Wow you got the pro! Much better than mine! ACME CONDOR RESTORE 2003 1/10 4WD NITRO RC BUGGY kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4B-qs-bfs3Fo6g.html
It’s a great little buggy and it will be a shame when I give it back to my friend who is the owner. I’ll check your video out as soon as I can 👍
I love vintage nitros
Yes, this one was good fun getting it running! Just a new servo for the steering to add
Just one thing you should also do is straight out the antenna the top of it is a little bent so it might affect the range.
But be careful while straightening it.
@@Rcnitro22definitely makes a difference when using these older 27Mhz transmitters and receivers
That's awesome! I love vintage RC
Great little buggy that can be picked up quite for a good price
Wassup 👊 ❓ why wouldn't you break it in since it's like New. I'm curious ❓
Hi, my friend had been using the buggy many years ago. I’ve made the assumption it was broken in correctly at that time. However it’s probably worth me checking as I’ll probably give it a tune next time I run it which may include leaning the engine out
@@RCadventuresUK Right on.i inspect new or Old Engine especially Old vintage stuff. I have found surface rust before. I inspect what the eye can see. 👊
Great video! I love seeing vintage nitro.
Hi, thanks for the comment and I agree - this one is still good buggy, with a couple of new servos and updated radio it’ll be great for years to come. The only downside with these vintage nitro RC’s are spare parts!!
Now that’s what I call an RC video #keepupthegoodwork #awesome
Cheers 👍
Great Pick up. Never run a schumaker they look fun.. New sub keep up the vids and keeper rippin brother..
Hey, thanks for the sub! It’s been a nice little buggy to run.
I'm working on the same exact car . The one I have is missing the spur gear and every rush I've seen has a one speed clutch bell .This one has a clutch bell that has 2 gears on it . Any idea what spur gear I need ?
Hey, I didn’t think the rush came with a 2 speed transmission- is it possible someone has tried fit the transmission that comes with the on road evo rs4?
@@RCadventuresUK It's possible . I was kinda thinking the same thing.
Seems a nicely built Cougar for a fair price. Also properly wired and soldered up and built with hex screws which is always better than the standard hardware.
All looks good and just need to find some vintage races to enter!!
i use this same one every week on my reds 721 works great i just have it on for about 5 mins and engine fires up fine
Great to hear. Have you made it part of your start up routine regardless of ambient temperature outside?
@@RCadventuresUK yeah first time i use i do a good warm up but after that only 5 mins use all the time
As mentioned, gear mesh sounds a tad tight, for the price you got a good deal, ballraced steering aswell. Not an essential mod, but hard to find most of the time as its out of stock. And looks to have the pro transmission fitted. If its built right you will hardly need to touch it. The wheels i think are JC racing products, not j concepts ?
Hey RLrc, thanks for the info. I think I’ve solved the gear mesh issue but great to get some ideas and support. Trying to document my ‘adventure’ in RC has been a steep learning curve and I have this insatiable appetite to take on too many different areas of the hobby at once😬
@@RCadventuresUK haha i know what you mean, its easy to dive off here there and everywhere. Im stucking to vintage 1/10. But may have a go with something modern one day 👍
There is something wrong with your transmission.Check the space between the pinion and the spur gear.
Thanks, interestingly I had the buggy out for a really short run on the street yesterday after calibrating the ESC and thought the same. I’ll try and do some investigating today!!
@@RCadventuresUK You are welcome.
Adjusted the pinion gear today, sounds better but still not quite right. I need to spend a bit more time with it!
@@RCadventuresUK 1)1/3 of pinion gear should engage spur, use a paper between. 2) check orizontal displacement meaning the pinion with gear should mesh in maximum surface. 3) Check if your pinion gear is worn(thinner teeth and color from teeth absent. If you check all these and there is still noise means that you have problems inside differential which is less probable.
My buddies are Sportwerks Mayhems with Mach .26 engines. Is the SWorks on your wing the same company?
