Amazing how the internet helps us expand and enjoy our hobbies and interests. Motorcycles, Scooters, Radio Control of old and new and video games are my hobby of choice. Awesome to have a format to share, seek out help and offer help to others who enjoy the same things as you.

Such a beautiful machine. Sadly they don't sell it in my country, i would trade my limbs for that thing
Good looking for a utility bike
do you still have it. i’ll buy it
I know this is a old video, but I have noise in clutch any idea what it could be .. i Forster, “t’s a rattling sound”
It could be so many things. The ruckus has a normal “rattle” at idle. But there are so many moving parts in there - if it sounds problematic, just take the cover off and inspect while running
Bonjour. 🇨🇭
Is the BEC on at all times as long as the battery is plugged in even if the ESC is off?
curious ...how much Top End Speed do you lose .....anyone?
Not much at all. A couple mph. But the top speed you hit is better held vs the drops in the previous mph.
Any chance you may have place where you purchased the contra spring? I can not find it anywhere. My best guess, polini 243.072 or 243.073. Maybe other?
It’s been so long. It’s a CN-250 Blue Contra Spring. They are out there as the CN 250 platform is copied and in a lot of products.
Do you have a part number for the Dr Pulley Sliders?

@@KMJ187 Thanks. I recall you saying you got the 21 gram weights, but I see 20 and 22 gram.
@@erickhaughn2217 I did get the 21 gram. Maybe another seller has them. How much do you weight? I’m 220lbs. If you are lighter than me you can go with 22gram. If heavier you can do 20gram. You can also mix and match. Put in 20 and 22 alternating and get the same effect as 21 gram. Lots of options with the rollers.
@@KMJ187 i'm about 220lbs....think i'll go with the 21gram....but oddly the Dr.Pulley site doesn't have them listed for the Big Ruckus....do I go with the kymco 300 ones?
@@mr.m325 they are the 23x18 sliders. That’s what you are looking for. Not so much by model. 23x18 :)
Thank You I've never had this ESC before and got it in a Euro truck cheap and wanted reverse turned on but no manual came with it and manuals online are in other languages this was by far the easiest thing to follow 😎👍 I appreciate that!
Glad to help :)
Thank you very much for the video!
You are welcome!
great truck everything looks and sounds HEFTY, HEFTY, HEFTY except the horn, it sounds wimpy, wimpy, wimpy!!!! But it's beautiful has the works I picked the yellow king school bus kids love it they all wish there school bus was a monster truck!!!
Hi Anthony, my wife and I just watched your video on our new bike.. We can not wait..
Congrats on the bike - I sold the bike to Anthony last year. I am the second owner from 2010-2023. I did all the mods and work on it. Anthony purchased it from me back in June :)
Is this for sale?
I sold it last summer.
@@KMJ187 damn someone is lucky!
Yeah i got a brand new kit its a good un. Rather build the portal version mind.
Just wanted to give a big thanks for making such a thorough video on a fascinating machine. These are really unappreciated bikes... I guess the poor sales figures makes that obvious... but I'd suggest it was ahead of its time.
Beautiful
Thank you!
The main spring, is that the polini part # 243.072? You able to find this in the USA? Seems I can only find it in Europe.
Still owning these treasures?
I do not. Sadly this bike was hit “with me on it” by a Volvo in 2007 and totaled. I walked always just scuffed up a bit. I used the insurance money to get another bike.
Sweet bike
Thank you!
That housing area looks beautiful....
I got one in 1985 and it's a very nice kit. I remember it was well made, weighed a ton and it would roll quite easily. Very tight radio box. I built The Hornet several months after WW and it was much easier. NIB kits are selling for a fortune now on the net and good used ones are expensive too. They should have re released this its much nicer than WW2.
I got really into the hobby around 1988 - by then - these were harder to find and not cheap - my first kit was a knock off hornet. I wanted one of these original wild willys forever. I finally got this one and finished building it semi new. I love it
@@KMJ187 I paid $180 (Australian) kit only in 1985. Mine was the same as yours - LWB. Installed the JR Propo tilt stick RC system - the trigger type were an extra $100 then and were the minority. It is a nice kit and I really like the look of it from the side - the chassis under the body.
@@Funco1979 my first kit was an academy minicraft lazer. It was a hornet close $49.99 usa. Towerhobbies had a combo for $99.99 with the kit - pistol radio - battery back -12v charger. $100 total was awesome and had all I needed to get started on the cheap
@@KMJ187 it sounds a good price did it have the RS540 motor?
@@Funco1979 it did have a 540 motor. It was an exact hornet clone. If you watch my grasshopper video I have a minicraft laser in the video. I have found two on eBay new in the box in the last 20 years.
You have the part numbers for the rear drive springs and belt you replaced it with?
I don’t have the part numbers. Was so many years ago. Mallossi Clutch Springs for the CN250. And Polini Contra Spring (Blue) for the CN250.
@@KMJ187 do you recall what color malossi springs?
@@erickhaughn2217 the mallossi came in a three pack. Yellow white and red. It came with all three. I went with the most mild of the three.
Hi my name is LeRoy, I live in south west Florida and am lucky to have a 05 and 06,great bikes so much fun to ride, its nice to see your bike and how well you take care of it love your video!
NO WAY! I literally own a Minicraft Lazer myself. I could never figure out what it was and assumed it was a World Engines Rockbuster with weird pink dampers and a black bumper (rockbusters came with blue dampers and yellow bumpers). Now to find a body...
That’s very cool. Yeah I still have a new lazer in the box. My first kit. Finding a lazy body will be tough. But it will fit any hornet body!
Nice build and review. Awesome upgrades. 👍
Thank you so much !
Morning from Kent England. Did I hear you say that the engine is a diesel? Been looking to obtain a bike or reverse trike. Enjoyed your video, you, your ride.
It’s a analogy. It’s a diesel like engine :) low rpm power
@@KMJ187 Thank you for the return reply. I 've been enlightened
Bought my 06 new off the showroom floor. I've had motorcycles my entire adult life. I did the big cruiser thing, the sport bike thing, the Harley thing and the dirt bike thing. I was at the point where I just wanted to ride and not work hard at it. I'm 71 now, and I do believe the ease of riding this beast has extended my riding years. I added a windshield, did the jet change and slider change a few years back and it certainly has affected my mpg....because it's just SO DAMN FUN to roll the gas on!!!
Where did you get that windshield? I have the short one and I hate it.
It’s the original windscreen from Yamaha. I added a MRA universal second screen (had to drill holes and bolt it on) but the tall screen is the one the bike comes with. It’s like $270 - not cheap
@@KMJ187 could you give a link where buy it? Please 🙏🏻

