    Man, i was struggleing in MAYA to pull that off. Thx a lot! Turns out, Blender is in certain ways much better than MAYA and it pisses me of quite a bit that i pay so much money for a programm that ist constanly crashing and lacks so many smart tools to get around. Still, i find Blenders UI hostile. but...nobody is perfect :)

    Thank you for this tutorial. These are great! A couple questions: 1. Is there any way to loop the more abstract ones, like the second and third, to make a seamless looping animation? 2. Is there a way to apply the materials to an object that is not a perfect square without distorting the patterns? When I tried to apply these to a rectangular plane, the pattern stretched.

    Why Is everyone acting like UV unwrapping is a must-avoid thing bruh. Yes, proffesional unwrapping can be boring and tedious, but all you have to do to have decent UV is click on "Smart UV Project" and you're Done 💀

    37:25 this is because if you rotate objects in edit mode the uvs can glitch out when you have correct glitch attributes, to fix this just rotate them in object mode instead

  • @chrispivinski6025

    Thank you for this video. I am having one issue. It is when I am trying to reset the rotation using the method you mentioned. I create a cube, then select a face on an object in edit mode and have the snap and proportional option on, but then when I try to move the face to the cube it does not move/snap to the cube. Is there some option that I do/do not have on that is causing this issue? I'm using the most current version of Blender.

    Pro tip: don't render in PNG. EVER.

  • @DanielGrovePhoto
    @DanielGrovePhotoАй бұрын

    Why's that? What format do you prefer?

  • @Zenithanimations
    @ZenithanimationsАй бұрын

    @@DanielGrovePhoto EXR is the best. It supports up to 32-bit depth with RGBA and when using DWAB compression is even smaller than PNG files. Compared to 16-bit PNG, a lot of detail is kept despite it's compression. If you need to render a versatile format, use JPEG.

  • @DanielGrovePhoto
    @DanielGrovePhotoАй бұрын

    @@Zenithanimations I knew of EXR but not that they could be smaller than PNG! Thanks.

  • @Zenithanimations
    @ZenithanimationsАй бұрын

    @@DanielGrovePhoto No problem! Remember the two best compressions are DWAA and DWAB. Don't worry about the others Edit: however, you will need to use a LUT in Post in order to make the colors match the render. I suggest using Davinci Resolve and downloading the AgX base sRGB LUT. Export your EXRs in AgX Log overriding the scene and then apply the LUT in Post. Remember to do any compositing before applying the LUT, as only then you will be able to take advantage of the high color depth.

    Is it possible to implement random materials with array modifiers?

  • @DanielGrovePhoto
    @DanielGrovePhotoАй бұрын

    I have tried that but have not been successful as that array still has a single object id. However if you're using cycles you can use the geometry node's random per island output to give a random value per arrayed object. If the object has parts of it's mesh that are not connected they will be seen also as islands and get their own value too. You can then use this value to pick which material is used.

  • @DanielGrovePhoto

    Right. As I said in the video and as the download site says they are just material assets. Some are procedural, some are PBR with image files included.

    "cats" is probably not the extension. I'm quite sure you hide the extensions on your system - all blender files should end with .blend, which we do not see.

  • @DanielGrovePhoto
    @DanielGrovePhotoАй бұрын

    No that is the actual file extension, I can see it clearly in my Windows Explorer it also shows a text file icon instead of the Blender icon for Blend files. It's something Blender made up for this system but Windows by default shows it as a text file icon.

    good morning, this was such a useful video thank you very much. How can i take screen shots of a character and put then into one image. For reference i am trying to scale the image to transfer into blender.

  • @DanielGrovePhoto
    @DanielGrovePhotoАй бұрын

    Remove the background in Photoshop and use masking to hide the background pixels. Save this as a PNG. Then in Blender use Image as Planes to bring that image in to the 3d space via a flat plane of that image. Now you can move it and scale it. Be aware of camera angles and scale when doing this.
