All of my current availability for plants can be found here aquariumplantlab.com For fish some of ny favorites are cardinal tetras and rummy nose tetras. I would suggest sticking with smaller fish if you want plants 🌱

I love duck weed its great for quickly removing excess nutrients from the water, my tank is overstocked so i remove the duck weed 60% each week and the fish love to nibble on it, as long as your not trying to remove it completely good luck to you 😄

These just are not worth the risk. CO2 should be shut off at night as plants stop uptaking CO2 and can actually release some. You get a big surge in CO2 production from the yeast in the middle of the night and you could kill your fish.

Hey man I tried to grow Bacopa Caroliniana emersed and did the method you did and all the stems seem to be rotting, has this ever happened to you? I’m not too sure what I’m doing wrong. The water wisteria I have in there seem to have started to curve upwards and reach for the light so I believe they are growing. Could it be the batch of plants I got were just no good? They looked healthy though. It’s interesting because I put some plants in my shrimp tank and they have melted as well. Also, should I just I buy more Bacopa and try again?

I’ve grown them a number of ways. I would need to know the exact specs of what you’re doing to try to diagnose an issue. Temp, substrate, ventilation, nutrients, lighting, etc. feel free to shoot me an email through my website if you want and I can try to diagnose. Cheers!

It’s almost dangerously easy to care for. Like if a population manages to solidify in an environment they’re not supposed to be in, it can be a seriously invasive species. The hardest part is just being careful about not letting it get into a lake.

  • @AquariumPlantLab

Yup! For anyone reading this comment, do not ever under any circumstances release any aquarium plant (or fish) into the wild. Our hobby already has a bad reputation for this and it can lead to bans of species and heavy regulations. Not to mention the environmental impacts.

I dont understand why people want to eliminate the very best cleaners you can ask for....I can see wanting to control numbers, but if you keep feeding to a minimum, birth rates will slow in accordance to the food source the aquarium provides. And Ive got Rams Horns.....if they do start getting too large in numbers, Ill remove them manually. So far that hasnt happened.

How about CO2 injection? Is that too much for a first time? I just saw a video about how it helps combat algae. I’m not sure if this is BECAUSE it causes greater growth though, as you also mentioned more plants helps too

I honestly might start to grow some emersed aquatic plants too, something about them is just so appealing Bacopa Caroliana was my first aquarium plant that grew really well and it looks amazing here 😎

Im going to do this for my tank its been running for 1 year and 1 month but my monte carlo stopped growing a few months ago, also thr air line in the tank doesent just help with the plants grow it helps prevent mold 😀 another thing i would try is a diy co2 bottle just letting the co2 in the tank leaving it without a cap this is done when growing cannabis it 3x the grow rates 😉😀

I had blader snails go crazy after buying some floating plants for my 29-gallon tank. I picked up a couple yoyo loaches and half were gone the first day and none were visible by day 5. I was shocked at the results as I assumed they were strictly bottom feeders, but they went over my plants with a fine-toothed comb.

could you just pull out the diffuser from the tank at night and just let the c20 dissipate into the air in your home? Then put it back in when lights are turned back on in your fish tank?

i definitely dont get this amount of bubbles like the video unless i shake it up then its gone after a few seconds. Co2 drop checker i have doesnt even change colors. gona wait n see if anything changes but seems way better just to save up and get an actual tank.
