    Very, very good Sifu here - I understand why the student is struggling as what the Sifu is trying to communicate is a feeling rather than the mechanics. He will get there though for sure with hard work. Bravo from UK ⚡️⚡️⚡️

    I appreciate all of your of your in depth information. With this said. what is the difference in 4 levels big horse, and Ma bu?

  • @SharifBey
    @SharifBeyАй бұрын

    Ma Bo is simply a shorter, common name for the same thing. To be super detailed, the word "bo" means "step," so "Ma Bo" would be "horse stepping." "Bo" implies a method of movement taught in a static posture. "Ma" or "horse" implies utilizing the static posture for foundational development.

    Its interesting that I teach my students a very similar concept, as a tennis coach. We want our power and tension to come from the ground, and get looser as it travels up to our racket arm. Much like a pitcher throwing a pitch, his legs and lower back are tense, building a sort of coil effect, until they are ready to release that energy up and out. Very cool video.

    This is an extremely generous teacher. Having a teacher that is very competent, is one thing. Having a teacher that knows how (and is willing) to disseminate that knowledge, and help his students acquire these same abilities, is rare.

    He seems powerful but with all that skill, an MMA fighter still knocked out Sifu Sharif Bey with one punch…why does kung fu always lose in real life or against MMA fighters ?? No disrespect intended…I am sincerely asking..

I practice Hung Gar since 1991 and you are the first giving such a gift. I travelled and asked in many places to collect correct informations like these you are showing. Full respect 🙏

    You reminded me of a story I came across of an incident that Sifu Lam Sai Wing and his students survived. When he was trapped in a theater with his students by hundreds of gangsters that he fought off with a pole. Like Lam Sai Wing, you were in straight Beast Mode. Thank you for the inspiration.

  • @SharifBey
    @SharifBey2 ай бұрын

    Sounds like the infamous Luk Sin Theater incident where Lam Sai Wing, Tang Fong and 8 other people were trapped in a rival Sifu’s opera house. It was 10 unarmed against 80 armed, and the rival Sifu called Ching officials/police so it was over 100 in total. All 10 unarmed escaped and all 100 went to the hospital, 20 died. This was an actual event.
