    Looking to get one of these for general trail riding. I can get leftover 24 right now with huge discounts. Would you recommend it for that purpose? Does it lug as good as the big bikes do or do you need to ring it out?

    @@Jwils4 I was genuinely surprised at how well this bike can be lugged and cruised on. I expected it to be like a high-strung 125 but it was a really good woods bike. Good torque and overall a fun ride 👍

    I don’t get it. I just bought the XR 150 L. I had a Honda XR 400 and CRF 450 R. At 66 years old I bought this bike to simply poke around the forest rides at my cabin near Flagstaff and in the desert behind my house. Why are they trying to make this bike do things it really wasn’t designed for. It worked fine for 20 years in South America and Thailand doing their commuting. It is not a bike to jump with, pull wheelies or beat the hell out of it. It’s like taking a Nissan Sentra and expecting it to perform at the Rubicon. Very silly. I like what I bought and it does exactly what I bought it for. Get a bigger bike if you want to ride fast trail riding.

    Been looking at midsize cruisers, and the Eliminator at 451cc is the smallest/lightest that I've looked at. My right knee doesn't like being bent past 90deg, so I may opt for the Vulcan S or the Shadow Phantom with shaft drive. Nice video.

    Thanks for the video Ryan! Lots of negative comments on the 23/24 CRF250R forks being way to stiff and harsh along with too much feedback from the chassis (frame rigidity). Do you feel this is 100% fixed with the 70% new chassis and new forks? I assume the air intake updates allow for quick engine RPM build - the engine has a little more low to mid torque roll on feel? Did you notice your knees going into the slots on the radiator shrouds? Thanks for your insights!

  • @RyanNitzen
    @RyanNitzenАй бұрын

    Hey thanks for the view! This frame feels way better than before. Much more precise is really the word that comes to mind. It doesn’t fight you on corner entry and doesn’t feel like it’s going to throw you off. I felt the 23/24 was really harsh in the riders hands and this doesn’t feel the same. Obviously I’ve only ridden it one day, so take that for what you will 👍

    I was surprised to learn, from your video, that Kenny uses an air fork for his outdoor suspension (what about for SX)? I'm also surprised that his lower fork legs are not coated? Anyway, it just goes to show that the rider matters most. Yeah, the kick-starter is a no go for me... after riding bikes for so many years with an electric starter, I would not want to go back. I raced 2-strokes when I had to kick start and they are easier to kick start. I think Suzuki is still "visible" because of Kenny, and the Twisted Team, as well... imagine if they did a few updates, including an electric start, how their sales would increase like wildfire! Thanks for the video... I'm a long-time subscriber to Cycle News!

    You're right that one wouldn't think of a 150 as a good woods bike, but thee KTM 150's make more power and torque than the old Honda XR400R, and that thing is legendarily praised (rightfullt so) as THE goated woods/trail bike.

    I still don't really know who you are. It seems anyone can become a moto journalist these days. I would actually pay for someone to provide real information about bike tests. I guess no one really wants to criticize the manufacturers on their anemic efforts in providing new machines. I suppose the manufacturers are merely working within their current financial constraints. A 300 pound dual sport bike with a 2 gallon gas tank doesn't sound like much of an effort to me. @@RyanNitzen

    Except for the new plastic, punched out 250 engine and efi, it’s exactly the same as the 2008 KLX250S. Still has zero power but bumped up about $1500 in price. Classic Kawi- fool buyers into thinking they’re getting an updated bike when the frame, engine and chassis has been around since 1990. Not even a fuel gauge. The Honda’s probably a better investment.
