I despise when promotors do this at events. No where to get out of the way, no flow, just a reason to frustrate and tire people out.
So I bought a 2024beta rr race edition. I enjoy your videos. I also bought the Amazon ee start and stop switches. Do those plug right in?
What year skid plate is it? All the 1s I find online use the top hole for fixing
Sweet single track
Watching that 390, reminds me of riding an XR600 in the woods. Its like using a sledge hammer to crack a nut!
what kind of camera and mount is that?
GoPro Hero 10 Black and a GoPro chest mount. Chest mount only gives good views when sitting down.
Where did you buy your hose kit for that 390. Looking to do mine also and not looking to spend stupid money on samco hoses. Thanks
Ebay kit from china $75. So far so good.
That’s what I figured because that’s the only place I could find them for that price. Already orderd it. Thanks for the response.
Dude tons of trees!!!!! One false move and your eating tree bark!!! Take it at your pace,, looking like a bunch of fun!
Thank you.
Do you have a part# for the pc racing air filter seal. I have 23 300rr race and having trouble finding it... great vids helped me out already

Does this model suffer from flameouts in the slow-crawling stuff? I'm considering a 4-stroke that acts like my 300 xtrainer with more top-end power. Although I don't want to suffer with a bike prone to flameouts. I know it depends on how you ride but some bikes are more prone to it than others. Thanks!
Its having an idle issue. The Beta 4T's dont have an idle adjustment. You have to get mapped. They are very sensitive to changes. I havent had any flame out's, but I have had some low idle issues. Most likely brought on from something I have done to the motorcycle. It does not stall easy otherwise.
@@SpecialEdRacer Thanks, I was riding my brothers KTM 500 in the woods and it took me a long while to get used to the flameouts. I'd be coming up a hill lugging it and poof it would die. He has the GetECU and it has a map that runs a high idle and it would still do that if you let the idle get too low. It felt unsafe to me but I'm sure I would of got used to it over time. I heard the 390 was very good at lugging low RPM and was curious. Thanks
Cool been wondering if they had these. I got the same bike and definitely like to adjust the clickers per ride
they work great and no more fiddling with a screwdriver.
@SpecialEdRacer Exactly! Where did you order them from?
Your good on the breather. I just put a filter or some kind of dust deterrent over the outlet. I also go with Cycra or someone else's bar end hand guards, never caught my hand in them but definitely saved my hand from tree hits plus keep replacing grips gets expensive. Thank for supporting disabled vets.
I appreciate the info.
@@SpecialEdRacer I did forget to say, I usually put the breather line up and a filter in it, that way the oil mist will drain back to the sump.
A 200 race edition would be a total weapon in those trails…👍🏻
Absolutely!
Nice ride Ed!
Thanks Kevin.
I know not to run that race or any mid east if they are that right now days. An occasional tight section is fine. But first gear leaning between trees for a mile isn’t racing. That’s literal trail riding. And yes I can definately ride the tight and even the extreme stuff. I’ve won championships on east coast in a va series and won races in SETRA,mid east, and NCHS. That super tight stuff for long distance leaves you at the mercy of the worst riders in the class in front of you or hell at the mercy of my mistakes. The secon place guy can hang up and give the leader a min of head start. To the rider in this vid keep up good work and hope to see ya on the line sometime this year. Yeah I’m an old guy as well. And we’re both in the not at all fast but not a rookie class. Haha.
It was fresh trail. It opened up later in the race. If I didn't have that washout I could have placed much higher in the overall. They had 45+ and 50+ B on the same row.
Those dang falls just take all your flow away. You were looking really good. 'v been watching most of your videos and I might be wrong because I'm just seeing your front end on video but she looks to me like the forks are not happy. Have you played with the damping at all? Looks real bouncy, my 300 RR was like that and would push over berms or slide out on flat track sections. Keep you stuff coming I like your races.
I was feeling good in the beginning until the washout. I didn't find any flow or balance on the bike until the 3rd lap when I started chasing down the leader. It was weird the front end not sticking I thought I might have hit a root but there was nothing. My 2nd lap was pitiful. I was planning on capturing the whole race, but my battery had other plans. Time to get a better one. I appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching. I need to check the rebound on the front and rear.
Let us know how it runs with the pipe
Adds some good power throughout the power range. I went back to stock gearing, and it pulls out of turns in 3rd with grunt. I am pleased with everything but the sound.
@@SpecialEdRacer factory mapping?