Pretty sure they are different companies. I think Sportwerks is not in business anymore. SWorkz are very much a 1/8th and 1/10th scale off road buggy racing company. The one I have in this video is about 8 years old- still going strong though!! Cheers 👍
@@RCadventuresUK Sportwerks has been gone a while. I just didn't know if they had opened under a new name. Thank you sir.
Ok, that is pretty cool. I will definitely try one. I just pulled my 1/8 buggies out after 20 years.
Good luck with getting it back up and running!!!
@@RCadventuresUK Thank you!!!
Those original rushes are pure nostalgia 😅 I sold mine in the winter. Might see you ‘round who knows 🤷🏻♂️
Having a few issues with mine- just need to find the time to resolve them and get it back out!
Do you think this might fit on a .10 sized engine? not sure if it will be too loose fitting on that size head to make a difference?
Hi, the specs say .19-.26 RC nitro engines are compatible. So maybe it would be a bit too big.
@@RCadventuresUK thanks, just wondered how tight it was possible to do it up with the Velcro strap
Can you definitely run 4s battery's on these? As every where I've checked it always says 3s
I’m sure it’s only 3s or another 12v source
I tend to heat twice on my Hyper 21, Currently breaking in a new HPI F4.6 (.28) heat that twice and leave the heater on the head to keep the heat till it fully warms up.
Hi, great to hear your experiences. I do think the nitro engine heater will be a great addition and by the sounds of it essential in the long run. I’ve been using a heat gun but it doesn’t provide the away from home flexibility that this does 👍
5:50 you dont know how IR thermometers take a reading. it spreads out in a cone. the rest shouldnt need to be said.
Hey, I used to use IR thermometers in certain parts of my previous job, however that was what feels like a long time ago and yes I agree there is more to ‘how’ they work then I mention in the video. It’s very easy to think the laser is part of the measuring mechanism rather than simply a pointer, the effects of differing materials and fidelity or ‘field of view’. Looking back at the video it was probably worth mentioning that IR temp guns only measure temp at the surface. With a small nitro engine this is probably not too relevant but with a large bodied item, bigger engine for example then it maybe relevant. What I’m trying to get across was that use what you have available but try and be consistent in what you use and how you use it. 👍
Come to NDOR Notts Derby
Hey, thanks for the comment and I’ve just checked out the NDOR website - looks like a great club and track. A bit too far for general practice but not too far, probably about an 1.5hr drive - does look like you have an event on 26 May - could that be my first race!!!
Nice one, really liking your videos. One thing I'd do is add dt02 oil shocks, will sharpener up the chassis and make it less bouncey, found out the hard way with a tt02 escort I built a few years ago. Had to upgrade it with the Carson speed pack.
Thanks for the feedback- I have oil filled shocks on the Holiday Buggy, but maybe they need adjusting or a different weight oil. I’m on the lookout for a tt02 - if I can find one for the right price 👍
Unfortunately I sold my TT-02 last year, partly paid for my Hyper sste.
Looks like nice track 😎
Hey @HaggardRC, yes it’s a great place and a very friendly team that run the place. I’ve been glued to your channel as I’m looking at the Nova engines for my SWorkz- to replace the 2nd hand ones I currently have. What’s your overall verdict?
Nice run, I love the rush. It goes where you point it , I have changed mine into hybrid so to speak, the original purple chassis got bent so fitted the black evo chassis then swapped the .15fe for the evo t-15. Then I found it hard trying to find decent wheels so fitted the Firestorm front spindles to allow standard 12mm hexes, this also replaced the brass bushes for sealed bearings. As for the bidy, I have a rush evo shell. The original one cracked.
Hi, sounds like yours has had plenty of attention - but to keep these older trucks in use then you need to be creative with spare parts! Interestingly since doing this video I’ve run into a few issues, I think I’m going to have to change the engine!! Cheers
@RCadventuresUK Exactly, the main problem for the .15fe is the liner, it has a nickle liner meaning the bore has a softer surface and wears away. The engine plate on the chassis can allow different engines to be fitted but its finding mounts that are to correct size. Good luck on your RC journey
Hey, great video and new sub here! Definitely had a similar type of story, it’s a rabbit hole once you get hooked lol!
