Poles try dishes from other countries out of curiosity, but they prefer their Polish cuisine. It may not look like French, but they prefer their own cuisine in terms of taste, a bit heavy but this is related to the historical climate which was sharp. There is a saying in Poland "A hungry Pole is an angry Pole", it is better not to cross such a path.😄

I recommend the Bottiglieria 1881 restaurant next time. This is the best restaurant in Poland. This place has two Michelin stars. Of course, it costs around £100 per person and you need to book in advance.

Very nice material and you are also nice and positive. However, in the future, I advise you to do some research before visiting historical places. For example, you were in the courtyard of the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill, not really knowing what it was. It's a bit like someone in London landing in the Tower or Buckingham Palace and wondering if it is some historical and important place. The architecture of the courtyard at Wawel is in fact Italian, because the wife of one of our Renaissance kings was an Italian woman, Bona Sforza, who brought many things to Poland, but also Italian architects. And in the cathedral next door, which you haven't seen, about half of our rulers and queens are buried, because in our history we also had a king who was a woman. It was Jadwiga, descended from the Hungarian Angevin dynasty, who was crowned king, not queen, because our laws at that time did not allow an independent queen to rule the country. As for the "La campana" restaurant - it does not have Michelin stars, but has been recommended by Michelin guides for years. It is not located, as it was said in your material, "next to the main tourist routes", because Kanonicza Street, where it is located, IS one of the main tourist routes, it is one of the oldest, and some say the oldest street in Krakow, in the past, it housed many prestigious and important institutions. The restaurant occupies the site of the former meeting place of the Brotherhood of Bell Ringers, which took care of the "Sigismund" bell in the cathedral ("campana" is a bell in Italian). In Krakow, every next meter is a story... Good luck.

@@oliviayeomans it's not true at all, dumpling is the name of food category -dough with filling. So you can call pierogi dumplings or polish dumplings Same, Gyoza are Japanese dumplings, or khinkali are Georgian dumplings etc. Actually you can even say that Uszka are Dumplings So, insisting that you can't call pierogi "dumplings" is a bit pointless. The most important thing is to try all the classic fillings and then experiment with the less traditional ones 😉 By the way, if you liked Luktung, you might also enjoy Molam. It's a similar approach with slightly different dishes but also Asian and also delicious 👍
