This is a good pedal. People complain about the pop but you can add a pull down resistor on the input. It has LEDs which is really nice.

It seems like the switch is backwards and the Univibe is on with the switch up. Doesn't it?

  • @thezeroroom

It sounds crazy but that's the way it's supposed to be. It's the same on the original Uni-Vibe. "Chorus" is actually the traditional Uni-Vibe sound (used by Hendrix, Gilmour, etc.) that's ironically much like a throbbing PHASER (phrasing). Vibe is an abbreviation for vibrato which is actually the modulated signal that's mixed with the dry guitar signal to produce a CHORUS effect. However there is no dry signal in the mix so you only hear the wavering effect - hence vibrato like bending a sting up and down repeatedly. Why they named the Uni-Vibey phaser-like mode "Chorus" is beyond me but they actually did get the Vibe setting accurately named. So in conclusion, don't do what Donny Don't does. (They could have made this clearer.)

@@thezeroroom Good explanation. I liked the effect on this video and ordered one, but after a couple of times switching its position on the board it developed a loose connection on the jack. I opened it to re-solder it and a completely unsoldered wire actually fell out. Wasn't sure where that wire was supposed to attach to although there was only one wire to the input jack, so I am guessing it was to ground. I had no complaints about the pedal's tone, but since there was a really loud pop when switching it on I didn't bother trying to fix it. I would have had to add a cap and resistor to prevent the popping and I didn't want to put in that much time. I got a great deal on a Deja Vibe which I like a bit more. It's silent and can use an expression pedal to control the rate.

@@Toddler1967 Yeah that's what happens when we buy these cheap Chinese knock-off mini pedals. I've had issues with a few but nothing like that. Wow. I just ordered one myself. Luckily I'm using a looper with 12 sends and returns so I won't have to worry about the pop. Enjoy the Deja Vibe!

@@thezeroroom Despite the bad luck, I'll order another if I get a switching system like yours. My unit's solder issue was not typical. I have other Mosky pedals that are great and well made, so that was an outlier and I am sure I could have fixed it. I just didn't want to deal with the pop and figuring out the switch connections was going to be hard because I fried my multimeter biasing an amp. I think you'll like the pedal.

Thanks man :) The RGA42FM is using free IgniteAmps plugins (Emissary + Benevolent Tyrant Screamer) along with a custom impulse response loaded in NadIR. The other guitar is not using any VSTs at all, it's mic'd up with a SM57 in a handmade isobox :)
