Just left the theatre during the interval. Music quality was very good, vocals were quite simply not strong enough.

Love this theatre , great staff and manager David ... personally feel it was a shame about the show... Yes it was an interpretation of Motown hits but 'sweet' was about the last thing it was, disappointingly poor ! The backing band looked and sounded mostly like session musicians, were very competent, driven by a tight drummer and bass unit. Sax player also worth a mention as being on the money. The guitarist and at times the keyboard were lost in the cacophony of noise once the 'singers' were all in, largely over powering any of the music niceties . Even allowing for a poor PA sound system/mixing desk which seemed to be overdriven with distortion and lack of sound clarity when all of the front line singers were on mic., it often seemed like a shouting match as to which of them might seek to deliver something like the rich melodic soulful vocals so prevalent in Motown classics and so lacking here. Without being unkind although ok in an open mic sort of way, there really wasn't a star voice amongst them and at times in the second half their extremely energetic routines ( the enthusiasm of which couldn't be faulted) led to some flat note delivery. It could have been so much better with the appropriate volume, mic balance and distinction to match the capabilities of the sound system and the acoustics of the venue. One of our group actually had to move to the foyer to be able to get any sense of a realistic sound and commented on the number of people leaving during the first half complaining about the show. From a theatre perspective , whilst difficult to get a balance between encouraging people to stand up and dance and not blocking the view of the stage for those seated behind them who had paid for the privilege of seeing the act not an array of other audience members backsides......or is someone being selfish ???

Malcolm 'Goldmaster' Diss AKA Ming Midas, hoarder of (other people's) Gold.... fraud, thief, backstabber, Malcolm has stolen my composition and called it 'Push Harder' and released it under his name not crediting me at all, i wrote the chords and arrangement, the tune came from MY chords, the chords and arrangement came first and Malcolm added Bassline, Malcolm licenced that tune and Dub mixes to at least 3 compilation albums for around £1000 each time and NEVER paid me one penny...... blatant fraud and theft... He is STILL selling my compositions 'Rocksteady Time', 'The Fugitive' (the idiot called it 'fugitive rock') on Amazon, I tunes, etc WITHOUT my permission and he has NEVER paid me or compensated me in any way... Malcolm think he has gotten away with it but i am coming after him HARD. i WILL get justice for what this evil , thieving, lying egomaniac tyrant tried to do to me..... Malcolm's paranoia and narcissism puts HIM at the centre of any and every action by anyone he feels is in his world, To Malcolm there could be no other reason for Jah Free to write 'ALL EARS OPEN' on the run-out groove for his first record, it HAD to be about Malcolm, a cryptic jibe at Malcolm's expense........ it's much like when Malcolm discovered that his former mentor Red-Eye had Lung Cancer and was going into hospital for surgery..... Malcolm embarked on telling as many people as he could that Red-Eye DIDN'T have Lung Cancer and was, in Malcolm's exact words to me "Making it up to hurt ME"! Yes, Malcolm Goldmaster Diss ⚖ told me and many people that Red-Eye went around town falsely claiming to suffer Lung Cancer, in Malcolm's words, "because he knew it would get back to me and he wanted to hurt ME"!!!!......... Egomaniac petty tyrant Malcolm once punched his Guitarist Pete Condon on stage during soundcheck just as Reggae historian 'Penny Reel' walked in........ i jumped onstage and got in between them, taking one of Malcolm's fists to my jaw in the process, no good deed and all that........

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Saw John and his awesome band play at a local nightclub in Stockton On Tees many year's ago now..KU Bar the place was called and they didn't disappoint🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸*Are You Experienced* played everything we'd hoped for and so much more......he even set his guitar on fire (I have photo's to prove it) lol although health & safety soon put a stop to that (Kill Joy's). I've loved Jimi for as long as I can remember (thanks to an older brother and his love of Hendrix was inevitable really) but sadly I never got to see the Master himself play live as I wasn't old enough....but this is where John comes in😊 John was a very friendly sociable guy but little did we know he was about to blow our 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 *WE HAD A TREMENDOUSLY GREAT EVENING* thanks for keeping Jimi's music alive!❤️ R.I.P. JIMI 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊Fly on my sweet angel🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊

Ellie Leach will not be performing in Birmingham or Cheltenham? I guess that means she’ll be replaced by Helen Flanagan, who was going to be cast as Miss Scarlett. If that’s the case, I really want to see that play at the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham.

I saw it 2 nights ago at the Palladium. One of the worst shows I've ever seen. Boring anecdotes, poorly written & not funny. I laughed not once. Would be just about bearable if it was about 45 minutes shorter. Like being stuck for a couple of hours with a dinner party bore hogging the conversation. In my opinion, Dawn French is minisculely talented.
