Great review, thanks. I have been doing some COR games now. I really love it! My experience - a couple of comments: - 9/10 of games I would chose Saga of the Bear. It makes the army so much more tanky. E.g. 6 thunderwolves will actually turn to 7 (roughly). Furthermore, it is hard to achieve that saga (unless you really want to risk ending with 1,2 or 3 wounds with Bjorn - I wont take that risk). The only game I chose not to start with that saga was against World Eaters and I chose Lethal Hits. - Go for armies where it is possible to win the sagas. E.g. I have been going with Grimnar (full rerolls and charges once pr. battle is a must) and Wulfterminators. With Oath, Go for the Throat on Angron they slaughered him. Potential to get two sagas there. Another example coule be Njal and 5 terminators with saga of the Bear. They could focus on taking the enemy objective with rapid ingress. - Murderfang seems good to bring, he is really squishy but if you can deliver him/screen him, he hits like a truck and just the potential for him to fight back frightens the enemy. So he can also be used as a fear factor. - I foresee Assault intercessors and blood Claws in future lists due to battleline-buff. Lastly; I have too played Wolf Cages in a couple of tournaments and... I find it boring now... COR can be played in many ways and I look forward to a lot of games and different lists.

Are you saying you cant take a 5 man squad or that Ragnar isnt allowed in the transport. Because you can take a 5 man squad. You can take a 4 man if you wanted to. The listing is 1 Sgt and 2-5 Bladeguard not 1 Sgt and 2 or 5 Bladeguard. It works the same as the old PL and the AOS rules which the way points work now is based off of.

Currently as it stands you pay the points for and take a minimum of a squad or the maximum. It's the way it's being played at every event and list build I've seen for 10th edition. So far no variable squad sizes like what you're describing. It's min or max the wording is noting that you have the Sgt of a squad plus 2 for a 3man squad or Sgt plus 5 for the full 6 so you take 3 or 6 no other variation at present until we get the marine dex and it changes.

Really enjoyed the recap, and the content so far. Always curious how deployment changes depending on opponent or faction. I hear games can be decided by good/poor deployment. I still don't yet understand why i am deploying the way i chose. Which leaves me floundering before turn 1. You did a great breakdown of each turn, but how did you/do you determine deployment with your army list and set up for the game? Drop Pod with Rapid Ingress, deep strikers, how far to put up troops with infiltrators ability? keep up the content! Congrats on 2-1.
@almostfunctional40k11 ай бұрын
Yes deployment can be huge especially in certain matchups or terrain layouts. The Drop pod is in must specifically for this. If I an playing someone else with really good indirect or towering that I believe can kill my Desolation before they can shoot I put them in pod to protect them. If I feel they are safe to deploy and opponent does not have fast melee to threaten my lines I will put Ragnar and Bladeguard in there so opponent has to worry about where they come in and gives me access to Rapid Ingress for more reliable charges from reserves. And if they do have fast Melee I deploy Ragnars squad to defend my line and throw infiltrators or scouts in pod to have more option for dropping tonscore secondaroes where I need. But I find it is good to practice deploying against different lists at home if you can.

Bes tip would be find your closet game store and find out when people play. See if players will let you watch and check out all the different armies. Eligible to shoot stuff is basically synonymous with actions from 9e (except assault lets you advance + action). Thinking about it that way makes it way easier to remember.

Well I've never had a TO rule that way. I had no issue at ATC
🤘🏼
Sorry but it's clear that you have not done more than 5 sec. of preparation before doing the video. Do yourself a favor and make a script and some homework.
Im shocked that votann did well here as a votann enthusiast that made me quite happy.
Thanks for the great content! There is not a lot of content about wolves out there.
I do what I can
How are you dropping guys from squads? You get 5 or 10. No option for 6-9
No the squad says 1 sgt and 4-9 guys. Not 1 sgt and 4 or 9 guys. You still have to pay for the full squad. Its just like old PL and like AOS
@@almostfunctional40k Interesting. The index doesnt allow that but the app does. I figured the app was just allowing it to get to the 5 or 10 number. That changes things. Redoing my Minotaurs as Space Wolves. Arjac makes a good Moloc and Bjorn makes a perfect Hecaton without the derpy box dread aesthetic. Working on a Ragnar conversion.
great content. was looking forward to this one.
excellent content
Really enjoyed the recap, and the content so far. Always curious how deployment changes depending on opponent or faction. I hear games can be decided by good/poor deployment. I still don't yet understand why i am deploying the way i chose. Which leaves me floundering before turn 1. You did a great breakdown of each turn, but how did you/do you determine deployment with your army list and set up for the game? Drop Pod with Rapid Ingress, deep strikers, how far to put up troops with infiltrators ability? keep up the content! Congrats on 2-1.
@@almostfunctional40k if you ever need an idea for another video, I won’t say no to a deep dive into a competitive 40K mindset.
Do you hae any tips for beginners wanting to get into playing 40k. There is a lot of different armies and they are expensive. So how do I know where to start and what to get first?
Bes tip would be find your closet game store and find out when people play. See if players will let you watch and check out all the different armies. First army I would go off what looks cool to you or you like the story behind. Dont worry about being competitive at the start because there will be a learning curve.
great content
Buddy. From a fellow player, there is no such thing as to many space wolves.
True
How did you determine a fenrisian wolf can do actions? The secondary cards say that "if eligible to shoot" give it up to perform the action. Are the wolves considered eligible to shoot even if they don't have a profile?
In the rules commentary from Games Workshop under eligible to shoot
Eligible to shoot stuff is basically synonymous with actions from 9e (except assault lets you advance + action). Thinking about it that way makes it way easier to remember.
PURGE THE XENOS!