I recommend you go to a rider's school or get some videos from someone like "Riding with the Knights" because you'll enjoy your racing a lot more when you learn some basic racing techniques which you lack. You race like you're on a trail ride where being aggressive would piss off your friends..you are WAY to polite & you follow people too long slowing down to their speed. For example....When a fast guy passes you & the guy you are following, you should pretend to be right on THAT guy's wheel & when the guy in front lets the fast guy by...take the pass too. As the saying goes...Nice guys finish last....
Thanks for the input. Do you offer training classes?
I could see within the 1st minute you were going to be riding alone, the guy on the Yamaha is smooth & efficient (an expert). These situations (different skill levels) never turn out well. Either the faster guys end up having to ride at 50% - 70% (spoiling their ride) or the slow guy has to ride over his head possibly crashing...ruining everyone's day. The best way to get faster IS to ride with faster guys. You just need to find guys a LITTLE faster & gradually work your speed up before you ride with the big dogs. More often than not, the slow guy's ego takes over & he ends up losing whatever rhythm he has, & goes even slower.
That guy on the Yamaha is a stud that is why I let him go in front of me. Thank goodness no one crashed and we all had a great time.
I've got the 23 350 and the200 200 is ideal for the conditions we ride in England. But use the 350 four flat tracks
You bought the wrong model...should have gotten the..CHASE Edition :)
That is what they should be called. They are very slow starting machines.
Thanks Ed!!! I appreciate that!
Any time! Did you learn anything?
Nice Riding. You guys are lucky to have a Private Track Like that. Could ride that all day 100 laps. Joe
luckily I was invited. Its typically a 2+hr drive to find a riding spot.
Congrats Edward on the 45B win. You caught me toward the end of test 3 and smoked me in test 4-5. Solid work and it was a joy racing with you. - Clay
I saw you got 2nd in 50B. Congratulations to you. I tried to keep up in test 2 & 3. Thanks for the tow.
120/90 works great in enduro too, bigger contact patch
The 140/80 that came on the bike was a great tire, but the thinner 120/90 was nice for the turning.
You need either top of the helmet or chin mount.
Unfortunately, AMA will not allow helmet mounts at AMA sanctioned events. I have a chin mount but I can't use it. I'm still learning how to set this up.
@@SpecialEdRacer ok that sux
I was wondering about those clicker things. How is the suspension, ,many say it's pretty harsh on the slower small stuff?
The KYB's are amazing. I have bad hands, elbows and shoulders and I love these things. If you balance the suspension front and rear properly (as with all bikes) anything will work. They are different from Yamaha KYB's. Very predictable and smooth. I don't think they are harsh and soak up the small chop extremely well.
Dam that was some bobbin and weaving, looks fun, wish we had some of that stuff out here in the desert.
It got tight! Even for this area. I prefer speed over precision and I don't have much speed.
Nice rode it last Saturday and I felt it😂
it was a little rougher than usual.
Other than your brake was dragging, you're so smooth through the woods
Thanks Doug! It helps being slow. I could go faster but I run out of talent and crash. My strength is stamina.
You're not old!! your just getting older, there's a difference 🙂I had the problem with the idle, its a rich condition. If you up the idle by 100 rpm, make sure they reset the TPS to suit the increased idle speed, otherwise the ecu thinks you've cracked the throttle when you try to start it, and it will cough an splutter and be reeeeally hard to start
Thanks for the heads up! I just spoke to the closest dealer and they said they were weeks out for service work. I just ordered an FMF 4.1 and I am going to hope for the best. I will call another dealer and see if I can get in sooner.
Cool, until I got the tps reset to the increased idle, the thing just wouldn't start when it was hot. When I said its a rich condition, that's only on cold start up and why the idle drops. Good luck @@SpecialEdRacer
That looks like 200 terrain all day 😳light and flickable. Good job 👏🏻
A 200 would rule out there. I was tempted, but coming off a 450 that would have been a leap.
Chest mount for the camera? Might want to tilt it up a little.
@@johnbranson7253 yeah I can't seem to find the sweet spot. When I stand I get the bike, but when I sit I get the chin bar on the helmet. Dang you AMA banning helmet mounts
agreed--probably driven by insurance@@SpecialEdRacer
@@johnbranson7253 absolutely. We are a litigious society. Like the guy suing smart water for not making him smarter. lol
Dude, that was a cold one!!
my fingertips were burning. still had a blast.
Waiting on a 24 390 re on order, hopefully it shows up soon.. Im riding a 23 KTM 350 excf now, it's pretty good but lacking a little power.
I was gonna wait, but the price of this left over was hard to beat
Lucky you, no 23's left around here.. @@SpecialEdRacer
