened it up, better complemented my face, and suited my needs as far as brim coverage and shade. It’s my first Akubra and I am absolutely in love with it! It’s a pleasure to wear and offers excellent sun protection while I’m working in the yards. Am now a genuine Akubra convert.
I have a couple Stylemasters with moonstone grey being the one I wear most frequently.. I live in a humid rainy area and find you can't go wrong with Akubra. Moonstone is a stock colour there now.
Good looking hat, as nice as anything put out there by North American hat builders. Glad I noticed it. Cheers.
What are the size increments btwn. the sizes by inches?
Is it kangaroo leather with crocodile band and teeth?
What the material? Normal leather? Or kangaroo leather ? Kangaroo leather with croc band would be perfectly Australian 😅
The black is definitely a class act. Was thinking grey graphite Banjo to go dark with but now hmm this is hard to say no to. Good review.
I'm 15 I've had mine for 3 years now I have to say it is looking rough and it is damaged but it still does its job highly recommend probably only looks a little damaged because it was my first hat and it won't be my last
J’en ait acheté le même il y a 1 mois il est il taille juste super et très confortable et très très léger parfait le chapeau Barmah …
Hat, khaki fur felt as it is known in the Australian Army
I bought this hat yesterday, my measurement is 56cm but they suggest size L. I hadn't seen it but I like a hat with curves, I can shape it
I will be ordering the Territory hat. the brim on the territory looks bigger.
I defiantly want the Territory hat. love it.
Thanks for answering my questions
I have a tweed British Ghillie hat that is a tad too large. It has no hatband to put strips in. Since it is wool, do you think the wet down and let dry in a warm area would work? It sits on my head a bit too loose, and I'm afraid in a high wind that it would blow off and I'd lose it. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
terrible audio AND you're playing background music...
Any idea which Akubra would have a similar style wit a narrower unbound edge?
Brixton seems to be the same price as a Failsworth Millinery, which has long lasting tradition. Now i know nothing about brands in this cap type. So can anyone tell me which is better quality ?
