    Brother, why’d you skip all the good stuff, what kind of oil? How many miles? How’d you remove the filter?

  • @firsttimersDIY
    @firsttimersDIY11 күн бұрын

    Thanks for watching and commenting. Looks like we clipped some things out in the edit. There are 60,000 miles on our subaru. We try to change the oil every 3,000 miles. Outback uses 5.1 quarts of 0W-20 synthetic oil. Filter was removed manually. Hope that helps. Will be sure to update this info in the next video! Thanks again!

    I just wish you would have showed what side of the Jeep you were on. You just started the clip under the Jeep. Did you walk to the drivers side or passenger's side and go under? Where's the reference point?

  • @firsttimersDIY

    Thanks for watching and commenting. If you're under the jeep and can locate the oil pan, look towards the driver's side. The starter is just above the oil pan on the driver's side and should be visible. Hope that helps. Thanks again!

  • @firsttimersDIY
    @firsttimersDIY6 ай бұрын

  • @TonyMarony73

    @@firsttimersDIY Cancel my previous post. I found out that the engine is gone. Camshaft chain has probably jumped due the loosening tensioner and therefore valves came to contact to pistons. It cranks, crankshaft rotates during ignition and alternator and belt, but looking into the camshaft chamber during startup, camshaft goes back and forward about 5mm. So probably tensioner has loosen and chain has jumped over. My wife listens so loud music when she drives, so probably it was shoving marks to go broken about 500meters before but she hasn't heard of that due the loud music. Good thing is that it broke to our parking slot, not onto road. My friend estimate, who owns mechanic shop especially to US cars, estimated whole top, engineering cylinder heads, valves, chain, tensioner etc etc, about total 1000 - 2000 € which is about same in $US. So full repair of the engines top part, ... and she drove it and probably engine was warning with sounds that something isn't right, but she didn't hear it.

    Thanks for this video. I think my starter is beginning to have trouble. I don’t have the clicking issue but I’m noticing when I start the Jeep, it’s a little slow to turn over. It does turn over but again just seems to be slow. I have a new battery and my alternator is fine. So I’m wondering if this is the starter. Can’t hurt to swap it out. I have 120k so it may be time. Just curious what replacement you went with. The Mopar ones are really pricey now. I can get on at Autozone for a quarter the cost. Thanks again
