  I got lucky and saw a Sig rep demonstrating the stock folding technique in some video before I bought my Cross in October 2021. The many folks commenting on how hard it is reminds me of long ago airgun days, with the Webley Tempest over-cocking pistol giving people such trouble. Once one figures out the simple geometry of grasping the grip and the barrel, pivoting them apart against the belly, it becomes childishly easy. Same with the Russian-made Baikal 46M 10 metre air pistol, a single stroke pneumatic (SSP) type pistol, with a long lever below the compression chamber. Learn to use both arms and the amount of force needed is so trivial that I actually cut 2.5" off mine to help reduce weight of the pistol, and it was STILL so trivially easy. The Sig Cross folding stock latch is very, very easy to operate. It takes a simple trick, as you point out, but if you look at the mechanism itself it makes sense. Both in terms of making a long-lasting secure latch, and in terms of avoiding the possibility of it accidentally becoming un-latched while out hunting, which could be upsetting when seconds might count.

  Childishly easy is the right way to put it. I am shocked at how hard I was making it before I figured it out. Laughable.

  @@redleo380 indeed. Sure is a sweet little rifle. I enjoy mine very much, and so far have had only one complaint; the ambi safety was digging into my hand a little. So I took it apart and cut the unused one off, the right-hand safety (for lefties), and smoothed and re-blued the steel, and now it's smooth and not bothering me. Different hand shapes I guess.