Hey, thanks for the comment and sub! It’s a great hobby and tying it into a new KZread channel and been great too. I’ll be checking out BargainBashersRC when I’m back from the day job!!!
@@RCadventuresUK I appreciate it, thank you! It is a great hobby and the KZread community is very supportive which is great!
Looking forward to seeing it on the track
Hey@joevsRC yes, hopefully I’ll get it out soon- just had some new outdoor astro turf specific tyres turn up so getting closer! I’m still relative new to this so I might need a bucket full of spares!! 😂
Always worth talking to your local club, they might have suitable cars for sale or get down, meet some like minded people and potentially grab a bargain too.
Hey, @petersmith9039, yes that’s a great idea - I think I got lucky with this one, but moved the odds in my favour by having a good chat with the previous owner. But I agree going along to your local club will help ensure you get a fair deal without any unexpected surprises! 👍
Welcome to the hobby
Hey, thanks for the comment and it’s been great fun getting into this hobby- it’s a bit addictive!!
Facebook market place i bought my first nytro tmaxx 3.3 to play with my son with his new xmas tmax bit of work put my own rsdio into it but love it
Yes, if you’re prepared for a bit of work then you can get some great RCs 2nd hand, just need to do your homework and go in with your eyes wide open - I’d like to get a tmaxx in the collection
i bought a couple bind n drive losi on eBay last year and i couldn't be happier. 22x4 and 22 5.0 (both Elites) other than the servo in one of them being bad they were ready to rip right out of the box and saved me a lot of time building, etc. i didnt have the time the build two kits and wanted to just start racing. seller made good on the broken servo and sent me two replacements valued at about $80. i priced both cars out to be about double what i paid if you built them yourself with new parts.
Hey @SV666, thanks for you comment and great that you've had some good luck also when buying second hand. It can of course be a minefield. One of my first RC purchases was an SWorkz s350 1/8 buggy complete with engine and was said to be RTR - of course it did run, but the engine was knackered and one of the Savox servos was on its way out - technically it was as described but I needed to spend some decent cash on it to run it regularly.
cool stuff
Cheers - I just check out your channel, loads of cool stuff and I love that indoor crawler course video you have. That place looks ace (I also love retro arcade gaming!!)
Facebook marketplace is a gamble if you can't see it in person. I am glad it worked out for you. Just subed
Agee and in this instance I was able to see the Facebook profile of the seller and could see they were part of some RC racing groups - I always find if you can get a good chat going with the seller, you get a feeling if they are genuine or not. Thanks for the comment and sub 👍
What would you pay and what are your Facebook Marketplace experiences??
Sounds lovely. I like the old 15fe
It was such an easy engine to get running and starts pretty much first time every time. Could say it lacks a bit of power compared to more modern engines however it’s great to keep these going. With your extensive nitro collection and reach if you come across an original rush bodyshell (the yellow one) then let me know and I’ll take it off your hands. I’m also after some front wheels!! 😀
Awesome vid extremely underrated
Thanks for the comment and of course I totally agree 😂
Nice video!! Yeah I need a body for mine as well.. I still have my original HPI MT the 4WD one I bought back in 2000 maybe 2001? not sure exactly lol all I know is that its old and still love it. Goodluck with yours!..
Hi Soundstream101 - cheers for the nice comments. I also had an HPI MT2 back in the day and loved it. It was my first Nitro engine truck. Unfortunately sold it on and now that I’m well and truly hooked to the hobby again, wish I’d kept it!!! All the best.
Just new to this channel nice to see this
Hey, @nitrorcswyatt it’s new and channel and thanks for subscribing- this truck was a bargain at £15 ($20) but caught me out when I knocked the carb open on first start. What type of nitro are you into?
@@RCadventuresUK I HAVE THE TRAXXAS REVO 3.3 THATS ALL THE NITROS I GOT
Great truck and I’d like to add a Traxxas to my small collection 👍
Nice buggy bro running good dropped you a sub
Hey, thanks for the comment - this buggy has been my introduction to 1/8 nitro and loving it - although the learning curve is steep 🙂
Good budget speed device. Also #1 subscriber! Cheers mate!
