My nemo went runaway today i put it into 5th gear and stopped it but the transmission is fried 💀

*I have a Fiat Fiorino Premio semi Automatik transmission which of course is the same exact as the Peugeot Bipper , Fiat Qubo, and Citron Nemo1.3 multi jet and with 298 K I had very few problems. I had to replace the clutch plates both of them in the semi -automatik tranny, I did all new glow plugs about 80k ago still good and I did replace the strut mounts about 100k ago other than that nothing else except tires and brakes timing chain original and fine with no stretching issues. Pretty solid vehicles*

white smoke would likely be a injector fuel stuck open , letting excess fuel into the exhaust system, its too specific to say white smoke - turbo bad

these are absolute garbage - relay, boxer, movano, ducato. All Fiat underneath with stereotypical Fiat "reliability" ie zero. It'll cost you more than the van is worth to keep it on the road. Everything breaks on them and everything is at least a grand to fix once you factor in labour and VAT. Just avoid them and get a Sprinter.

El nivel de aceite se mide con motor detenido. No gires volante con automóvil detenido. El seguro de capot lo malograron poral uso. Motor petrolero no ahorra, ya que se gasta más en mantenimiento. Consejo, comprar con motor FIRE EVO 1.4 8V, fácil mecanica y muy confiable.

No midas el nivel de aceite con el motor en marcha. No muevas el volante con el automóvil detenido. El seguro del capot lo malograton por no saber usarlo. Consejo, es mejor el motor bencinero FIRE EVO 1.4 8V, mecánica sencilla y muy confiable. Lo que ahorras en petróleo lo gastas en mantenimiento. No economizas nada, a no ser que andes más de 5.000 kilómetros al mes y retornes ganancias con ese uso.

Majority the faults you mentioned are typical diesel engine issues. Nothing new really, apart from the strut mounts. Add in dpf and egr issue with almost every bloody diesel engines.

That rattling noise sounds almost all diesel engine man. My Renault 1.5 dci which is a timing belt driven sound the same with thay ticking rattling noise.

Egr issues exist for most vehicles, it's not specific to the van. Get it fixed.

Other than the wing mirror sensor as below comment, They all crunch the gears, i had one with 7000 miles 5th crunched, same with one just stolen 19000 miles and every Citroen fiat etc The box will crunch a bit depending how you drive it,

Do diesel Vans need special storage and parking need. I live New York City I want to know if I can drive it and park it on the street like a gas engine. I'm asking because about ten year ago I was told they are hard to start in the cold. something to do with glow plugs. I recently saw a 2017 Ford Transit T-350 3.2L Diesel for sale

My Nemo has given me 110k without any real trouble. The one Achilles heel is the front suspension: it's not sealed properly from water ingress; then rusts and costs £100+ a pop to sort.

What I did. Bought the bearings. Openend the bearings (only screw driwer needed). Remowed grease and regreased using salt water resistant grease for boats. Much stiffer grease. Use a lot of grease. No problems for 150.000 miles and still running strong.

If the turbo is fault You’l have low oil….. ffs mate your embarrassing, low oil could be the head gasket gone or a leak from multiple areas, it could even by just burning and not been topped up. What a melon

Timing chains generally don’t break, they generally skip a tooth or multiple teeth or come off altogether. Extremely rare to see a timing chain break altogether. Your a typical salesman with no mechanical knowledge

There are like 10 engines in total on Qubo, Bipper, Nemo. Which one is the best? I know Fiat Qubo have the most economical 1.3 MultiJet 75 HP 16 valve and the most powerful 1.3 MultiJet 95 HP.

You don’t need to rebuild the engine if the chain snaps, it’s designed to brake the lifters only if that happens, no big deal and not expensive, not compared to a re built. The rattle from the chain is not caused from a worn chain, it’s the hydraulic tensioner that get stuck and makes the chain longer for a few seconds when starting from cold. It’s important to know so you’ll buy a chain kit that includes the tensioner, if you don’t change it the rattle won’t go away. Last but not least, you never check the oil level with the engine running, it will show completely wrong level.

I had a dpf problem, sorted that. Compression getting passed injectors, replaced seals and fitted superceded injector clamp nuts and spacers. I now have a glow plug down so got to sort that. It's a 2013 with only 80k on it, I definitely wouldn't buy another.

not a bad introduction to buying one of these, but one of the main problems with these vehicles, despite nearly 20yrs of production, are the poorly designed, and leaking skuttle drains, which have been likely badly neglected by the previous to give flooding in the engine bay. with obviously dire consequences. Any signs of moisture move onto another inspection
