If Kiyan comes to SU, let's just hope the fans don't do to him what they did to Matt Roe, yelling "Shoot! Shoot!" every time he touched the ball. Ultimately, the fans drove him away.

As much as I would love to see him in a Syracuse uniform, I will be fine with him going to Auburn or Ohio State (USC would have been fine if Andy Enfield was still there, but not any more). Indiana definitely would have been on my list of "please don't go there," so the fact that he left them off does not bother me at all.

Long way to go before the decision needs to be made, and it may need to be revisited once conference play starts. But I will say this: I suspect at this point Carlos' value is underrated because he will now be playing with players at or above his caliber. He will now have some top-flight teammates to play with. I believe he will perform above expectations, perhaps well above. But his competitors for the job may do this also. It's unwise to make this decision now.

Happy birthday 🎂 sam, I am..I think he is more likely, with less pressure on him...as his kid..If Melo was a helicopter dad coach...not ez and smooth..I think he would have more Rebel ..more combatitive..Inst. his transition is more smooth. Less chaos, cause of both their personalities, chill nature, healthy father & son relationship. I think Kiyan will..no matter what. A gift to Melo out of Luv & RESPECT.

If Syracuse can go 10-2, 11-1, or 12-0 this year then I think Fran will get the 4 and 5 star recruits to flood in. Then the trick will be to keep Fran, because Big schools will want him.....

No way...he hasn't done it in 62 games...immaturity, lack of effort, doesn't rebound or play much defense...BUT, he does shoots 3s better than anyone on the team, currently...MUCH more MUST be demanded of him, or else the bench...can't tolerate his lack of effort, and terrible look for the team to keep playing him...hurts team morale/effort...

Its going to be....Carlos, Starling, Bell, Freeman, Lampkin starting with Lucas Taylor, Chance Westry, Jyare Davis, and Elijah Moore as the next 4 men up then Mcleod and Cuffe will play the sparing minutes. Starling i think will get subbed out early in games for Taylor so that he can run point when Carlos needs rest. But Carlos will most likely be playing the heaviest minutes out of snyone on the team for how important he is. Starling, Taylor and Moore are all scorers while Carlos is the actual facilitator which is what we need for 30 minutes a game at point........Theres 200 totsl minutes to be had inba 40 minute game multiplied by 5 positions. This is how I think the minutes per game pie chart will break down.... Carlos 30, Taylor 20, Starling 25, Moore 5, Westry 15, Bell 25, Freeman 30, Davis 25, Lampkin 25. Then Mcleod and Cuffe will get the scrap 4 to 5 minutes per game if and when needed

There is not a ton of video on Westry, but from what I have seen if he is healthy he will be the point guard, think he will be special. I also think JJ will hit another gear, now that Mintz is gone at the 2. I think Bell will continue to improve & do more driving/better D at the 3. Freeman will be a monster at the 4 and Lampkin will be real solid at the 5. 3 point shooting will be way better this year, not just Bell. Moore, Davis, & Carlos will be strong contributers off the bench

  • @44032

The highlights on this site of Westry at Auburn makes him look like Copeland but hopefully without all the drama. Copeland was recruited to be our point guard, got displaced by Mintz and would probably have replaced Mintz if he had stayed.

Bell needs to stop getting on himself when he is not hitting threes. He then seems to forget the rest of his game which gets him benched. When he is hitting threes you see a lot more of his game besides making threes. Rebounding seems to improve as well as his defense doing the same .

I think they really could use more forwards and a good center. You forgot London Jemison 6'7", leaning Syracuse at #47, higher than Tyler Jackson, who I think would be great if he teams up with Kian. You also forgot Ryder Frost. I would love to get Chris Cenac, but he is probably going to be a real tough get. There are a bunch of 6'10" power forward/centers in the 2025 class 36-70 I would love to see Syracuse offer a scholarship too

It would be awesome to get both Kiyan Anthony and Tyler Jackson. I still want us to see get Ryder Frost as well. I think he has NBA potential. That being said, I don’t think HS recruiting class is important as it used to be. It will depend on which players comes back and which players transfers in. Players like JJ Starling, Kyle Cuff, Chance Westry, Taylor Lucas, and Elijah Moore, who are all solid guards will be eligible for 25-26 season… We know that likelihood of all players coming back for 25-26 season is less than 1%. We also know that there will be some decent proven players who will end up transferring to Syracuse as well…
