    Awesome. I would say I tend to aim for positivity over optimism. Both are better than pessimism/negativity, but I find with optimism you can set unrealistic expectations, of situations,yourself and other people. I think opting for a positive mindset has a similar effect on happiness etc but keeps you more in check with your circumstances! Also, your haircut isn’t that bad :)

    Hey, I totally agree with what you’ve said! As I mentioned, I’m trying to be “a bit delusional”, because hoping for the better things gives me some confidence. At the same time, extremities always lead up to something catastrophic, so yeah, I totally agree with you - excessive optimism will only complicate your life because of unrealistic expectations. I still can’t get over the haircut thing loool, but it’s getting better now that my hair kinda grew longer

    Great video showing how hard its to do street photography. I think that's one of the most honest POV I've seen. Its normal to feel weird doing street photography for the first time - just ignore the hate. People will look at you but IME its very rare for someone to say something. Last week I took a photo of some guys playing chess and one looked at me a bit angry... and that was it. So don't worry about that. Another thing is that you will feel bored N times while going out to shoot. I shoot in London once a week after work and its not rare to come back home with 0 good photos because 1) nothing happened 2) i wasn't in a "hot spot" 3) simply not the day. You can try playing some mind games with yourself to keep you going, but don't force it. If you aint feeling it, its ok. BTW toilets near UAL are great and free ;) Regarding the hate on some photos - ignore it. "Oh there's no focus", "It's boring" blabla. Did you like it? Good, take other shots. Anything to improve? Take note and try again next time.

    For those who still remain of the opinion that out of focus images are my fault, I invite you to take a look at the picture at 3:38. Now, as you are keen on leaving your hate comment, I can assume you'll be as keen to spend your valuable time to examine this picture. The middle part is clearly out of focus, along with 2 people IN THE FOREGROUND and the building IN THE BACKGROUND. Therefore, according to zone focusing rules, this could only happen if the camera is set to a really close distance or a really far distance. Hm, interesting, now let's take a look at the edges. On the left, the person wearing black coat is clearly IN FOCUS (so the lens must have been set to a really close distance). Now, here comes the most exciting part - please look at the right corner and explain to me why the building far away is also IN FOCUS. So technically, the lens cannot be set to a really close distance and a really far distance at the same time, but as you can see in this photo, both the person in a black coat on the left and the corner of the building on the right is in focus. Now, if you are still hesitant and still wish to express your negativity, please do - because the more comments you leave, no matter their nature, the more you tube pushes this video out. So thank you to everyone watching for increasing my you tube metrics, for a small channel like mine every view contributes is helpful)

  • @andychandler3992
    @andychandler399210 күн бұрын

    Actually. I shoot manual. I remember taking a very out of focus image, and a friend of mine looked at it and reacted positively. A few people did. So even if it's "out of focus"... such a notion doesn't consider 1) the intent of the photographer. 2) the pure look of the shot. So there's a reality, that opinions are like a--holes... everyone has one, most people with opinions are them, and they normally stink. You did very well and I absolutely want you to keep doing street and film. :D

    The lens being broken doesnt make much sense, since this is a SLR. When looking through the viewfinder, you are looking through the lens. So any issue with the lens should be seen already before taking the picture

  • @stasliutin
    @stasliutin10 күн бұрын

    3:39. The defendant takes a picture, which is out of focus. However, the background is out of focus only in the middle. Could the defendant have missed their focus?? Certainly! But how do you explain two objects, namely the tree on the left, and the man on the right being in focus simultaneously? With the background and the people in the middle being blurry? because our defendant can, in fact, focus manually! The edges of the photo suggest a small aperture, smaller than f7.1. Everthing in the frame should have been in focus, but it wasn't. We can see the faces of the people closer to the edge of the frame. If we agree on the defendant being able to focus correctly, then the blurriness could only have ONE cause! A faulty lens or camera. My theory is that the camera doesn't load the film correctly. I don't think it's a problem with the lens, because the photographer would have seen it. You can see if things are out of focus pretty easily. I think the film didn't lie entirely flat, it had a sort of "bubble" at the top of the film, kinda like if you push two ends of a sheet of paper together and it forms a "bridge". It's the only explanation.

  • @stasliutin

    Look man, I can see you're really enthusiastic about street photography, which is great. However, it seems like your skills might not be quite where they need to be just yet. Before starting a vlog about a day in the life of a street photographer, I'd recommend taking some time to really learn the basics of using a camera. Focus on mastering things like metering, aperture, shutter speed, and focus. Even just practicing in your backyard with some bottles and cans can make a big difference. I know loading a camera with film feels fun and sexy, but seriously, taking the time to learn the fundamentals will really pay off. Keep at it and good luck!

  • @stasliutin
    @stasliutin11 күн бұрын

    Well, thank you but I know the basics, as you can see in my vlogs I know how to use a camera along with shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Furthermore, the name of the video is “my first time”, that is the point of the whole video - to document my first time trying street photography. I did not say, however, as you mentioned “day in a life of a street photographer” and I did not call myself a street photographer in this video. But anyway, thank you for watching this vlog as every view means a lot for a small channel like mine, and I will definitely make an effort to improve in the future!
