The Stitch Sessions - Crochet & Conversation

The Stitch Sessions - Crochet & Conversation

Hey there!
Join me on my "Crochet and Conversations" adventures.

A few years back, I rekindled my love of crochet and thought this would be a great way to create an opening to some cool conversations with all kinds of people. Every week, you'll come with me on a new Stitch Session journey as I mix it up with some crochet tutorials as well as some in depth conversations on life, crochet and everything in between. (So pretty much everything and anything;)

Here, guests are free to really get deep and express themselves, while enjoying the soothing craft of crochet. I'm excited to get crocheting and chatting with my guests. You just never know who will agree to sit down and stitch with me and I'm super glad you're tagging along for the adventure!

See you soon!
-Karen

    I absolutely love this video! Thanks for sharing! But I do have one question, if you don't mind. When we are about to start the body, would you close the underarm area with a slip stitch or would include chains?! I ask because I just finished a square yoke and I added a few chains. It looks great, it fits really nicely but I think I could only make it work because I was trying on along the way. But how I would measure for a client, for example? Chest, upper arm width? I got a bit confused. Still, thanks for this incredible video!

    thank you for this tutorial. I'm finding that after three or four rounds my circle struggles to stay flat and starts curling. like it has too many increases, but I checked and I followed the formula right. tried different tensions and needle size. what could be causing this? thank you

    Thank you so much for the tutorial! I wanted to make mesh bucket hat but I couldn't find any tutorial nor written pattern. While this isn't exactly a tutorial on how to make bucket hat, this greatly helps me to figure out the pattern. I hope your channel continue to grow ♡

    Oh dear. I have read every comment about a dozen times. Still confusing about increases on odd rows, throughout the row. I understand only 2 double crochet at the beginning and end of rows, got that. At26:59, in black text at the top of screen, it says; "...from here on out, every odd row WILL NOT get increases throughout the row. Only on each end." But in some of the comments it seems you are says to continue making increases as before. 🙀😬😫🤯 Help...🙃😅 THANK YOU 💖

    Hi Deloris, Sorry if it's confusing. I hope I didn't make a booboo in answering some of the other questions but the odd row only get increases at the beginnings and ends - NOT throughout. Hopefully, that's a little clearer? Please do let me know if you have more questions. 👍

    Hello new here and new to crocheting. I have a couple questions. 1. Can I use any kind of yarn? I currently have bulky 6 weight yarn on hand. 2. Since I'm using 1 color, how many rows do i crochet before adding the straps? 3. Can i use regular thread to sew the sides together? Thanks in advance😊

  • @TheStitchSessions
    @TheStitchSessions7 күн бұрын

    Hi there! You can use a bulk weight yarn but your pencil case will come out quite large. Probably more like a purse. If you are ok with that go for it! With regards to straps, I'm not sure what you are referring to as there are no straps attached to this project. And as for sewing the sides, this project was crocheted in the round so no side seems were created. Might you be confusing this video with another one you watched?🤔

  • @melaniewilson8234
    @melaniewilson82347 күн бұрын

    Hi, so sorry for the confusion. I just realized I commented on the wrong video lol. This was in reference to the small tote bag you made using teal, yellow and white yarn.

  • @TheStitchSessions
    @TheStitchSessions6 күн бұрын

    @@melaniewilson8234 LOL I thought so! Ok got it! Yes that's the beach tote. Yes you can use a bulky yarn but as I previously mentioned it will make a larger bag so keep that in mind. If you are using one colour, just count the total number of rows I did with all the colours before I reached the strap for your row count and it should be the same. And lastly, yes you can sew up the sides with regular thread but I find that using the same yarn makes it a little stronger;) Hope this helps!

    Hi, I have crocheted for most of my life but I have not done granny stitch before! I am trying to make a rectangle granny stitch blanket. I have done the foundation and have attached my slip stitch at the top of my first cluster. Now I'm lost, I don't know what to do now, I don't want to change colors yet. Can you please help me?

  • @TheStitchSessions
    @TheStitchSessions23 күн бұрын

    Hi! No need to change colours of you don't want to. What you can do is slip stitch into the next two stitches until you get to the next space between the clusters. From there chain three and create your first cluster of the next row in that space. (You would DC two more times into that space) Then continue on as usual. Hope that makes sense? Don't hesitate to get in touch if you get suck again. Good luck!
