    Many of the new comers don't respect cleanliness and like to litter. Nashville was so very clean. when I was there. Biden shipped a number of newcomers to Tennessee recently, so I understand your frustration. We have newcomers here who go to some our nice parks for family picnics, and leave their garbage all over that place and too lazy to clean up afterwards. Zero respect!

    Outside of perhaps Charleston SC, no Southern City/Metro is more expensive than Nashville (South FL isn't the South). If you're coming from CA, NY, NJ, or DC Metro it's still reasonable but far from "inexpensive". Those days have been in the rearview mirror for over 10 years. Nashville city is building a massive amount of high-density housing, and the suburbs keep growing. I still love it here but it's growing too much - too fast.

  • @LivingInNashvilleTennessee1
    @LivingInNashvilleTennessee118 сағат бұрын

    Many of us locals feel that way-- growing too fast and too large. Interestingly, I hear that from every single local of every other large city throughout the country amongst all my realtor friends.

    @@LivingInNashvilleTennessee1 I think that's true, particularly in the Southeast where people are moving in large numbers from the Northeast and West. It's interesting to note that Austin and Travis County, which has been one of the hottest cities/metro areas of the past 20 years in terms of population growth is actually losing population. Not a huge drop, but when affordability and livability no longer comport people will leave. I don't put Nashville in that category, but it's something to think about moving forward.

Foreigners everywhere, trash and they destroy every lot to put apartments up. 34,000 vacant apartments. companies firing American workers and replacing with asylum seekers to get 10k tax credit and going to give them free housing hence all the apartments. look it up folks they are passing bills to let employers put housing in their benefits and they are tax exempt.

    I question that stat seriously… However yes as the city has grown into a top tier city, bad actors go where there is most “potential”. And, sad as it is, NFL NHL and big league sports centers bring in some bad actors with the good. Memphis has as long as I’ve been alive a tough place for crime, which of course also hurts the state. Nashville does have more crime in the last 10 years for sure

    Do yourself a favor and don't move to Nashville. Crime stats compared to the reality due to soft on crime liberal govt aren't the same. Nowhere is safe here, high end robberies from foreign gangs just like other major cities to common robberies, carjackings, hit and runs, I'd advise look at a local news several weeks. Wkrn. In 5 years my household has had a car stole while at work, a motorcycle stole while we slept, and a car hit and run but we saw it was a friend of our neighbors and they refused to give up a name. It isn't the friendly town it once was, north and west coast and foreigners have drastically changed it. There are graffiti areas with ms13, doughnuts in the middle of major intersections, and a shortage of around 150 officers. There is one animal shelter in a city now over 2 million and homeless of all nationalities even in the well off areas, Hillsboro Green Hills areas. 130+ languages in the school system so if you have children, the classes may be oversized or slowed for others. My tiny experience living here 30+ years, I could share more.

    I've been to 42 states, D.C., P.R., and 7 other countries. I moved state to state 8 times in the past ten years, usually for employment. The last move I made was from Long Island, NY to Nashville in 2022. I love it, and I'm not leaving! It is the most polite place I have ever been to. I feel accepted here, and nearly everyone I work with is extremely kind to me. It was a polar opposite for me in my Long Island Job, where I was being slandered, gaslit, and treated with a ridiculous amount of animosity. Nashville is the place for me.

    If you like real food and also crave intellectual stimulation, don’t move to Nashville. Even with expecting to drive, the infrastructure is so out of date. Our northern “suburbs” have exploded with construction over the last 10 years as. Population has doubled if not more. But we’re driving on the same two lane highways that were built who know when. From the interstate at Ky state line going south for 30 miles just up to the city limits, it’s a two lane highway, dominated by trucks driving in the left lane. For our location 30 miles north of Nashville, it’s an hour commute during rush hour. Even more if you work in the Brentwood area. And not really friendly, I’d say more cordial. You won’t get real conversation with locals. Good luck on that. I’m a traveller, so I talk to people everywhere I go. Many other places are much friendlier than here-even California! Food and utilities are very expensive. Real estate is still fairly reasonable in some outlying rural or commercial areas. But lots of still wide open land. And very pretty landscapes.

But, as I work in Nashville everyday, all over, from Belle Meade to little Mexico in Nollensville to East Nashville, I do not find Nashvillians to be friendly, most are the exact opposite. I don't know, maybe if they started settling some of the illegals in West Nashville? They like taking their dog for walks and working out. They want a community to raise their future children in and lay down generational roots. Unfortunately they are looking for an apartment until he is finished with grad school. But if you have a suggestion of a safe community that would fit this criteria it would be helpful.