Nice Bike! You have explained things so well as if you were talking to me. Thank you so much.
I like sharing my vehicles. This has been a fun 13 year trip with this bike.
Hi. Where did you get those handguards? 🙏🏻
From a website in Italy. Like 10 years ago.
Excellent
It’s beautiful. I’d love to have one yet I know I don’t have the money to keep it in this beautiful clean state.
I have the! Seme Tamiya Name: Fahrtenregler , by 🤝 Tamiya RC Car 1:10 2 WD Mercedes 190 2,5 16 V EVO 2 540 engine brushles with 9,6 Volt selvmade Akku runn prity Well bat Not too' fast meby 35- 40 kmh.
Great rig! 🎉🎉
Thank you!!!
I hated the mechanical speed control on my Kyosho Javelin. I upgraded to an electronic speed control in no time. I melted Tamiya plugs left and right using 14 and 13 turn high power brushed motors to propel that sucker at amazing speeds. Back then lol I still have it and the brushed motor which works, new brushes and a clean of the stator and I am golden.
The old mechanicals were terrible b it's what we had though. Modern electronics in effect are amazing
Gawd I wish these were still made!!!!😍
Very good!
Yup - I wish a modern take on this.
good day-Moddrocker, thank you,very useful ~godspeed,
I have a 2006 Big Ruckus that I bought new. It has less than 15K miles on it. I added a windshield to it. It's always been garaged. I'm seriously considering selling it because as you can tell by the mileage, I just don't use it enough and the scooter has aged better than I have. Curious if you've sold yours and if so, how much you sold it for?
I got $3500 - not bad. Even though she was amazingly clean - she did have 25k miles. I purchased the bike in 2010 for $3200 with 5k miles on it.
With this work without the sensor cable? My tamiya motor TBLM02-S wont spin on brushless mode with the TBLE02-s ESC.
As I recall - this ESC will only run sensored brushless or brushed motors. It won't run sebsorless brushed.
@@KMJ187 Wow thanks, I wasnt expecting a reply lol. I have the brushless sensored motor but dont have the cable. I just ordered some so hopefully that will get the thing spinning,. If not I just ordered the hobbywing quickrun 60BL ESC. I heard you need the fan for the tble-02s esc and you cant find them anymore.....
@@ryanbowen7831 yeah brushless are not like brushed - brushed just puts power to the magnets. Brushless sensors the computer needs to read the sensor and rotor position to spin the motor. No sensor cable and the computer cannot read the motor
I like everything on it but the wheels. I like the chrome wheels that are an option. I am doing the silver metal arms and knuckles, upgraded tie rods, the alloy wheelie bar, front and rear shock towers, full bearings, upgraded drive shafts and front YR bumper. Love these little crazy trucks. Slow but so much fun. Went with orange metal on the shock towers and a few bits and I am going to paint the body Orange! Orange. Oh and the servo protector and motor protector in blue Tamiya. Its gonna rock!
Question on the Noise / Sound device -> looked it up and it indicates it needs to pull power from the battery or have a power source. How did you solve for this and what parts did you use? Asking as I have a box standard ESC with one Tamiya battery connector only.
You just solder a extra lead positive and negative to the battery connector. It will pull from the battery and not effect the esc or performance.
Very nice.
Whats the one in the background? looks like a Big Metro lol!

I hate driving a car around DC traffic on I-95 - I can't imagine it on a bike!
i have one my self like some of your mods
انا من العراق واريد نسخة من هذه الدراجة كيف احصل عليها
CC is the engine, still 50?

MPD DC used to ride Vespas. Not sure how long ago. Looks like they're getting rid of their Rebels too on GovDeals. I like the section of Rock Creek/Beach Drive north of Tilden esp. where it can take you out to the MPD stables and Military Rd. If you ever get a chance to take the North Road in the Zoo which ends back of Adams Morgan that's a cool little road too. Above Key Bridge the GW Pkwy is just too nuts with the SUVs.
Awesome scoot. Wish I could afford it. Feel ya on DC traffic.
